Chapter 6: Chapter 6: First Day at the Academy and Fads Assessment

______ UA, Principal's Office ______

In the spacious room set aside for discussions and meetings, ensuring the comfort of the participants, two people and one beast, three creatures gathered to observe the passing of the entrance exam.

Everyone understood the reason for this gathering, which was the young man who had easily broken the scoring record of the strongest superhero and also the Symbol of Peace, the Allmight.

Comfortable in his cushioned chair, Director Nezu put his paws on the table, starting a conversation.

- Let's get right to the point of our gathering. Alex Adan is a teenager who might even be as physically powerful as the Allmight, and in terms of ability even surpasses him, no offense.

The huge jock waved his hand, perfectly aware of this, while the long-haired man with sleepy eyes could barely contain himself from falling asleep.

- I was wondering if he reminded me of Nana Shimura, also flying and possessing impressive strength. Could he be related to her?

The brute shook his head in the negative as the Allmight continued to listen to them.

- Exceptionally, the young man's parents weren't even from this country, so there couldn't be any kinship, and to be sure, he even went through their family tree. Well, Aizawa, I have a favor to ask of you, since he will be enrolled in your class, try to keep a better eye on him.

- Roger, is that all? It's just that I'm already feeling sleepy, and I have to be on duty today, not taking into account the fact that school starts in a couple of days.

- I won't keep you up any longer, Aizawa. Sleep well.

- Thank you, I'll see you again.

The sleepy man left the office, almost bumping into the door due to an overly long blink.

- Allmight, let's go shoot a congratulations on entering the academy, there's not much time left.

Sadness with weariness flashed in the Peace Symbol's eyes, but he followed the headmaster.

_______ Tokyo, Adanov House, 12:38 ______

For several days I have been engaged in nonstop video game playthroughs. Any fighting or competitive game or any reaction-based game in general was too easy for me, so the rpg and strategy genre caught my fancy.

The strategy game that took me the most time was AppleTorio. It involved building farms and tending apple trees while harvesting crops that could be used for various purposes. Although it is quite casual, but it does not have a lot of opportunities. Among the rpg I liked Exiled Empire's, a huge global map made in the style of a scroll. In addition to this it is simply mind-blowing number of quests, and the world felt alive and rich.

I also finally changed my clothes, putting on a white T-shirt and shorts, which were in a large closet on the second floor.

As I continued to farm wolf pelts for sale, I began to feel the growing boredom of spending time playing games.

- I needed to unwind, so I went to the park.

Seconds later, I sat down on an empty bench, looking around at my surroundings. Children were running and jumping on the playgrounds while adults strolled through the alleys, and some even rode bikes or skateboards.

We should get a skateboard and a bike, too.

A couple of people were playing badminton, and the rest were sitting on the benches, either staring at the world around them or reading a book or magazine. I closed my eyes and relaxed my body completely, enjoying the breeze, when I felt the presence of someone near me.

- Wow, Mike, look, it's the same guy I told you about.

A familiar voice came to my ears, so I reluctantly opened my eyes.

A tall, bald black guy about six feet tall, dressed in jeans, sneakers, and a purple sweater that stood out for its bright prints, was standing next to a girl with an interesting quirk, but already wearing a red summer dress.

- So you're Alex?

- Yep.

He held out his broad hand, dotted with bulging veins in my direction, and I shook it.

- Nice to meet you, Alex. I'm Mike, as you probably figured out by now. Let's have a seat for now, bunny.

They both sat down on the same bench, and Mike turned to me with an interested face.

- Taking a break from all the hustle and bustle, too? I know, and school's gonna start soon, and I don't have a lot of free time. Where are you studying, by the way?

- I recently took the entrance exam to UA, so that's probably where I'll be studying to be a hero.

Mike and Hitomi stared at me in surprise, when after a second the girl nodded.

- No wonder you'd end up in UA with a quirk like that. You'll probably be popular, too.

- It's okay, I'm studying to be a programmer, I've been dreaming of making games since I was a kid. And Hitomi's at the art academy, with her quirk it's twice as much fun. Well, let's go, or we'll be late for the movie.

The guy held out his hand with a smile on his face, to which I shook it again, sensing an imminent moment of continued mental rest.

- It was nice to meet you, Alex. Bye.

- Bye, Alex.

Then they headed down the alley toward the movie theater, while I was seeing them off, which the girl noticed and waved goodbye, which Mike did almost immediately. Shaking my head at that, I closed my eyes again, concentrating only on the sound of the wind.

I sat like that for a few more minutes, and returned home, continuing to farm skins to finally upgrade my armor and weapons, since my current damage wasn't enough, and I didn't even want to talk about survivability.

I was in the middle of a couple of days until, at one point, a courier arrived with a letter from the heroic Yuei Academy.

Inside the envelope was a holographic transmitter with congratulations from the Almighty. Briefly, he announced that I had successfully enrolled in the heroic faculty, and at the end informed me that I had scored a record 200 points and would undoubtedly become a great hero.

