Chapter 263: "Should he take the risk?"

Jonathan awoke before his alarm rang. Staring at the ceiling, lost in thought, his wandering mind returned after two minutes when the alarm went off. 

He silenced the alarm, sat up in the lounge bed, and stretched lazily. 

"Time to get to work," he muttered.

The communicator showed the time as 23:21, nearing midnight. Today was the first day back, August 31, month's end.

The rush to meet the month-end goals seemed quite reasonable.

Crystal had sent a message stating he had successfully controlled a rat to infiltrate the Mechanical Dawn sub-division around ten in the evening. However, due to the labyrinthine conduits, he was still navigating his way, and by nearly midnight, no further update had been received.

Jonathan texted him: "How's the situation?"
