Chapter 11: Lake of the goddess Selene

'I didn't think they'd be that weak, they're climbers, aren't they? Well whatever

Elliott was thinking with disappointment about his little fight with David's group.

Elliott, who had finished wiping the blood off his face and hands, started walking to begin the next challenge in this tutorial.

After changing one challenge, Elliott stopped and looked around for a moment.

'Where is the E-block test hallway.'

But there was one thing that was bothering him. He didn't know if it was because of the little fight he'd had with David's group, but he felt the stares of all the people in the room. Elliott ignored the stares and walked down the center of the waiting room.

At the end of the room, on the right wing was a hallway that seemed to lead to the next test.

As he walked past a white line indicating the start of the electronic block test, a message automatically appeared in front of him.

[Block E test will begin.]

[The Block E test has four different landscapes. You will be sent to one of the landscapes at random and you will clean the landscape you have been given].

What will the landscapes look like?

That's the only question Elliott had at the moment since he doesn't know what he's in for.

As Elliott finished his thoughts, he started walking down the hallway, his surroundings began to distort.

***

[You have entered the E-block test.]

[Crosses the lake of the moon goddess safely and reaches the opposite side].

"And now, how do I cross this lake? There are no boats, and no trees, and swimming is out of the question. I don't know what kind of monster is in this lake."

sigh

let's think with a cool head

Elliott, standing in front of a huge, beautiful lake, didn't know what to do. The whole landscape is at night and the only thing that was shining on that night was the moon.

Elliott walks towards the lake and a system message appears.

[Goddess Selene's favorite lake].

This lake was the favorite of the moon goddess Selene after the wars in Olympus ended, the goddess spent most of her time in this place. The water of the lake upon contact with the goddess the water became extremely heavy and dense that no ordinary life form can live in this lake.

"Holy mother, it is impossible to swim in this lake, so how am I going to overcome this?"

Elliott was very surprised by the description of the lake, he knew it was not normal, but he did not believe that such a famous goddess had been in this place.

Elliott leaned over and reached into the lake.

It didn't look like normal water. It was quite thick.

To make sure, Elliott threw a small stone he found near the lake that was level with his feet. The stone quickly disappeared and sank to the bottom of the lake without a trace.

Elliott raised an eyebrow in surprise.

'This is amazing, the stone is gone, how heavy is this water.'

'I wouldn't put it past them to give it a water-related name.'

It was so high in density and pressure that it could not be compared to normal water.

If a person of any average race were to submerge, they would be crushed. Even if their body could withstand the pressure, their resistance would not last long.

You can't even rely on buoyancy to float in this water.

'If I try to swim beyond this lake that I don't know how long or wide it is, it would only lead me to a quick death. And I don't even know what kind of creatures are in that place.

Elliott focused on the line "no ordinary life forms can live in this lake" in the system window.

In other words, only extraordinary life forms live in the lake.

And knowing what this tower looks like there must be some kind of trap in the lake.

Elliot not knowing what to do to pass this test decides to try something.

'Dragon Eyes'

Everything around Elliot began to change. He can now see the energies circulating around the place.

Elliott starts to walk around the lake looking for a way to pass the lake safely without having to risk his life if necessary.

And when he was walking around the place, a message from the system appeared in front of him...

[You have found the hidden dungeon of the goddess Selene].

[For being the first to find this dungeon, you will be awarded 300 points].

[You have acquired 300 points.]

"Hey, there was a dungeon in a place like this?"

Elliott was really surprised by what he had just discovered about this dungeon in a place like this.

Owoooaaah!!!!

A huge stone door with a crescent moon drawn in the center appeared in front of where Elliott stood.

Elliott very cautiously opened the stone door and as he opened the door stone stairs appeared leading down.

'Phew... well here we go

A small smile escaped Elliott's face as he thought that he was the first to find this dungeon.

[You have entered the dungeon - Moon Cave].

Elliott descended into the dungeon.

The spiral stairs to somewhere inside.

