Chapter 3: First Disciple

In the midst of a dense forest, Quan Feng stood tall, his cultivation at the fifth stage of the Core Formation Realm. He could see through the dog's cultivation and knew that his own was superior.

However, his goal was to make the divine dog submit to him by demonstrating their difference in strength. Quan Feng waited for the dog's paw to strike him, and when it did, he stood unfazed, protected by his Top-grade Earth-rank Golden Lion Armor. The divine dog, only at the first stage of Core Formation Realm, posed no threat to him.

The divine dog attacked, but Quan Feng did not flinch. The impact of the paw created a powerful shockwave, but he remained standing, unaffected.

Quan Feng gazed at the divine dog who was sent flying. His eyes were like a calm sea on a windless day, reflecting the stillness and tranquility of his soul.

His Top-grade Earth-rank Golden Lion Armor protected him from the attack. With this level of defense, he could even face a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator without fear. The divine dog was only at the first stage Core Formation Realm.

If the first item was so powerful, what other treasures could he acquire? With this in mind, Quan Feng was even more determined to make the beast submit to him.

The divine dog was astonished. It had never encountered a human as strong as this. Its paw had no effect on him, and it could not comprehend the strength of the armor.

Amidst the misty forest, the divine dog's eyes fixated on the stranger before it. For years, it had led a lonesome life, unable to connect with other canines due to its exceptional strength and intelligence.

But now, it stood before a being unlike any it had ever encountered, a young human whose power surpassed even its own. The divine dog felt a shiver run down its spine, for the first time in its life it feared for its very existence.

As it prepared to flee using its lightning-fast movement technique, the man spoke up, offering a deal that sounded too good to be true.

"Become my pet," he said, "and I shall help you get unparalleled strength and power, making you a divine beast feared throughout the realms. I shall also provide you with the most delicious delicacies. The only thing I want in return is for you to acknowledge me as your master."

The divine dog was wary. Why would this stranger make such an offer? What was his true intention?

The man's words echoed in the dog's heart, resonating with the beast's innermost being. Though young in age, the man standing before him exuded an aura of high cultivation, surpassing even the beast's own abilities. The divine beast had no choice but to acknowledge the human's exceptional talent. And yet, it was clear from the determined glint in Quan Feng's eyes that submission was the only path ahead for the beast.

Quan Feng's countenance, usually as placid as a still lake, suddenly brightened with excitement.

[Congratulations on gaining your first disciple. You shall now be rewarded.]

Without warning, a Low-grade Sky-rank Thunderbolt Collar appeared in Quan Feng's hand. The collar hummed with the power of thunder, imbuing the dog with lightning-fast agility and the ability to strike its foes with electrifying force.

Alongside the collar, a Low-grade Sky-rank Spiritual-Gathering Array Formation also materialized. As Quan Feng laid his eyes on the words "Array Formation," a glint of anticipation flickered in his gaze.

He yearned to obtain the necessary ingredients from Xiuanwu City and return to the Crimson Flame Sect, where he could begin crafting his newly acquired array formation.

"Do you have a name?"

As Quan Feng approached the dog, he gently ran his hand over its fur. Memories flooded his mind, bittersweet in their recollection. The small, mischievous divine beast before him resembled the one he had loved and lost on Earth - a tiny dog with white fur that had been his only family and true friend.

But his loyal companion had passed away at the age of thirteen, and Quan Feng had never replaced it. He had simply continued on with his life, alone.

As the divine beast shook its head, Quan Feng felt a pang of emotion. "I will give you a name," he said softly, his stoic facade faltering for a moment. "From now on, your name is... Peanut." A flicker of sadness crossed his face before he regained his composure, the feeling vanishing as quickly as it had come.

With a flick of his wrist, Quan Feng fastened the Thunderbolt Collar around Peanut's neck. "Take this," he said, a hint of determination in his voice. "It will help you grow stronger. There is no need to explain its effects, as you can feel them for yourself, right?"

As soon as the collar settled onto his neck, Peanut sensed the surge of power within him. Whenever he tapped into his spiritual energy, he could feel the electrifying charge of lightning energy coursing through his veins.

But the true value of the collar lay in its ability to grant him the power of thunder, vastly increasing his strength and abilities!

Peanut could not help but wonder about his new master's identity. Who was this human who had offered him such a gift? He had made the right choice in accepting Quan Feng's offer.

Perhaps he would even receive more benefits like this in the future - he was determined to remain by his master's side, no matter what lays ahead.

As Quan Feng watched Peanut's expression, he couldn't help but chuckle. It was clear that the little dog's thoughts were racing a mile a minute, and Quan Feng could guess exactly what was going through his mind. The personality of this new companion was so strikingly similar to that of his previous pet - it was almost as if they were one and the same, separated only by time and circumstance.

Despite the bittersweet memories that the comparison brought to Quan Feng's mind, he couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in having Peanut by his side. The dog's personnality and appearance reminded him of the bond he had shared with his previous pet.
