Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Presents From The Parents

Noticing everyone's astounded expressions didn't amuse me this time; in fact, I was starting to get slightly annoyed at how easily they were getting shocked or surprised; if this continues, we'll never finish this banquet.

"Haa, I think I've had enough surprises in one day for the next thousand years." Said Birger quietly while rubbing his head in exhaustion.

"I'm going to have one hell of a talk with my parents when I return home. Hehe." Stated Goliath with a weird expression while slightly chuckling.

"I don't even think my parents will believe me when I tell them." Remarked Echo with a forced smile.

"I think I'll be going on a vacation before returning to the Half-sect." Said Shelia with an audible gulp while inhaling the fragrance emitting from the seed.

Ignoring the flabbergasted people, which was nearly everyone, I focused my attention on Eyvor, who had been blankly staring at the golden chest this entire time. With a sigh, I again reached my arm forward and formed a hand-sized purple palm that I used to shut the golden chest, finally breaking Eyvor out of her daze.

"P-Prince Elif, I-I can't accept this; this, this is far too much." Said Eyvor through her stuttering as she reluctantly floated the golden chest to Elif.

"Hmm, well, what am I supposed to do with it? I have no need for it, nor do I ever tend to plant it; the designated area where we would plant this seed is already filled. Not to mention, we have tens of these in our treasury, so it's not like we lack them. Besides, don't you have a garden? Planting this seed will bring massive benefits to your garden far in the future." Stated Elif casually as he dismissively waved his quạt tay while floating the golden chest back toward Eyvor.

"E-Even so, Prince Elif, I-I can't just accept this present." Retorted Eyvor with a reluctant and troubled expression as she attempted to float the chest toward Elif once again, though he stopped her with his own Qi.

"Enough of this back and forth, Eyvor, keep it; this is your present. Unless you don't appreciate my kindness?" Questioned Elif with a frown, his words trapping Eyvor between a rock and an immovable object.

"N-No, not at all, Prince Elif; I greatly appreciate your kindness; I-I just believed I wasn't worthy of this present, that's all. However, if you insist, I'll gladly accept your gift." Replied Eyvor with an awkward smile as she stored the golden chest in her dimension ring.

Seeing Eyvor accept the gift, I lightly smiled as I returned to what I was doing before, which was eating lightning cherries, while she and everyone else took a minute to regain their composure before she grabbed the last dimension ring from the table on a golden plate labeled Parents.

After inspecting the dimension ring, she summoned the contents of the ring, which amounted to a total of three items; one item was in a chest or box, the second item looked to be a book, and the last item seemed to be a token or medallion of some sort.

'Hmm, that symbol; I've seen it before. If I'm not mistaken, that is the symbol for the Realm sect.' Pondered Elif with a thoughtful expression as he eyed the medallion with an eye symbol.

"The one on the right is mine, the one in the middle is your Mother's, and the one on the far left is a gift from both of us, dear." Said Patriarch with an eager smile while glancing at Eyvor.

"Well then, I'll start from right to left." Remarked Eyvor with a light smile, most of her enthusiasm having been drained from her previous present.

"This medallion; it's from the Realm sect, correct, Father?" Asked Eyvor as she examined the black medallion in her hand.

"Yes, it is, and obviously, I wouldn't just give my precious daughter an ordinary medallion; that right there is possibly one of the most precious gifts you can get from the Realm sect. An Insight medallion." Said Patriarch with a smile; his words once again caused a disturbance in the dining hall, though, unlike the previous times, only Elders and members from the older generation were shocked.

"Hmm, Insight medallion? Seeing your reaction, you must know what it is, Illumia; mind explaining it?" Asked Elif curiously as he eyed the surprised Illumia.

"The Insight medallion is just a normal medallion with no special effects other than it containing a wisp of Qi from the Sect Master of the Realm sect. The Insight medallion is merely used as a key or token that gives one person access to the sacred lands of the Realm sect for one month." Stated Illumia with a noticeably surprised expression while glancing at Patriarch.

