"Mom won't allow it." The young girl murmured, unconsciously gripping the side of her light pink skirt while her lips slightly quivered. Adrienne looked at Scarlett and compared the girl to a baby doll.

"Why not?" Adrienne probed. "Having a pet teaches you how to be responsible. You need to feed them, bathe them, and tend to them when they are sick. You also need to give them proper exercise so they won't get bored. Teaching them to obey you isn't easy either. It's like having a child reliant on you."

"But I'm still young too. Can I raise it by myself?" Scarlett turned her head for the first time to look at Adrienne and was stunned upon seeing her face. She knew her mother was beautiful. Her mother was always seen on TV, and many people liked her, but this young lady before her looked like a fairy who transcended into the mortal world.
