Chapter 9: Oh… fuck

Mihael was back in his room.

Medium in size, one bed, two tables, and some odd paintings on the wall.

Not much else.

This was his first time sitting on his comfy bed, and possibly the last-

"To think you managed to wound lord Xorax, though it be for a moment, you truly are a prodigy…" She said- "Perhaps I wasn't wrong to choose you-" Actually she still had her doubts.

Slightly out of breath, she barely held together.

"How long do you plan on staying like that?" he said pointing at the angel and her wounds.

Bleeding from her forehead- one broken wing-

Slight heavy breathing.

"These were inflicted by a god… I must wear them with honor and-"

Flick!

MIhael flicked his fingers-

The wounds disappeared with a warm light.

"Can't be cured with normal healing spells…" Her voice died down, with a gulp. "Never mind." She cleared her throat. "Anyway. Given how you pissed off our god, it's best we leave this place and head over to the Etherioum estate and admit you into the Godness Gracicus academy. I don't believe my lord holds grudges, but we can't be sure…." Her voice again trailed off.

The original plan was to teach Mihael some manners and godly etiquette and then ask Xorax to sponsor him.

However-

"Unnecessary. Though, I suppose experiencing what it likes to be in an academy setting and messing with- ahem… causing mischief might not be so bad…" For a second there, he might or might not have spilled some beans he didn't want to…

Sarveisa giggled… "Sure, sure…" A faint smile. "It's kind of bad but- let's just get out of here…"

"You sure? You'll be leaving the protection of your god and thus- would become a renegade…"

"Doesn't matter. You can just become one and offer me protection, right?"

A shrug. "But of course."

"Then that's fine…"

And yet-

Mihael stared at the angel-

The angel who was ready to just give up her life-

For a gamble.

Was she sane or was she just a literal genius- he couldn't understand.

But either way-

Mihael respected her wishes…

And thus-

***

Sarveisa and Mihael strode out of the god's castle, heading for Etherioum estate in the east.

This particular estate didn't have any individual housing. Rather they had buildings- and apartments.

Angels could buy an apartment and live in peace.

They didn't need to serve any particular god for this pleasure-

And they weren't provided with any protection for that either.

Renegades.

"But how will you pay?" Mihael asked.

Flying.

They were flying.

Over the clouds-

To the island next door.

Lots of buildings-

Thousands of angels flying about-

Minding their own business, doing their thing.

"I've saved up a fair sum over the years. Let's say the rainy day came earlier than expected."

Mihael rolled his eyes. "How much of this did you expect?"

"None, actually. I only went over to your place because of my curiosity. I didn't expect myself to pick you up, didn't expect myself to defend you and certainly didn't expect myself to leave with you." A faint smile- "Yet."

It was odd.

Odd how the high angel was speaking to a child- as though they were equals.

At times Sarveisa did question the sanity of the whole prospect, and yet-

"Really." A grin. "But it was wise, Sarveisa."

"At least call me Miss Sarveisa… and I wouldn't mind you calling me big sis or master…."

"No thank you. Not interested."

A bit irritated-

Sarveisa increased her speed and together they flew straight for one of the buildings below.

***

They chose a small apartment with two rooms.

There was nothing inside other than just beds and some towels.

Sarveisa had three reasons for choosing this apartment and Mihael not going back to his place.

One, she still intended on teaching Mihael all she knew and help him become a god.

Two, Mihael had to eventually go to school- but given his mental sanctity, Sarveisa figured, he could manage even at this age and Etheorium estate just happened to be the closest.

And three-

"Now, I want you to sit down here- and meditate."

At Mihael's new room.

Definitely smaller than his room back home-

Just a bed, and nothing else.

Nothing.

"Meditate?" Mihael said- almost offended.

"Yes. The closer you are to the world tree- the faster you can mediate and grow stronger!" Meanwhile, Sarveisa was pumped!

Lips a bit wobbly, annoyance plastered on his face. "Not interested."

A sigh. "Now listen here Mihael! I gave up everything for you. At least give me this one thing? Please? Just for one hour?" She started by ordering but then remembered the whole thing with the god and changed her tone immediately… sniffing, staring at him with puffy - puppy dog eyes…

"Five minutes."

"Fine!"

The angel grinned. 'Once he learns how fast this is-'

Though at the corner, they were still in the royal zone-

Aka- the closest to the world tree.

And the closer they were- the faster they could grow stronger from just meditating and cleanse themselves.

Mihael was a prodigy. If he could mediate in his spare time, and learn various things- surely, he could achieve godhood in less than a year! Or so she thought.

The two sat down, crossed-legged- relaxed their bodies-

Drawing in the world energy!

Five minutes later-

"How do you feel?" She said, a grin plastered on her face.

"Nothing."

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing changed."

Sarveisa's mouth hung… "Oh…Fuck…" She forgot Lesser angels couldn't grow stronger from meditation-

Oh fuck, indeed.