When Illumia said that, I was pretty shocked as well, considering while I've never been inside the sacred lands of the Realm sect, I have been inside the sacred grounds of the Elven Empire, if only for a few moments; It was unbelievable, to say the least. If the sacred lands of the Realm sect are anything like the sacred lands I experienced, then that medallion is beyond valuable; even I would want it.

"Ho, now that is a gift if I do say so myself." Remarked Elif as he eyed the medallion in interest.

"How come I'm only learning now that you had an insight medallion? Didn't you tell me you didn't get to experience the sacred lands?" Questioned Matriarch with a frown, though she couldn't hide her curiosity.

"Well, I obviously didn't lie about that; if I had visited the sacred lands, I wouldn't have that medallion, would I? Remember long ago when we were at the Realm sect, a month just before Sect Master Chaurli summoned all the possessors of the Insight medallion?" Said Patriarch with a light smile while eying Matriarch.

"Yeah, I remember. I also remember on that day, a person rumored to have an Insight medallion in her possession disappeared before she was eventually found dead a few months after Sect Master Chaurli summoned the possessors of the Insight medallion. Wait! Don't tell me you had something to do with her mysteriously disappearing." Replied Matriarch with a nod while recounting her days at the Realm sect before looking at Patriarch with widened eyes.

"Haha, yes, I did; in fact, I was the one who killed her and stole her Insight medallion. It was a difficult battle even after planning it a few months in advance; however, as you can see, I did manage to win; unfortunately, I was very injured, which ultimately caused me to miss the heavenly opportunity to experience the sacred lands. Though, even if I was in perfect condition, I'm not sure I would've gone; while I was powerful among the younger generation, there were still several people who were stronger than me; if word somehow got out that I now possess the Insight medallion I'm quite confident I wouldn't have survived that month." Stated Patriarch with a sigh while retelling some details about the fight.

"By the time I had fully healed, the entrance to the sacred land had already closed, and with the sacred land only ever being opened once every generation, I ended up forgetting about it as it was useless. Well, until Eyvor was born." Added Patriarch before looking at Eyvor.

"Haa, that is one hell of a story that I'm just now learning about after our long time married, Mr." Remarked Matriarch with a raised eyebrow as she eyed Patriarch, to which he just chuckled in response.

"I must agree with Mother on this one, Father; when this celebration is over, the two of you must tell me about your experiences when you were younger." Said Eyvor with a light chuckle as she stored the black medallion in her dimension ring before focusing on the next gift.

"Haha, alright dear, but be prepared; you old man was quite the lady killer when I was younger." Said Patriarch as he laughed though he was interrupted by Matriarch, who elbowed him in his stomach, causing the dining hall to be filled with laughter.

"Well then, it seems like the next gift is quite appropriate." Remarked Matarich as she ignored Patriarch and glanced at Eyvor.

Once Eyvor focused on the second gift, which was the book, she opened it and started reading it, and from her intrigued and shocked expression, I could tell she was immensely enjoying it.

"Are these pictures of the two of you from when you were younger?" Asked Eyvor as she turned the book around, allowing everyone to see the picture of a young patriarch seemingly talking to several beautiful women.

"Yes, it is, dear; I told you I was a ladies' man back then." Replied Patriarch with a smile as he nodded while Matriarch huffed in annoyance.

"So then this must be you, Mother; I never realized how much I look like you." Stated Eyvor as she flipped the page, showing everyone a picture of a young Matriarch with an annoyed expression sitting on a throne while her feet were being massaged by a young patriarch covered in bruises.

"Hmph, yeah, because of you being a so-called ladies' man, I was forced to keep you in line; otherwise, you might go and have a fling with a random woman." Said Matriarch as she eyed Patriarch, who was currently sporting an unsightly expression.

"I thought you said you wouldn't put that picture in there?" Muttered Patriarch with a frown.

"And I didn't think you would have the audacity to put that previous picture in there. I suppose we learn something new every day." Remarked Matriarch as she glared at Patriarch before ignoring him.