It seemed that the dungeon is a deep cave, from some point the light did not see the stairs.

However, Elliott did not worry too much.

[Strengthening of the senses: 20.1%.]

Thanks to the great mastery of his skills, which once increased his mastery after clearing the F-block, it was now possible for Elliott to recognize the environment through different senses without having to concentrate on his sight.

Elliott makes to increase his mastery in that skill, as just by activating his dragon eyes he would see the way easily.

And by doing that, he would be able to get more information by doing this, and not just rely on his eyes.

The sounds of the environment, the lay of the land, his own movements...

Everything felt the way it was. There were almost no blind spots.

If it had been before, he would have had to concentrate to keep the skill active, but now that he had gotten used to it, and could have it constantly active without having to pay much attention.

You could say that his active skill had become a passive skill. Thanks to that, Elliott was able to move around the dungeon without any problems.

Who knows how far he had gone

Soon after, a piercing wind struck from outside.

*Swoosh*

The stairs came to an end and a huge cave appeared that looked like it was made of moonstone.

Elliott came to a cave that was filled with all-white moss.

'that this moss I had never seen before

Elliott, who wondered what this moss was, appeared at a window in front of him.

[Moon moss.]

It is a type of moss that only grows in moon caves and has the essence of the moon. It can cause death if eaten.

The explanation was as simple as we can see.

"This tower is really magical, I never expected in my second life to see something like this."

Elliott who was amazedly heard some noises and turned his eyes toward the sound coming from somewhere.

"KRIIKKI!"

Something poked its head through the moon moss suddenly. It was an all-white centipede as big as a person's forearm. Its white exoskeleton looked quite tough.

[Moon centipede.]

A type of centipede that feeds mainly on moon moss. Often found in Flat caves, especially where moon moss grows. Sometimes prefers meat to moss.

"Kriikki!"

As if it thought the intruder was looking for its meal, the centipede moved its dozens of legs and approached Elliot with incredible speed.

It crawled down from the ceiling along the wall.

It was a scene that would send any normal climber running in fear.

However, Elliott was calm and took a step forward.

*Pat*

Elliott shot forward, throwing the sword he held in his hand. The sword slashed through the moon centipede's hard armor, splattering blood and bodily fluids.

"Kiek!"

The centipede expressed its anger and twisted its body as it stretched its strength.

*crumble*

The ground beneath the centipede collapsed as it crawled with it.

[Moon monsters have appeared.]

[Hidden Mission/Moon Cave.]

Content: The moon cave is full of unique monsters that only feed on moon mosses. If they leave the dungeon, the outer ecosystem will be destroyed. Hunt as many monsters as you can.

Reward: rewards will be awarded according to the number of monsters hunted.

100 or more: 100 points

300 or more: 300 points

500 or more: 500 points + additional rewards depending on the achievement.

More than 1000: ¿?

Uff... I need to kill a thousand monsters to get a good reward.

Elliott decided not to face it head-on. Instead, he quickly moved his body to the side and narrowly avoided the attack.

*Kwang

At the place where the centipede struck with its head, some rocks were being crushed by its strength.

'The monsters here are very strong. even with his body that gained some strength in F-block, he couldn't kill them easily. It will be very dangerous if I let them attack from the front.

As soon as Elliott finished assessing the centipede, he quickly attacked.

However...

*spike*

"Shit! It's too hard!"

The sword bounced off its surface, leaving only a scratch. But that was enough to irritate the Moon Centipede, so it twisted its body to attack Elliott with all its might.

Once again, Elliott narrowly dodged the attack.

A cloud of dust rose as a deep pit was created where he had been standing.

"Looks like the normal attacks won't even make a scratch on him. The exoskeleton is too tough. However, I can't let this turn into a fight of attrition."

Elliott didn't know how much life the centipede had, and it was still at the dungeon entrance.

And Elliott doesn't know how deep the dungeon is, it has to end this fast or it will be a foul on him.
