Chapter 7: Chapter 7

The sun shined through the trees, gently laying upon Kakashi's face, comforting his face like a lover, leaving warmth in its wake, as the sunlight rose to his eyes, Kakashi jerked up.

"Ugh!" Kakashi recoiled from the pain in his chest. Looking down, Kakashi found a sword slash from his right shoulder to his left hip.

"Congratulations White Wolf, you survived the night."

Kakashi turned his head and found Miyamoto in a seating position, facing the sun. Kakashi looked around and found himself deep in the forest.

"Where are we?" Kakashi asked in pain.

"Somewhere in a forest in the land of fire," Miyamoto said sombrely.

Kakashi didn't ask any more questions, because he was annoyed with the answer he was given and didn't want another.

After a few minutes, Miyamoto stood up and tied the scroll to his back before turning to Kakashi.

"Come, White Wolf, we set off for the leaf village." Miyamoto walked in a general direction and lifted Kakashi to his feet when he passed by him.

"Ugh!" Kakashi let out a grunt of pain as he landed on his feet.

Kakashi followed Miyamoto through the forest, dodging branches and roots as they walked.

"What happened to my squad?" Kakashi said, clutching his chest as he spoke.

"They are where I left them," Miyamoto said, barely giving a satisfactory answer to his question.

"Do you mean the town?" Kakashi asked again, clutching his chest in pain as he spoke.

"They are where I left them," Miyamoto said.

"Where did you leave them!?" Kalashi shouted before curling in pain.

Miyamoto turned around and saw Kakashi on the ground, curled up in pain and decided to stop being a dick.

"They're in the town," Miyamoto said before he continued to walk away.

Kakashi pushed through his pain and stood back up, following Miyamoto again.

After a few minutes, Mkyamoto and Kakashi found themselves on a road, Miyamoto sat down on the edge of the road and began meditating.

"What are you doing?" Kakashi asked as he stood above Miyamoto.

"Rest, White Wolf, we will travel again when the time presents itself," Miyamoto said.

Kakashi sighed in defeat, knowing that Miyamoto won't budge even if he tried to convince him. Kakashi sat down next to Miyamoto and let time pass by.

"Tell me, White Wolf, why is your left eye red?" Miyamoto asked, his eyes still closed.

Kakashi didn't want to talk about it, but he would do anything to distract him from the pain.

"It's called a Sharingan. It allows me to copy ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu I see, it gives me clarity of perception, giving me fast reflexes as well as reading lips perfectly."

Kakashi turned to Miyamoto to see him starting back.

"What a powerful tool." Miyamoto looked at the eye and then went back to meditating, almost seeming uninterested by this.

After a few seconds of silence, Kakashi asked Miyamoto a question.

"My eye also allows me to see chakra, so could you tell me how you don't have any?" Kakashi looked at Miyamoto with curiosity half expecting him to say some vague bullshkt instead of answering.

Miyamoto wasn't sure how to answer Kakashi, he wondered if he told him he was from a different world, he might do something that could ruin everything for Miyamoto.

"I'm not sure, it's been this way since birth."

Kakashi turned back to face the road, contemplating theories on how he was born without chakra.

"Now a question for you, White Wolf, who are you, and why do I keep running into so many masked assassins?"

Kakashi turned to Miyamoto, surprised that he has run into more Anbus.

"They are called Anbu black ops. Did you run into some when you were in the land of water?" Kakashi asks, wanting to hear more.

"Anbu? Hmm. Dark side. So are you guys the ones that do the dirty work?" Miyamoto said this as a statement more than a question, and Kakashi caught onto that.

"And yes, I did run into the Anbu black ops in the land of water, I left before I fought them, I suspect that they will be hunting me down."

Kakashi stopped listening after Miyamoto said he left without a fight. 'Are the Anbu in the mist village that dumb?' He thought to himself.

After a few more moments of silence, a rumble and a horse neighing caught the attention of Kakashi.

Kakashi looked down the road and saw a horse pulling a wagon with a man in a hat driving it.

Miyamoto stood up, and as the wagon got closer, he spoke to the driver.

"Hello, sir, would it be possible if you could drop us off at or near the leaf village?"

The man driving the wagon shook his head.

"No can do, I need to deliver these goods to a town opposite where the leaf village is."

"Could you take us to where you would split off from?"

The driver stopped his cart and pondered over the idea, he glanced at Miyamoto and then asked.

"Can you deal with any bandits we run into?"

"I could take care of bandits if we run into any."

The driver smiled.

"Hop in."

Miyamoto bowed slightly before he and Kakashi hopped into the back where food, material, and other goods were stored.

Miyamoto untied the scroll and placed it next to him as he sat on the side of the wagon.

"Rest, White Wolf, you'll need it."

Kakashi laid down on some of the crates and drifted off to sleep.

"Hey, bud."

Miyamoto turned his head to the driver.

"Are you a samurai?"

"No, I am a ronin."

"Ah, is that your sword?"

"No, I killed a rogue shinobi for it."

For the rest of the drive, this was how most of the conversations went...
