Chapter 153: Perseverance

Tiamat was deeply moved by her words and it struck a chord within him and he responded, "I understand what you're going through and I too will do my best to make this whole process easier on you."

Fiona couldn't help the tears that came to her eyes from his tender show of concern and she quickly brushed them away in hopes of getting out of yet another embarrassing situation.

She felt self conscious around him as if he was somehow reading her anxious thoughts. In a bid to clear her mind she started to pick at a loose thread from her backpack causing it to unravel some more.

When she did not say anything Tiamat spoke again to break the uncomfortable silence that flared up between them, "I know being out in a strange world without a familiar face must have been taxing on you and you must miss your homeland like crazy." 

She wanted to turn away from him but he managed to block her path yet again.
