Chapter 20: We are trekking back

[ 6 years later]
Location- District 6 outskirt, somewhere at the war sites.
Time - 12:12 pm, 14th of February 2036

"Uhn? How far in are we going?" Jackson, a young man wearing a military uniform, spoke as he rode his fast-moving bike.
He is a Sergeant in a small military squad known as the Black owl and they work for the Jixa organization, with black hair and a build muscular body.
"Just a bit further… I think." Rose, another female in the same squad, spoke out, except she was seated at the back of the military jeep.
She had long pink hair and two short blades placed inside the scabbards hanging at her back.
Another squad member spoke out, "Shit shit shit! How are you guys so calm?!" Gabs panic, pressing the throttle on the jeep to accelerate faster.
They were speeding on the street, right in the center of multiple broken-down buildings and blooded grounds.
And just right behind them, were giant monkey looking Xynoins with red glowing eyes stampeding towards their position.
"Ahhhh, Gabs? Move faster they are catching up!" Rose yelled, picking the Ak47 that was resting on the chair before kicking back the bottom of the gun on the back of the truck while aiming it at the Xynoins.
"Hey!" Rose shouted, losing her balance because of the sharp turn Gabs made. She stood up back, using her hand to move her hair from her face.
"Watch how you drive, you Idiot!" Rose exclaimed, glaring at Gabs as he drove the Jeep with full focus.
She was about to turn and reach for the gun when all of a sudden, one of the Xynoin monkey disembarked at the back of the truck.
"Shit! We one got on the truck!" Rose alerted her squad mates.
Because of the weight the Xynoin monkey had, the front of the truck pocketed up making the back of the truck scrape the ground.
Rose went springing to the back, but before she landed on the ground, she made sure to pull out her double blade and slice the head of the Xynoin before falling flat on the ground.
She tumbled on the ground before coming to a stop after having a serious injury on the knee from the fall.
"Rose, are you alright?" Gabs called out, running toward her, he had already got down from the Jeep before it crashed so he was fine.
"Ow, that kinda hurts." Rose stood up from the ground and sat down with her legs stretched out while she watched her injuries close up.
Gabs ran past the body of the Xynoin;Kicked it, before he continued his advance toward Rose while Jackson came from the other side on his bike.
Gabs got close and immediately gave out a sigh, "What were you thinking, flying out of the car like that?" He asked.
Rose gave a neutral expression in response to Gab's comment before she replied, "You are such a gentleman".
She grabbed her blades on the ground before she stood up. Rose glanced at her blades and a puzzled look hit her face, 'The XH2 isn't activated?'.
Rose suddenly looked up and noticed the Xynoin monkey was gradually standing up from the ground.
"Ga-!".
Before she could even react, Jackson had already fired multiple gun shots at the Xynoin that brought it back to the ground and its body began to disintegrate.
Stopping in front of Rose and Gabs, Jackson got down from his bike and placed his double pistols back in his belt, "How could you forget to activate your XH2, that's pretty careless, if these were Grade 4, you should be dead by now".
"And always, you saved the team again, speaking of which, where is Ava, didn't she say we should meet her here?" Rose asked.
"Uhm… I think I know why the monkey butts stopped chasing us." Gabs uttered, pointing in front of him.
Both Rose and Jackson shifted their attention towards where Gabs was pointing at and saw Ava, killing off multiple Xynoins all by herself.
"There she goes again… men… makes me look weak." Gabs muttered with a an aggrieved look on his face.
"Hahahah," Rose laughed, "Everyone knows you are weak Gabs, it's a norm now".
"Come on, let's help her," Jackson asserted, pulling out his pistol before he began sprinting toward Ava's position.
Ava slammed her right foot on the ground while using her left foot to balance herself before using her sword on her hand to create a powerful lightning slash.
The blade and lightning combination killed every Xynoin around her while adding the additional effect of the surroundings bursting up in flames.
She then immediately shifted her attention to her back, switching the way she held her sword before launching herself toward the Xynoin.
Her sword stabbed the Xynoin as her body darted toward the building with the Xynoin back hitting the wall and causing the building to crumble to the ground.
Ava sighed before pulling out her sword as she watched the Xynoin disintegrate into the air, "That should be all." She uttered.
A Xynoin suddenly grabbed Ava by the leg, but before it could attack, Jackson shot the Xynoin and Ava stabbed its head with her sword.
"Sergeant!" Jackson called out before coming to a stop in front of her, "I thought we were supposed to meet over at the outskirts".
"We are." Ava uttered, sheathing her sword before she continued, "I got an order from Lieutenant Colonel to stop the Xynoin here, and so I did so myself".
"Hold on, were they using us as bait?" Rose himed in.
"Seems like it." Gabs added.
"Doesn't matter either way… let's head back to base, I'd like to have a word with the lieutenant." Ava said before she began to walk away but then she suddenly stopped
She noticed the bike and the truck had been destroyed and that was their only way to head back without having to walk.
"You guys somehow managed to destroy a truck and a bike…" Ava sighed, "Nice job, now we are trekking back to base".
"No! Anything but that!" Rose sobbed.
