Chapter 3: Hidden Perception
Hello again keeping who ever actually likes this shit show up to date, I plan on letting the 'wild' arc go on for about 20 chapters. Also one more thing, some may be confused why persona is in the tags. well this chapter might explain it for ya

'a mask?' ' a mask ' " a bloody mask" he says in disbelief. "bruh I was that worried about a little face covering" he says like a broken record
" whelp that was dumb, however considering it came out a wierd looking chest I'd say it's best I keep it with me. Who knows might be like the masks in hollow knight giving me more heart's"
he simply picks up the mask when suddenly it springs upon his face. "AAH WIERD MASK THING GET IT OFF" in the midst of his panic he doesn't notice the mask slowly become translucent
Suddenly he can't feel anything else on his face, he sighs in relief as he slips backwards into the water. His consciousness goes blank as the water surrounds him.
Luckily his body due to it's previous panicked state went on Autopilot and uses the rock he stood on before to breach the surface once more [deep breath]
"JESUS almost I almost died- whelp- guess this is- the result of idio- cy-" he struggles in-between breaths as he wades back from the water onto land
he takes one final deep breath a minute later before he feels he can talk again. "aight so what did we learn brain 'not to fuck around with masks in-' NOT TO FUCK WITH THEM IN GENERAL"
As he berates himself once more he stands up, gasping from shadow pains of drowning. ' man I'm under prepared for this scenario ' as the realization hits him he becomes more aware of his surroundings
It's already nighttime ' well I'm tired, wet, exhausted, and traumatized couldn't get any worse at the very least ' unbothered from the outside he gets his Teepee placed on the sand
' whelp I at the very least need to sleep for tomorrow ' he shivering from the cold walks up to the nearest broken leaves to cover his Teepee entrance
With a small mishmash of ripped and torn leaves 'i don't even wanna know what broke them like that given their strength' alongside some long grasses he tore from the ground he makes a leaf tarp after 2 hours of hard and grueling work.
' whelp It doesn't have the best protection from the elements but it'll do for now ' Ignoring the small insects entering his Teepee due to his exhaustion Kymani passes out

???: ah a new contractor how unexpected
I immediately shoot my body up with impressive energy ready for whatever I see " What in the- no where in the hell am I " I say in confusion at my surroundings
Around me is a beach but anywhere further seems to be covered by a thick fog "I must say this is quite the place, fog covering up anything but the little world you seem to surround yourself in."
me still completely confused about this situation ask aggressively in an attempt to intimidate the old man " WHERE AM I YOU FU- " suddenly I can't seem to finish the word as I get hit on the neck by what seems to be a stick
" hello I'm sorry but we don't allow that sort of language at this resort " I turn around Confused and slightly pissed
I look to see ' Twins? ' this stops me immediately as I look to observe the situation
one seem to be wearing a white tropical dress having a tied braid hidden under a huge sunhat that has stitched in O-Y-O-O with a cocky expression alongside the stick that hit me.
'why is she wearing white fishnets thought those were out of styles I get I'm at a beach but still'
and one with a dress having a slit, held together by a red ribbon near her waist with purple flower designs on it. With buns in her hair and another sunhat stitch spelling X-M-R-N, she calmly watches me.
'ok the fishnet thing definitely must be a family thing, where am I though I remember going to sleep'
They both move towards what I now see is a food truck that old man seems to be sitting in, and sit down on nearby chairs under large umbrella's
" well that was one of the most outlandish things I've seen a wildcard do " The old man smiles in amusement with me patiently waiting for what he wants to say
" I do believe introductions are in order however time is running out rather quickly due to your outburst " this makes him lose his smile for a second before he catches himself and starts again
"however we do have time for basic introductions" He shakes his hands methodically "this is the velvet room where your consciousness and subconscious meet"
He speeds along as if not to waste any time " You may refer to me as Igor" he points to bun girl " this is Caroline " and he points to braid girl " And this is Justine "
I wanted to continue this conversation but suddenly the fog starts to encroach upon his food truck " ah it seems we ran out of time, well we shall meet again contractor "
I hadn't even the second to respond as suddenly the fog surrounds me and suddenly- "AAH" I wake up in my Teepee with light blasting in my eye
I pat down my body making sure I'm completely fine before sighing letting go of a breath I didn't know I was holding
"What in the actual living fuck was that" I keep breathing heavily reminiscing the events. 'What was that place' 'who were those people'
'what the fuck is a wild card'
These thoughts kept draining me like a plague so I took a very deep breath and let it out, time slipped by as I did this for almost 10 minutes before I calmed down
' In hindsight maybe I overreacted but in my defense that dude Igor kept poking the bear '
You think of that as Igor reminded you your in what's likely a whole new world
The realization you tried so hard not to come to... Your never seeing your friends or family again
Memories start to flood your brain as you remember everything you did in life, your mind struggles at this series of mental torture that ragged at your brain
....Until you just couldn't handle it anymore [Tears up] you cry, your mind not even recognizing if anything was at the beach
You were in pain, you were grieving..... and you are alone

Hello from your dear lovely author, I tried my best to keep to the characters personalities, actually am going to buy the game tomorrow to get a more detailed take on the characters, also sorry for the late upload was busy VERY busy today alongside homework but I worked through it and still got it done before 12
Sidenote in case you didn't realize the MC is depressed, and getting transported to a random place didn't help with that at all, I wonder how he is gonna deal with that 🤔
