Chapter 345: A Beautiful Mind, Part 1

I loved dealing with smart people. You barely have to say anything to get them on the same page as you. Frankly, it was a refreshing experience with Faustus. He was usually too adlebrained to even remind us to not blow ourselves up when we made potions. 

"Yes," I answered his question about the Challenge. "And I've been invited to compete in it." 

"Truly?"

I nodded. 

"Impressive." 

'I know,' was what I wanted to say, but frankly, knowing my invite was just a ruse created for me by Team Lumen, I couldn't exactly feel too proud. So, instead, I said, "Um, thanks…" 

He noticed my negativity and mistook it for hesitation.
