Chapter 40: Maybe
Phoenix City...
4:00 PM....
As the sun slowly settled on the horizon breathing its last, waiting to be resurrected the next day, two teenagers could be seen arguing whilst walking on the pedestrian sideway.
One of then, a teenager with bright blue eyes but tanned skin which seemed to contradict with each other, was the most active person in the conversation.
Whilst the other, a handsome teenager, continued to snort. Without doubt, he was annoyed at the constant pestering of his friend.
These two teenagers were none other than Aiden and Ace as they walked towards the library. They decided to walk on their way to the library since they forgot their backpacks.
"Will we meet her by this time? I think the Library closes around this time!" Ace said after a while.
"Oh, don't worry about that. She will be there. And also, the library doesn't close around this time!" Aiden replied.
After walking for a while, a White building entered their line of sight. This building was none other than the City Library.
"Is it me or this building feels like its a living being?" Ace asked in a hushed voice.
"Why you being so secretive?" Aiden raised his brows but Ace didn't answer si he continued, " You aren't the only one. I can also feel it. It feels like it is a living being with almost all the knowledge in the world!"
"Heh, it's no wonder, Chelsea would decide to stay here!" Ace said with a slight nod.
They duo continued to observe the library for a while before entering the building. As they entered the library, a refreshing feeling washed over them making them extremely comfortable.
"Haaah...."
Ace couldn't help but let out a sigh. A lot of things had taken place today and they were placed in a lot of dangerous situations. All of these took a toll on their mental and he couldn't help but release all the built up tiredness when he felt the comfortable wave wash over him.
"You seem really tired... " Ace heard a voice that made his eyes immediately brighten up in delight.
Standing in front of them was Chelsea with a slight smile on her face and some books in her hand.
"Of course... Alot of things happened today," Aiden said.
"Hmm... Anyway, why are you here?" Chelsea asked with a raised brow.
"Oh about that.... We came here to ask for some extra time to prepare!" Ace interjected even before Aiden could speak. Aiden just rolled his eyes uppom seeing his friend's behaviour.
Chelsea frowned upon hearing their words making Aiden realise that something was wrong.
"Sigh... This would be problematic!" Chelsea said.
"What do you mean?"
"Come, let's settle down first!" Chelsea ignored Ace's question and beckoned them to come.
It was only at this time that they realised that thy were standing in front of the Library's door all this while without even moving a feet.
Chelsea headed to her counter, placed the books down before returning to the duo who had already taken their seats in one of the many seats in the library.
"About the time, I would like to ask you if you know what time of the year it is?" Chelsea asked calmly.
"The first month? January?" Ace asked.
"Yes. And do you know what this time also signifies?" Chelsea asked.
"A new year?" Ace mumbled.
"Yes, it does signify that, but it isn't the only thing it signifies! This time of the year also signifies the Entrance Ceremony for new students in the Academy!" Chelsea exclaimed.
"The entrance ceremony is going to take place a week from now! The time it would take for us to travel from here to the Academy if approximately four days. We have to leave here by tommorrow to arrive before the Ceremony starts, else, even with my influence, you wouldn't be able to get into the Academy"
"Ohh... I see!" Aiden nodded gravely. He now understood why Chelsea wanted to leave so fast.
It turns out that she wanted to get to the Academy before the ceremony starts.
Also, he realised one thing. He had no idea, which Academy they were talking about. He always heard them use the word 'Academy' and not even a single person had mentioned the name of the Academy.
'It seems like I will have to find out about what Academy it is. I will definitely ask Ace later on!' Aiden thought.
Eventhough he had no idea about which Academy it was, he had a fair idea about what Academy they were going to.
According to what he knew from his previous world, the planet they were on wasn't humanity's home planet: Earth. Instead, he was born on this planet, called Dawn.
Dawn was extremly small when compared to other heavenly planets (Name given to planers that are human hospitable apart from earth). This was why they were relatively backward when it came to technology.
However, just like any planet, Dawn also produced mages... Sometimes.
Whenever a new Mage is produced on any city, they will have to go the nearest Academy to them.
Why go to other cities to study? Well, it was because training Mages came with the use of a lot of resources and also a huge amount of land space.
However, small cities like Phoenix City had no access to those resources. According to what Aiden knew, only the Academy in the city could train mages. It must be the place Chelsea was talking about.
The name of the Academy was The Four Seasons Academy in Aiden's previous world. However, he wasnt so sure if it was the same name. After all, this was a new world after all.
And any wold had it's on unique niche and rules. It might be that the name they used in their previous world would be different from this one. Even though, the only thing he had seen change ever since he arrived in this world was science and magic, he was sure there was alot more gojng on that whaat he sees.
