Chapter 46: The dark energy

Throughout his previous life as a warrior demon, Xylon had fought against many races. The demons had a reputation for being ruthless and bloodthirsty, and they were often sent to do battle with other races for higher purposes.

Xylon himself had led many campaigns into battle, but he had never fought against humans.

Instead, his battles had been against other powerful and formidable races. He had fought against the angels, who were the sworn enemies of the demons, as well as the dragons, the werewolves, and the giants and many more …

Each race had its own strengths and weaknesses, and each battle had been fierce and bloody.

Xylon had always relished the thrill of battle, and he had taken great pleasure in crushing his enemies beneath his feet.

However, upon his reincarnation, Xylon's perspective began to shift. He started to realize that humans were not as insignificant as he had once believed.

Xylon's days were consumed by his obsession to enter the abyss. Every morning, he would position himself next to the gate of the farm and gaze longingly into the depths of the chasm, searching for a way to penetrate its murky depths.

He pored over every book in Arthur's collection, desperate for any hint or clue about the other celestial gardens and the abyss, but to no avail.

The soul keepers who had come before him had left no record of this secret knowledge, leaving Xylon feeling frustrated and alone.

Even with the divine core, Xylon found himself unable to wield the dark magic that he had once wielded with ease as a demon. However, he was determined to harness any power he could to aid him in his quest.

He tried to replicate and manipulate some of the spells that he had mastered during his demonic years, hoping to use them to his advantage.

It was not like he never tried to do this in his years at school but back then he didn't succeed due to his lack of powers .

As a former demon, Xylon possessed knowledge of dark magic spells that he attempted to mimic and manipulate using the divine core he possessed. One such spell that he attempted to perform was the "Summoning of the Inferno," a powerful incantation that allowed the caster to call forth a raging inferno to engulf their enemies.

Xylon chanted the ancient words, his eyes flickering with a dark energy as he drew upon the power of the abyss. However, as he tried to channel the spell through the divine core, he found that his attempts were met with resistance. The divine core refused to cooperate with his dark magic, causing the spell to fizzle out before it could even begin.

Frustrated, Xylon realized that he would need to find another way to access the full extent of his dark magic abilities. He knew that he needed to find a way to circumvent the power of the divine core, which seemed to be blocking his attempts at every turn.

" I need to use dark energy , I need it so that I can reach my previous powers " he said to himself.

Xylon was consumed by his obsession with regaining his previous powers. He spent days standing by the gate of the farm, staring into the abyss and trying to channel its dark energy into himself.

Akuna, everwatchful, was always by his side, but Xylon was so focused on his work that he barely noticed her presence.

The dark power he sought was immense, but it was blocked by the divine magic protecting the farm. Xylon, undeterred, pushed forward relentlessly.

Akuna's heart raced with fear as she watched him, knowing the dangers that lurked beyond the gate. But she couldn't bring herself to intervene or reveal the secrets she had been keeping.

As Xylon drew closer to the barrier between the farm and the abyss, the pressure built up within him. He strained against the limits of his mortal form, desperate to tap into the dark energy that lay just out of reach.

Finally, the forces of the abyss took hold of him and pulled him through, dragging him into the realm of demon souls.

For a moment, Xylon was speechless as he looked around him when the deafening noise came again, awestruck by the dark, twisted landscape of fire and brimstone .

Xylon's body shook uncontrollably as he stood there, his eyes transfixed on the abyss before him. He could feel the dark energy coursing through him, burning like fire in his veins. Each breath he took became more labored as the air around him grew thinner, suffocating him.

He tried to resist, to pull away from the abyss, but it was too late. The power had consumed him, pulling him deeper and deeper until he could no longer hear anything around him. The world had become nothing but a blur of darkness and chaos.

Minutes turned into hours as Xylon's body continued to tingle and burn. He was falling apart, piece by piece, and he knew that he needed to get out of there. But he couldn't move, couldn't even cry out for help. He was trapped, lost in the abyss.

Just when he thought he couldn't take it any longer, he was thrown out of the abyss and back into the farm. His body lay motionless on the ground, his breathing shallow and labored. He had never been meant to leave the farm, but somehow the dark energy had taken him beyond its boundaries.

Akuna stood over him, her eyes filled with concern. She had watched as Xylon was consumed by the abyss, and she had feared that he would never return. But he had, and now she could only pray that he would recover from whatever had happened to him in that dark place.

Akuna's heart was racing as she saw Xylon lying there motionless, his body severely burned from the dark energy he had tried to harness. She frantically asked him questions, desperate for any sign of life. But there was no response, no movement. The air around them seemed to be thick with despair, and Akuna could feel her own panic rising.

As she looked at Xylon's burned skin, she knew what she had feared most had happened. She was angry, frustrated, and filled with a sense of betrayal. "It's your mistake, Arthur!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the empty farm.
