Chapter 74: 74. Pulled into the flames

[Some minutes earlier in Reuel's house]

"Hey, Helfer," Reuel called, sitting on a wooden chair that faced the dead fireplace. He had a glass of fine malt whiskey in his right hand, and the whole bottle of whiskey in his left.

Helfer quietly laid on a couch that was close to the wooden chair Reuel sat on.

"Was life always this boring?" He breathes the question out in the most languid manner. 

*Definitely not, there was never a dull moment when I was with your mother. Well, apart from the times she spent with that father of yours. Every moment with Alexina was worth living. But with you, YES! It has always been this dull.* The lizard had so much to spit out, but then again, he was just a lizard. All he could do was shake its head.