- I see.

I sat down to play games again, determined to mock people in online shooters, which was fun enough, thanks to the voice chat that allowed me to fully experience the full range of the loser's emotions. Reveling in that sort of thing brings at least some joy.

_______ Tokyo, Adan House, 7:50 ______

- Hmm, time to get ready.

Glancing at my watch, I quickly turned off the console and ran towards the academy, finding myself near the entrance in a second while the students were still staying and staying, and some even stared with a question on their faces.

- Oh, I'd completely forgotten about the school uniform.

After running to the nearest store, I quickly made my way to the counter.

- Hello, I need a school uniform UA.

The tanned woman shook her head negatively.

- Unfortunately, it's out, the next arrival will be in a week.

- Okay, where can I buy more of them?

- Try checking at Pin, Schoolboy and KO, Skillet, maybe there's some there.

- Okay, thank you.

Leaving the department store, I took off a few hundred meters to locate all the necessary stores at once.

The first and the last was Shkolnik and KO, since it was the closest, I immediately went there and thankfully the uniform was present there. The kit was quite simple and almost standard: a gray blazer jacket with a white shirt, with a round emblem with the word UA on the chest; black pants and a tie.

After that, I went straight home to change, eventually ending up back at the school gate.

- Uh, that's the guy in shorts who was here a few minutes ago. Can he teleport or something?

- I don't know, maybe he's just too fast.

Some students were talking amongst themselves, but I kept following along, finally getting into the hallway where I had to find the door leading to Class 1-A.

- Brother!!! If it isn't you!!!

I heard a painfully loud and cheerful voice that I would remember for a long time.

- Hello, brother.

I shook his hand, noticing a strange symbol on his arm.

- I wondered what it was. I drew it so I would never be cowardly and give up before my time. When I reach that point, I'll erase it.

- That's a good way to do it.

- What grade did you get into? I'm in 1-B. You must be 1-A, with that kind of power.

- That's right, I'm on my way to the classroom.

- All right, well, I'm gonna go, too, cause I'm about to ring the bell. I'll see you later.

- Yeah.

Once I was in front of a rather large door with the marking I wanted (literally a huge sign), I went inside.

The room is large enough to accommodate all the students in the class, who are seated on four rows of desks. In addition, the room was equipped with the minimum necessary equipment: a whiteboard, a projector for presentations, and a pile of crayons.

Right at the entrance I bumped into two students, a chubby girl and a green-haired teenager.

- Hi.

- Hello. / Bonjour. / Hello. / Bonjour. / Who the hell are you?

After listening to the greetings in response, I sat at the last desk in the second row, finding myself next to an ashy-blond teenager who was staring at me suspiciously and a black-haired girl across the desk who has the ability to create objects literally from the body, who also looked at me.

That kind of power can make a big difference in the economy, I'm even surprised that no state has stolen it, probably thanks to influential parents.

- Hey, did you take first place?

My tablemate finally asked a question, to which I nodded affirmatively.

- Hmm, don't get cocky, I'll still be hero number one, and you won't get in my way.

- Okay.

- Hmpf.

He turned away completely, and I glanced at the chubby chick and the green-haired one, who were chatting about something while the teacher was in the sleeping bag outside the door.

- If you're going to make friends, you've got the wrong place. And this is the Faculty of Heroes.

The teacher quietly left the sleeping place, standing in front of the students. A sleepy face with stubble indicated little free time, or it had to do with dishes, which is unlikely.

- Hmm, it took as long as eight seconds for you to calm down. Life is short, kids. You all need a little common sense education.

- A teacher?!

Some were still surprised by this appearance, which even suggested that some of the classmates were a bit retarded.

- I am your class teacher, Aizawa Shota. Pleased to meet you.

- He's our homeroom teacher?!

- God, these people are really starting to freak me out.

- I agree, these half-wits are always surprised by obvious facts.

Surprisingly, the neighbor, who was in a not too friendly mood supported my words, but then said nothing.

- Now change your clothes. Now.

We were directed to the locker rooms, where we quickly put on our athletic uniforms, which were - a blue sweatshirt with a white U, on the shoulders were also white running along the arms with a red outline, and below was the letter A, which still continued on the same blue pants.

Once in the spacious area, many began to look around, looking around every corner while I pondered the tasks to come.

- The initial quirk test?!

Shouted out a couple of people, still, still wondering.

- What about the ceremony! Or the tour?

-If you want to be heroes, you won't have time for little things like that. You're all familiar with the freedom for students in this school. Well, that "freedom" extends to the teachers, too. Ball throwing, jumping jacks, 50-meter sprints, endurance runs, grip tests, sprints, power drills, stretching exercises. They do this in regular schools as well, but in these tests you weren't allowed to use the fad. The country hasn't yet defined standards for these and doesn't really track performance. Well, that's the negligence of our ministries. Alex, how far did you throw the ball in high school?

