Chapter 45: The talk

Isabelle looked at their interaction with curiosity. Kyle couldn't help but feel anxious, not sure about what was going on. As far as he knew, Allen didn't hate Cassidy or anything close to that, so his reaction caught him off guard. 

"Something wrong?" Isabelle asked, her eyes drifting from Cassidy to Allen.

Allen clenched his jaw a dropped his eyes to the table. "No." His right leg bouncing fast under the table. "Sorry."

"You can say it." Cassidy pressed, not sure if she should regret it or not. 

Allen crossed his arms over his chest and looked back at her, this time with a softer expression in his face. "I—Kinda feel embarrassed that you know the whole thing."

The other three remained silent for a while, Cassidy's soft laugh breaking the silence.
