Chapter 54: The Evil Twin IV

Irwin gazed around the town square, his shaded eyes scanning for a large black man in a tweed jacket, Doctor Jennings. A bluetooth earpiece, small enough to fit in his entire ear, connected to a radio receiver that was also linked to two nearby receivers.

"Dark Knight, do you copy?" He rolled his eyes, stealthily pressing the receiver as he took a sip from a straw.

<Copy, Teen Wolf. No sign of the doctor, yet. How's the jammer coming in?>

Dean's voice came through the earpiece. Irwin sighed. It was the man's idea to wear the earpiece when he saw them in Irwin's bag. He and Sam tried to stop him, but the hunter resisted their reasons.

"Jammers are on. Once we see, ugh, Eagle, I'll activate it." Irwin responded. "Eyes out, Dark Knight. Check if Adam Chandler is here."

<Copy, Pup.>

Irwin scoffed, rolling his eyes once more. "Don't change my codename, Wonder Boy!"

<Screw you, Teen Wolf.>

Irwin rolled his eyes, wishing he had joined the other team, but sacrifices had to be made for the sake of the world, he supposed.

Not soon after, the clock tower showed the time. Five minutes before the appointed murder.

With that in mind, Irwin went inside of the gun store and asked for the keys to the toilet. The owner was hesitant, but once Irwin slid him $100, he was eager to show him the way.

Once inside, Irwin took out the handheld makeup mirror and drew a vial of Andrew's blood from his left pocket. His voice was low and barely a whisper as he chanted the invocation for the Blood Scry spell.

"Ostende mihi hoc sanguine propius…"

The chants invigorated the magik dwelling deep within Irwin as it coursed through his hands and into the mirror. With a silent wave of magical energy, the mirror broke as the wave returned to the mirror.

Acting like a supernatural radar, Irwin circled around to see a blood-red mark on the north-western side of the gun store.

"Got him. North-west side of the gun store. Don't approach. Keep your distance. I'll handle the doctor. Copy?" He hastily ordered Dean through the radio as he exited the bathroom and went into the display cases of the store.

<Got you. I see him. Damn, that is that waiter. That son of a bitch.>

Hearing Dean's irritation on the radio, Irwin took out his phone and pretended to call someone. "Dean. Calm down. If makes you, that means he can kill you. He's that powerful."

"What's that, sir?" The owner, standing behind the display cases, asked, barely hearing Irwin's words.

He smiled at him. "Ah, nothing. Do you have a model M1911 colt?"

"Oh, we have one in the back. Let me just check!"

"No rush!" Irwin nodded, waiting for Dean's answer. "Dean! Do you copy? I repeat, do not engage!"

Irwin checked the blood mark and saw it moving forward, walking normally going by the rate of movement. He considered his next actions before cursing his luck and running out the door.

He took out a handkerchief and tied it to hide his face as he noticed Dr. Jennings. Irwin silently said his apologies as he drew his revolver from his shoulder holster and aimed at the doctor.

The doctor could not even look surprised at the gun, before a loud bang echoed around the square as Dr. Jennings' figure drops to the floor, legs bleeding profusely from the bullet wound.

Irwin scanned for the mark and saw it running northwards and so he followed, crossing the streets as he checked for any sign of Dean Winchester.

Just as he sprinted past the bus stop, a sudden force launched him off the ground and sent him tumbling down the curb. His suit acted as a pad to soften the fall as he took on the face of his attacker.

Dean Winchester, with a glare on his face, swung his left arm and punched Irwin in the nose. The punch itself did not hurt that much. It was the hard bounce of his head against the asphalt that angered him.

Irwin strained against the hunter as he threw Dean off of him, before the latter could follow up his first hit. He rolled to the ground, facing the mind-controlled hunter, and rushed at him.

Dean, having rolled to the ground by the strength of the push, tried to get up, but before he could, Irwin's knees hit him square in the face. He stumbled further away, his rolling stooping when the afternoon sun hit his bloodied face. His nose was broken and cheekbones shattered, but he still got up. A blood-filled testament to his will and anger.

Dean roared as he shakily retrieved his gun and aimed at Irwin. The latter, seeing the weapon, leaped towards the bus stop, where fewer people could see him as he readied his hands and magik.

Dean unleashed a barrage of bullets, his accuracy dead-on as the ammunition hit its mark. Unfortunately for him, Irwin had been ready as he crossed his arm and chanted repeatedly.

"Sine detrimento est…"

A shimmering field of purple energy appeared around him and embraced his body comfortably. Every bullet that hit the energy shield caused a ripple as the shield absorbed the momentum of the bullets, falling down to the floor with a metallic clink.

As soon as Dean's weapon ran out of bullets, Irwin ran towards him and leaped. His body soaring through the air as he bent his knees and landed on Dean's stomach. The weight of his body and the momentum of his fall forced Dean into unconsciousness as bits of bile flew out of his mouth.

Without a moment's hesitation, Irwin left Dean and ran after Ansem, whose blood mark still showed that he was within a fifty-mile vicinity.

He ran and ran, legs burning from the intensity, muscles nearly tearing apart as he ran past the ambulance, then the police cruisers.

Like an untiring, unrelenting terminator, Irwin sprinted across the city, not once removing the strain of magik on his eyes as he used it to track Ansem. He had already figured out that he was in a get-away car, but also knew that Ansem did not expect that he would still be chasing him.

As he crossed another alley, his enhanced eyes caught the sight of the nearby blood mark hanging over a blue car. His sweating, red face now bore a smile as he used his last bits of energy and pushed forwards with greater speed.

He grew closer, his eyes catching the sight of Ansem Weems calling someone. Fearing the worst, Irwin dismissed the Blood Scry, the blood mark disappearing, as he took out a wet hex bag and muttered in a voice coated in magik. "Flagello!"

He willed the azure flames to pierce through the car and take control of the wheel and it did. Like a blazing snake, the flaming whip pierced through the driver's window with crisp shatter and slithered around the wheel, quickly melting the plastic cover.

Ansem, surprised and horrified by the appearance of the flaming whip, looked back and saw Irwin as he hurriedly commanded him. "Stop mov-"

Before he could finish his words, Irwin abruptly halted his burning legs as he flexed his biceps and willed the flames to turn the car onto the sidewalk.

It was as if his left arm was being pulled apart strand by strand. His nerves were taut with magik and danger, quivering under the stress of his flexed muscles.

"ARGH!"

But his hard work paid off as the car bumped off the sidewalk curb and crashed into the side of a building. Smoke billowed forth, followed by a slew of rubble that smashed into the car window.

The flames fizzled out as Irwin fell to his knees, nursing his left arm from another set of flames bubbling within. He gazed at his arm, shocked to see it full of dark and blue bruises as it trembled from the sheer agony.

He fought through the pain, standing shakily as he willed himself to numb the agonizing feeling. Trudging past the rubble, he stood before the broken driver's window as the sight of an unconscious and possibly dying Ansem bore into his eyes.

"Simon says you're a bitch."

He spat at his bloodied face before calling the emergency services with his right hand. "This is Special Agent Aaron Hotchner. A suspect crashed his car into a building. Yeah, he's in need of an ambulance. There was also a gunshot victim near the square… That's good. Have you officers on standby. I'm going to do a first-aid on the suspect. Send an ambulance ASAP!"

Irwin unlocked the car door and forced it open, disturbing the rubble as it slid further into the car. He checked Ansem's pulse and found it erratic, bordering on a heart attack.

Irwin cursed his luck, trying his best to make sure Ansem stayed alive before the ambulance arrived. "Damnit, I should have learned some healing spells."
