Chapter 5: Mountain Dragon Qi
Chun Jiangtu glared at Leng San in awe. Was he hearing things? No... that wasn’t it. Leng San challenged him to deliver three attacks as a trial!!
“Y…you!! Are you aware of what you’ve just said? Why are you this confident in your skills? In the case your martial arts technique is stronger, it might be possible for you to mitigate one-tenth of my attacks, but directly withstanding my attacks will purely be a contest of whose qi is stronger. In theory, even if your qi matches the strength of my qi, you will still be at a disadvantage. I can’t accept your request!!”
Chun Jiangtu did not know that Leng San always had the heart of a tiger. But the young man’s proposal was not courage, it was insanity. However, once the man looked at Leng San’s face, he was greeted by a worry-free grin.
Chun Jiangtu turned beet red. The man was not an elite in terms of martial arts, but his qi was second only to the village chief and the village chief’s eldest son. This young man was the first person with only low-level violet qi, who proposed to receive three attacks from him. Naturally, the absurdity of this challenge infuriated the man.
“Good!! To honor your courage, prepare for the first attack.”
“Kindly let me apologize for being rude, please commence.”
Leng San slightly stooped down and started circulating his qi until the violet aura brightly shone. He crossed his left hand to the back, revealed the palm of his right hand to signal that he was ready before crossing it to the back, and extended his chest to provoke the opponent.
The young man’s posture made Chun Jiangtu frown.
‘This kid chose to cross his arms to the back and extended his chest. He plans to directly receive my attack without any cushioning. This is lunacy!! Alright, I will teach him a lesson.’
Chun Jiangtu circulated only a part of his qi as he did not want to harm the kid. He just wanted to lower the kid’s ego.
“Prepare for the first attack.”
‘The first of the Five Leng Clan’s Techniques, Mountain Dragon Qi!!’

Chun Jiangtu struck at Leng San’s chest. It was impossible for a low-level violet qi to withstand his attack, even if he used only a part of his qi which was equivalent to the potency of a middle-level violet qi.
However, it felt like he had just attacked a small mountain. The fact that Leng San’s body did not move even half a step stupefied the man.
‘His defensive qi is exceptional. Who is this kid?’
“Thank you for your mercy, elder. I’m ready for the second attack!!”
Leng San cupped his hands and slightly bowed before crossing both of his arms to the back with his chest extended. Chun Jiangtu’s eyebrows knitted together.
“Your defensive qi is marvelous. I’ll use half of my qi in this second attack, get ready.”
Qi circled around Chun Jiangtu’s body once again. His qi was several times denser than the first round. The man forcefully flicked his palm onto Leng San’s chest one more time!!
Boooooooom!!!!
Chun Jiangtu used half of his qi as he declared. The potency was equivalent to a high-level violet qi. Leng San was able to withstand the attack, but his body was pushed back around three steps. Even so, Leng San’s arms were still behind his back. His stance remained unwavering.
Chun Jiangtu’s palm slightly trembled. It was as if he just attacked a large boulder with bare hands!! The boulder was not destroyed. In fact, his attack could only send waves of oscillation to the boulder.
‘Preposterous!! Why is his defensive qi this powerful? Out of hundred-thousands of people in the Indigo Cloud City and martial artists from thousands of clans, I have never heard of anyone who wields such a powerful defensive qi that could withstand a direct attack from a qi that is half a stage higher with no wounds.’
There were no wounds on Leng San’s body. But the flow of his qi was quite disturbed, as the direct attack was no different from being smashed by a giant iron hammer. Leng San then circulated his qi for around 20 breaths before looking up again.
‘Didn’t think the man would really use fifty percent of his qi. If he were to use one hundred percent of his qi, the Mountain Dragon Qi would not be able to withstand the attack from the person with qi that is one stage higher.’
Leng San assessed the situation and approached Chun Jiangtu. He then cupped his hands and humbly bowed.
“Elder, after the last attack, this young one only wishes that you will ask the village chief to let him participate in the festival. No matter what the decision turns out to be, please bestow me with your generosity that I’ll forever keep in my heart. So please have mercy. I am now ready.”
Chun Jiangtu, at fifty years old, a warden of the village chief’s residence who was responsible for the lives of hundreds of workers, knew what Leng San was thinking.
‘This brat is truly intelligent. I could not afford to use a hundred percent of my qi in the last attack after what he said. Alright, for the sake of his courage, I would not be ashamed even if I have to endorse him, as his strength is worthy enough.
“For the sake of your courage and yourself, regardless of whether you can withstand my last attack, I will endorse you to participate as the representative of the village. But as a test and an honor for your defensive qi, I’ll use a hundred percent of my qi for the last attack!! Be ready.”
Leng San smiled, but it was pinched at the corners. He already expected that Chun Jiangtu would use his full-powered qi for the last attack. But his earlier proposal was said to ensure that Chun Jiangtu would endorse him to participate in the festival.
An indigo aura shone from Chun Jiangtu’s body. The circulation of his qi orbited at least three times throughout his body. Sweat dripped down from Leng San’s forehead from intense pressure. Chun Jiangtu stomped his feet and flicked his palm, imbued with one hundred percent of his qi onto Leng San without hesitation!!
Once the palm projected towards him in the blink of an eye, Leng San changed his stance by uncrossing his hands that were behind his back and used his right hand to join with Chun Jiangtu’s palm in an instance.
