Chapter 3: My class has ‘intelligent’ people

The sound of the bell interrupts my lunch break, signaling that it's time to return to class. I begrudgingly make my way back to my seat, dreading the start of the next lesson: Math.

Mathematics, with its complexity and lack of emotional depth, is universally despised by many students. It can feel monotonous and chilly, as if there's no real meaning behind the numerical values we're working with. It's a stark contrast to other subjects that allow for more creativity and interpretation.

I often find myself annoyed by the students in my class who proudly proclaim their love for math and eagerly raise their hands to answer questions. It feels like a performance, as if they're trying to prove their intelligence to the rest of us. But I also can't help but feel a twinge of envy towards their confidence and ability to find joy in a subject that I struggle with.

As I prepare for the upcoming math lesson, I try to remind myself that every subject has its own unique challenges and rewards. While math may not come naturally to me, I can still make an effort to understand it and appreciate its importance in our daily lives.