The teacher turned to me, which caused everyone to look at me.

- I don't know, but I could throw it into space.

- Ha-ha-ha-ha.

A few people laughed quite loudly while others only smiled, but the teacher and a couple of students who were with me in the exam looked with serious faces.

- Here's how, use your quirk. As long as you're in the circle, you can do what you want. Don't hold back.

Don't hold back... If I stop, it could have disastrous consequences.

Taking the tennis ball in my hands, I calmly drew my hand back and threw it with enough force to make it reach the space, but because of that there was a powerful stream of wind that threw everyone away.

- ∞, good result.

Now all my classmates were looking at me with surprised and serious faces.

- What a force. / Is that even real? / I want to go home. / I definitely can't do that...

- You can't... You say? Well, in that case, whoever gets the lowest score will be eliminated.

- Huh?!

I'm getting bored with this.

- Welcome to the Faculty of Heroes.

Proclaimed the teacher, throwing his hair back, apparently for a moment of awesomeness, which came out medium.

- The student with the lowest score... will be expelled?! It's our first day! Even if it wasn't our first day...that's unwise.

- Natural Disasters..... Accidents... Mad villains. Disasters of all kinds can happen when you don't expect them. For Japan, "unreasonable" is a familiar word these days. And it's our job as heroes... To make the consequences of disasters minimal. If you were counting on chatting with friends at the nearest makdak after school, I hasten to disappoint. From this day forward, these three years... All you can expect from life in the Way... One inconvenience after another.

Now that's a speech he started, you can go into politics with that kind of skill, and if you do a little publicity.

- This is Plus Ultra... and I expect you to overcome these inconveniences... and be up there with the best.

I'm already the best, all it takes to be a popular hero is to get on TV a couple of times, and to do that you have to defeat a couple of tough villains.

After these words we went on with our tests.

Test 1: The 50 meter run.

Once I got into position at the starting line, I didn't even pose for a strong start, since my current speed was plenty.

- 0.1 seconds.

I was almost instantly on the other side, next to my teacher, who only nodded and my classmates, eyes wide open, continued to wonder. All the results after me were unimpressive, so they weren't even worth mentioning.

Test 2: Grip Strength.

The grip was measured with an ordinary dynamometer, albeit a slightly improved one. When it came into my hands, I had no problem squeezing its measurement errors.

- Okay, try this one.

He handed me a dynamometer which was a couple of times larger than the previous one, but even this did not save him from making a mistake in his calculations. When he looked at the results the teacher just smiled wryly, and my classmates still continued to be amazed.

Trial 3: Long Jump.

We went to a specially arranged sandy area shaped like a rectangle and started the jump test.

- All we had to do was jump to the edge of the court?

Deciding to make sure not to overdo it and fly off into space.

- As much as you can.

Adopting a half-sitting position, I instantly got off the ground and soared into the sky on the strength of my legs alone, setting the others off with their mouths wide open. When I landed in the Sahara, I just flew up and back down, which was already causing a new wave of disbelief.

- How is that even possible... / He's not human. / A real monster. / It feels like he's the protagonist of his story.

Test 4: Lateral endurance jumps.

- Come on, surprise us this time, too.

The teacher was already holding a crooked smile all the time, apparently my strength had made an indelible impression.

Thanks to the tremendous speed I could develop instantly, I seemed to be at several points at once, causing the ground to shake slightly.

Trial 5: Throwing the ball.

Since I had already thrown it, I had no choice but to watch the others. Of all 19 students, only one was able to throw the ball to infinity, and that person was a chubby-cheeked girl who could change the gravity of objects she touched.

At the end came out a green-haired teenager who ended up throwing the ball to mid-range, but broke his finger because of the force he couldn't match.

I think he has something to do with the Allmight, who has been watching him for a couple of minutes now, looking out from behind the wall, or he has strange interests. When it turned out that this boy was able to throw the ball farther than my roommate, he got angry and wanted to beat him, but the teacher calmed his ardor.

- It's time to announce the results. Your final score is the sum of your scores. If I were to look at all your scores separately, I'd die of old age, so I'll show you everything as it is. Oh yes, the whole "elimination" speech was a lie. It was a ploy to get you to try harder.

- What?!?!

I'm really starting to hate this yelling.

- Come on, guys, use your brains! Of course it was a trick!

Given his intonation, heartbeat, and general body demeanor, it was true, but something changed his mind.

- И... Right. Yes. Class is over. Your syllabus sheets are in class, don't forget to read them.

After that, he sent the green-haired man to the healing girl and went into the building himself, leaving us at the booth with the final result of the quirk assessment.

1. Alex Adan.

As expected, I came in first place; after all, there's no one in this mortal world stronger than me. Hmm, need to remember all the names of my classmates at the same time, so as not to distinguish them only by their appearance.
