Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Intruder
After three days, in another world, in a thatched house, a young man lay in bed, covered in ointment and leafy bandages.
Aside from the young man, A stout middle-aged man and an elderly woman dressed as a maid stood there.
"He'll wake up soon; don't worry, Garner," the elderly lady assured the stout man.
Thank you, my priest lady. I know nothing will happen to him in your care. The stout man gave her a small pouch of gold.
"The young boy looks different! Where did you find him?" The priestess asked him in a questioning manner.
"I also know nothing about him; I rescued him from the Thorny Forest during my hunt." He said.
Why do problems always find you, Garner? Take a look at his wounds; he has clearly escaped a war. The priestess snickered.
"Please keep this matter private for my own reasons." He requested her.
'I have my own affairs to deal with. Good bye.' She walked away with a small snicker.
Garner looked at Rocky Reynold for some time and left after a small sigh.
The old man had no idea that a pair of small eyes watched him from Renold's hand locket.
Renold regained consciousness after some time. He was exhausted from a hard fight. The forces of the Aries clan hunted him to the edge of Meru Mountain.
The first night of marriage is a memorable day for every young man. But in the case of Reynold, it became a terrible nightmare.
He lost his entire family in one night, including his beloved grandfather, who had cared for him since he was a child.
Even though he is conscious, he did not open his eyes. The events of war and betrayal, the bodies of his family members, and his grandfather's wounded face kept flickering in his mind.
He slowly opened his red, burning eyes. There is a thick medicinal scent in the air, and old medieval-style rock walls came into his vision.
There is not much space in the room. The old-style bed itself occupied two-thirds of the room. A small, round vessel with green medicinal liquid and a pair of cloths are placed beside the bed.
He slowly awoke from his sleep, his body lacking the strength to stand.
He felt around his wrist for the Leo kernal. It is still intact. He tried to summon the Leo Kernal spirit, but it didn't respond.
Leo Kernal Spirit is also affected during the battle with Aries clan Spirit.
"Wherever you are, never forget that you are the king of the Leo clan."
His eyes kept staring at the roof. His grandfather's last words kept ringing in his mind.
"Oh boy, you woke up finally." The old man Garner, came with a large plate full of food.
Reynold did not talk.
Garner sat beside him and slowly poured a glass of water.
I don't know who you are, but one thing is sure: "You are not from this area." He said it in a bickering tone.
Where is this place? Reynold asked Garner After some time,
This is Lockwood Village in Cloud 9 Province. You don't need to worry about anything; take good rest and recover your strength. Garner replied.
"How did I end up here?" Reynold asked in a weak tone.
I found you deep in the woods three days ago; you were unconscious at that time. Garner replied.
"Why did you save me?" Reynold asked in a serious tone.
Young people are really a trouble ...Garner sulked a bit.
"When I found you in the woods, there was a small lion cub protecting your body." Even though it is not a real cub, it's looking more like an energy being.
During that time, there were several animals surrounding your body, but no single animal dared to touch you. The small lion cub is protecting your body like a guardian angel.
After seeing that beautiful animal, I decided to save you. I don't know who you are or where you come from, but you're safe here.
After you recover your strength, you are a free man, and since this room is directly connected to my room, no one will distrub you in here." Garner replied.
After a deep silence, Reynold replied, "Thank you, old man."
"who is old man? Stop blabbing with your mouth. I'm the chief of this village and the only male with a 44th level of Vayu cultivation." Garner said so proudly.
Reynold did not argue with him and slowly closed his eyes. Garner also left him in peace.
Slowly, the night came. Reynold got up from the bed and ate an entire plate full of fruits and different types of food that he had never tasted before.
He came out of the Garner house without alarming anyone. He went up on the tallest building and started observing.
It is looking like a medium-sized village in his world. There are several rich houses surrounding Garner's house.
Maybe because Garner is the chief, a large path opened straight to his house. There are still several maids and guards on the outside doing different sorts of decoration to the house, like they are preparing for some type of ritual.
The people really are looking different. Males also have long hair and beards. If he stands among them, he will look like a skinny brat.
"Who are you?" Suddely, a sharp, female voice came from his back, and a long sword was placed on his neck.
Reynold did not reply. He kept his silence and started slowly turning around.
"Don't move"...the sword force was increased on his neck. But he clutched the sword by tilting his head to the side.
She tried to move the sword. But it did not budge.
"You..." the woman's tone became serious.
There was a young, petite teen before his eyes. Even though she is a teenager, the grip on the sword and the way she is carrying the sword were really eye-catching.
Annoyed with Reynolds' behaviour, she shouted for guards. Several guards came with bright torches. The entire courtyard became alert.
"Kill this bastard." "He is peeking from the top of my room." The lady cried in a histrionic tone.
"What? He is peeking at the chief's daughter. "What a shame! We must kill this bastard." The head of the soldiers shouted loudly.
""Lady Juri is going to be the daughter-in-law of the cloud-9 king; if this word leaks, we all will die. We must not spare this idiot. Brothers, let's kill him." Another soldier shouted.
The head of the soldiers came running towards Reynold with a bulky sword.
Reynold distanced himself from the lady and slid towards the lower left side of the incoming soldier.
He gave a normal punch towards the lower ribs, and sent him back by two feet. All the soldiers came to a standstill. No one dared to go next.
The soldier's head was the strongest man among them, and he was sent back with a single punch.
After a few minutes of standing still, the lady behind him started attacking with her sword.
Even though her strength is passable, her sword movements are tricky. There seems to be some sort of pattern in her footwork that is giving her an advantage.
"""STOP. STOP RIGHT NOW. """ yelled an old man, who came running. Perhaps because he was wearing a nightdress, he looked a little funny to Reynold.
