Chapter 23: Chapter 18 - 2 Years Later [2]
There was a barren land with cracked soil and no greenery for miles in a dark world filled with the aura of death.
And there was a man in that barren land with one arm and a body riddled with cuts and injuries. He was panting heavily and gasping for air.
In front of him stood a dark shadow wielding a scythe, resembling the god of death. It slashed its scythe at the man who was gasping for air, but the man moved his body backward to avoid the attack after sensing the incoming attack.
"Haaa... haa..." The man took a deep breath, but he knew he had no time to continue as the dark shadow moved and carried on with its attacks.
The attacks that stormed at him were aimed at his head, his remaining arm, and his chest, but he was able to dodge all of them by distorting space and leaving an afterimage.
The man then vanished in front of the shadow figure and reappeared in the distance.
'Rewind Regeration'
He thought in his head, and after that, his wounds started to heal, starting from his lower body and moving up to his upper body, and then his right arm started to regenerate.
Bones, muscles, and then flesh began to form in a sequence as his right arm regenerated. He then teleported towards an area with a hand on the ground, and he took the ring off its finger.
A sword then appeared in his arms; he was no longer breathing heavily due to the skill he used, and as he waited for his breathing to calm down.
"Haaa... Fuuuuu..."
Black mana started to pour out of his body and infuse into his sword. He then saw the dark shadow rush at him, but his expression remained calm, and he disappeared.
The shadow hurriedly looked around his surroundings, but when he still didn't see the man, he became confused about where the man disappeared to.
'Spatial Sword Art: Void Severing Slash'
The man appeared above the shadow and slashed down his sword, and the shadow figure was sliced in half, and the remaining shadow disappeared like when Thanos snapped.
As the shadow figure finally died, the surrounding environment changed as vegetation grew across the land and grass, flowers, and trees of many kinds appeared. The sky above was then cleared of the dark clouds, and the clear blue sky became visible as the sun burned brightly, filling the whole world with light.
And Lax, the man, stared into the spatial crack that appeared after defeating the last boss. He then entered, and he found himself back in the temple.
After a year, he finally defeated the boss inside the 10th floor, so he was currently very happy, but he had no time to celebrate as the fatigue that built up from overusing his mana made him faint.
"Lax! Are you-...." Before he closed his eyes, he saw Nia running toward him with a face full of worry, and then he fainted.
Nia then brought him to her room, resting him on the bed as she sat beside him, removing his blindfold and putting it on the desk. She then stared at his handsome face while grinning for a while.
After staring for a while, she became sleepy as it was already midnight, so she crawled inside the blanket and rested her face on her favorite spot on Lax's chest, rubbing her face while she was at it, then snuggled in a comfortable position as she removed her pants.

Now back in the present, Lax stood up from his bed and wore his blindfold that he found lying on top of the desk. The fatigue from before was no longer there as he stretched his body. And behind him, Nia asked in a worried voice.
"Are you fine now, Lax?"
"Yeah, you don't have to worry anymore, Nia. I just fainted from overusing my mana with the fight I had with the boss."
"So I'm okay now, or rather, I'm actually full of energy right now." He assured Nia as he posed like a bodybuilder, seeing that Nia was relieved as she giggled a little.
They left their room and headed to the dining table, where they ate the food Raymond had prepared for them. After they finished, they thanked Raymond and headed back to his room.
Over the last two years, the temple accepted two more apostles besides Lax and NIa, however, they weren't given a blessing by the gods but instead got taught by two angels on how to use and control mana.
And after they managed to learn how to properly use and control mana after a few months they were given a blessing by the Archangel Evangelina called a 'system'.
Just like the ones from the manhwas Lax read, they can see their status skills and level up. Nia, on the other hand, had one too, but it was different from the one the archangel gave as it was given by the goddess.
Her system already had an affinity and physique category when she was given one. Nia's physique was the Lightning Empress Physique, and obviously, her affinity was lightning.
Usually, getting a physique is very rare, even if it's just a low-ranking one, but with the goddess's blessing, she was immediately given a god-rank physique.
As for affinities, you can acquire elemental affinities when you reach 5th class, and the affinity you acquire will depend on what element you have great affinity with.
Also, Nia is very lucky that she was blessed with a god-rank physique, as not every god will grant one to anyone, even their apostles. Even Lax wasn't given one, not because they were unwilling but because the god of space and time didn't have a physique to grant as they never had apostles before.
When Lax heard that, he had a sad look on his face, so when the two gods saw that, they told him that they were going to create a physique that's suitable for him, however, it will be a low-rank one, and it will depend on him to evolve it.
Lax was very happy that he would be given a physique, as that can make him stronger even if it's a low-ranked one, so he thanked the gods from the bottom of his heart.
Now Lax arrived in front of his room, entered, and took a bath. After he finished washing himself, he wore his clothes and the spatial ring as he headed to the front of the temple.
