Chapter 46: Nasp Suit

Yawn!

Iota exited the cave and stared at the morning sun, a burning celestial object emanating light and warmth, shaped like the face of the kindest lady one could find. It was an odd detail regarding this world that he had yet to come to terms with.

The moon was shaped like a Devil while the sun was shaped like the Deity. Moreover, it seemed like they watched everything happening in the world, an omniscient entity.

Iota jogged around the foot of the hill, stopping once he felt exhausted. He then returned to the cave and took a bath in the shower apparatus that had been installed.

After changing into another set of clothes, he stared out, watching a boat bank at the river nearby as two Priests got down and made their way up the hill.

The one in the lead made a formal bow towards Iota before speaking respectfully, "We scoured through the city but found no traces of sir Dullip. It's as if he has vanished."

"If it seems like that, then it means he's captured." Iota muttered calmly before staring into the cave, "Everyone has recovered from their injuries, right?"

"My wounds have already scabbed," Canl replied from within, weaving cloth from the string he produced.

"Then, let's finish our preparations. We're attacking tonight." Iota stared at the Priest before him, "How's your Faith?"

"Once we made rounds in the city, we've made a full recovery," Yuddu said calmly. Of course, he had already fallen prey to drug addiction. Why the heck would Iota let go of such a valuable opportunity?

He waited a day and didn't take any action, not intending to antagonise Dullip again. But when Dullip showed no signs of returning, he took action.

And in the past week, he learned a lot about both the Priests and Shamans. They were from mortally opposing factions.

Royl, Canl, and Menl were Shamans that served the Fisherman Devil, one that was birthed in Wharu City but became a Devil in a village close to Garobu City, situated along the banks of the river that flowed through it.

As a result, the Fisherman Devil clashed with Garobu City all the time, turning it into a nest that provided him with a steady stream of Fear.

The Fisherman Devil terrorised Garobu City, killing any Spirit sent to eradicate him during his early days. Eventually, as his strength grew, the domain of his influence reached Garobu City too, thereby allowing him to personally enter Garobu City.

Left with no other choice, the then Sickle Deity clashed with him, resulting in mutual destruction. Unfortunately for the Fisherman Devil, it was too early to wage war, especially since he hadn't made any future plans.

When he died, his powers vanished along with him. But in the case of the Sickle Deity, Merku Garobu was there to take up the helm. As a result, the Garobu Faith clenched victory.

Due to their past, the Shamans made by the Fisherman Devil clashed with the Garobu Faith Priests. But of course, Shamans were a necessary evil and hence employed by the ruling powers of Garobu City to be rid of any evil plaguing their city.

Whether it be an unscrupulous merchant, a wealthy that misused their powers, etc. to prevent performing any action that sullied their Faith, the Garobu Family gave out all shady missions to those of the Sect while keeping their hands clean.

Not many Shamans of the Fisherman Devil managed to survive the war. And those that survived defected to the Sect branch within Garobu City.

But now, two opposing sides had no other choice but to grit their teeth and work together, all because they were victims that became slaves to drugs.

Six Priests and three Shamans; Iota made ample use of them. Currently, he was employing their powers to create suits that they could use to conceal themselves while making a move through Garobu City.

The primary candidates employed to make this were Canl and Nakdu. When they came into being, every Priest gained power regarding one aspect of their respective Faith. The case was the same for Shamans too.

Canl could produce strings so thin, they were thinner than hair. Their primary traits were their high tensile strength and sharpness.

Nakdu had the power to boost the growth of plants rapidly. This was how during the fight with the Kjallar, he caused the grass to grow to be taller than him and hide within them. Using this power, Nakdu stuck fertilised spores throughout the suit stitched by Canl.

The roots were forcefully suppressed by his powers to be thin as they spread out and formed a layer underneath the suit. Their purpose was to absorb all the sweat produced by the body as nutrients. On the outer layer of the suit, they formed tiny flowers, each barely the width of a nail. They released a scent that fully masked the body's odour.

Iota wore the suit numerous times and injected himself with Nasp blood. Only when he observed that it was unable to detect his scent through that did he finalise its production.

He was still emitting a scent through a Nasp's perspective. But, it was mildly different from his original scent. For a human nose, this difference didn't exist.

But for a Nasp's keen senses, it could very well be the scent of an entirely different person. So, they wouldn't detect him.

Once it was a success, Iota told Canl and Nakdu to create two of them. He needed a backup in case the first was damaged.

"It's done." Canl sighed in relief and stared at the two suits before him. He then gazed at Iota, "Since it's a new product, do you wish to name them?"

"Is that even necessary?" Iota stared at the suits for a moment before saying casually, "Let's call them Nasp Suits."

Iota was more interested in other things. He also armed himself with as many syringes as possible. Among the Priests, he was only interested in the powers of two, Nakdu and Vurunul.

Nakdu's rapid plant growth would come useful in all situations, or even as a backup food source. As long as he carried some seeds on him, no matter what kind of desolate environment he found himself in, he wouldn't go hungry.

Vurunul's power was right up his alley. It was termed fertiliser touch and could turn any biodegradable matter into fertiliser. This included anything from corpses and wood to living trees and people.

When Vurunul touched the Kjallar's thigh, the contact region degraded and turned into fertiliser. This power had tremendous applications, especially in murder.

Iota used it on a fish and was surprised when nothing remained behind. It was wholly turned into fertiliser in powdered form. With that, he extracted three syringes worth of blood from Vurunul daily and sent him on trips to the city to replenish his Faith.

Iota was only able to store a syringe's worth of Nakdu's blood since the latter had to also work on the suit. It was a bit of a pity.
