Kingdom Lost Heir Chapter 2

Souta POV

I woke up curious about what Hiroshi Sensei would be teaching me. I sat up and just sat there for a couple of minutes. Not like I can get up if I wanted to. So best to wait for Hiroshi Sensei. I heard the door slide open and assumed it was Hiroshi Sensei.

Hiroshi: 'Why are you still in bed?'

Souta: 'There's no tell where all end up'

Hiroshi: 'You're right, well get up, breakfast is ready.'

I got out of bed and followed the sound of Hiroshi Sensei's footsteps. I almost tripped over something and regained my balance easily.

Hiroshi: 'Sit'

I began to feel what I almost fell over and recognized it as a chair. I sat down at what I assumed was the table. After a minute Hiroshi Sensei spoke again.

Hiroshi: 'Eat'

I began searching for my chopsticks but could not find any.

Hiroshi: 'It's soup.'

Souta: 'Oh'

-TIMESKIP-

I finished after that hard time.

Souta: 'What now?'

Hiroshi: 'Your training begins. Follow me outside'

I followed his footsteps once again to the outside world. I instantly felt the sun hit my skin.

Hiroshi: 'Here, take this'

I began trying to grab whatever he was holding in front of me. I got a hold of it and began trying to feel what it was.

Souta: 'A stick?'

Hiroshi: 'No a katana'

Souta: 'I thought they were made from metal.'

Hiroshi: 'You're stupid in many ways. a wooden katana and second, katanas are made from steel.'

Souta: 'Oh'

Hiroshi: 'Come over here'

I followed his footsteps until he stopped

Hiroshi: 'Swing the katana'

I did as he said and swung the wooden katana. I hit something and thought it was Hiroshi Sensei.

Souta: 'Sorry!'

Hiroshi: 'That was a dummy and your form is terrible, you wouldn't have hit me.'

I heard him move towards me before grabbing my hands and placing my hands correctly I'm assuming. He then kicked my right foot out a bit.

Hiroshi: 'Now swing'

I heard his footsteps get farther and then swing. Honestly that felt a lot better.

Souta: 'How did you do that?'

Hiroshi: 'Better be comfortable because you're doing this for 3 months'

Souta: 'WHAT!!?'

He didn't reply I just heard him walk away

Hiroshi: 'Better start swinging'

-TIMESKIP-

I did exactly what he said and swung the sword, for 3 months . I had not touched my mask yet since the incident but I knew how to swing a sword that's for sure. Today was the start of the academy.

Hiroshi: 'Get up'

I did as he said and got out of bed.

Hiroshi: 'Put this on'

He threw something at me, probably clothes. I hear his footsteps leave and I try my best to put the clothes on. I walk out the room and hear Hiroshi Sensei making food.

Hiroshi: 'Go grab your mask, I want to see something plus you'll need it always at the academy'

Souta: 'Ok'

I walk in and do as he says and grab the mask, I hadn't held it in what feels like forever. I walk back into the kitchen and wait for Hiroshi Sensei to tell me what's next.

Hiroshi: 'Have you ever put the mask on?'

Now that he says that, I realize I've never done that. I shake my head no in response

Hiroshi: 'Then put it on, I've heard about that mask.'

I do as he says and puts the mask on…

???: 'WHO WOKE ME UP FROM MY SLUMBER?!'

Souta: 'Huh?! Who is this? Show yourself coward!'

???: 'Ah, I see… you are the next generation to wear my mask!'

Souta: 'What do you mean? Are you inside of my mask or something?'

???: 'Yes. I'm the spirit that gives you your powers. Normally I could feel my user staring at me, but you're not.'

Souta: 'Yeah, I'm blind. I wish I could see again.'

???: 'Wish Granted. Think about this as a gift from me.'

Then, the voice disappeared and I could see again! I was too freaked out to even move.

Hiroshi: 'Can you see?'

Souta: 'Yes, thanks to the spirit inside of the mask!'

I finally knew what Hiroshi Sensei looked like. He had gray long hair tied up in a ponytail. He had brown eyes and wore a white and blue kimono. He smiled at me as he began bringing me a bucket of water. He placed it on the ground in front of me as I looked down at my reflection in the water. The mask was white with my clan symbol on the forehead of it. It had pink Mark's on the cheeks of it and pink lips. The eyes were dirty gold color as well. My hair was long enough to the point it hung over my shoulder as I looked down.

Souta: 'When did my hair get this long?'

Hiroshi: 'Do you want it cut?'

Souta: 'No, I like it.'

Hiroshi: 'Ok, I'll tie it up after you eat'

Souta: 'Alright'

A couple minutes pass and we eat. The lips actually opened for me to eat so I knew what I was grabbing. Afterwards he tied my hair up like how he had his hair. He also painted my clan symbol off my mask, don't know why but I'm not complaining

Hiroshi: 'Alright let's go.'

We walked to the academy and many other kids were showing up as well. Some my age, some older. Under this mask my face was lighting up greatly. It's not usual for me to see this many kids in one place. I'll finally have people to talk to.

Hiroshi: 'Alright let's go get you registered.'

I followed behind Hiroshi Sensei as he walked over to the academy, outside stood two adults both standing in front of the doors, and both in different clothing. I'm guessing there's no uniforms in the rankings. Hiroshi walked toward one of the two as they were holding a piece of paper and an ink feather.

Hiroshi: 'Hey Akio and Haru.'

The one I assumed he called Akio spoke.

Akio: 'How are you Mr.Hiroshi. Don't see you too much since you've retired.'

Hiroshi: 'I just stick to traveling a lot. But I did come across this one on my way to Derobia.'

He pointed at me with the last part.

Haru: 'What's his name?'

Souta: 'Souta Fu-'

Hiroshi: 'Souta Ariwaru.'

That was rude, no clue why he cut me off. I won't ask any questions though, maybe he had a reason.

Akio: 'You adopted him, I'm guessing?'

Hiroshi: 'Yes I took him in after hearing Derobia got attacked.'

Haru: 'That must be a hard thing to see.'

Akio: 'How old is he?'

Hiroshi: 'Eight'

Akio: 'Alright all set you can go in, Seina will lead you to Dorgan's class'

I was about to walk in until Hiroshi Sensei stopped me. He knelt down beside my ear and began to speak.

Hiroshi: 'Don't tell anybody about Derobia, for the time being your name is Souta Ariwaru. Ok? Just tell them you're my son or something.'

Souta: 'Alright.'

He stood up before waving me off as I walt's into the building. The lady I assumed was Seina was waiting.

Seina: 'What class are you in?'

Souta: 'Dorogan'

Seina: 'Alright, this way please.'

I followed her down the hallway before she took a right. I continued behind her walking down the hallways until she stopped and slid the door open. I stood beside her and did not see a teacher but only students talking to one another.

Seina: 'Alright, off you go Dorogan is not here yet.'

I walked in and most of the kids were staring at me. I don't like being the center of attention anymore. A boy with dark brown short spiky hair walked up to me instantly. 4 other boys followed behind him.

???: 'Why are you wearing your mask already?'

Souta: 'I can't see without it. Without it I'm just assuming where everyone is and guessing what they look like. Is there a problem with me wearing a mask?'

???: 'Nope not at all, I actually like it. I'm Poge from the Nogutari clan.'

Souta: 'And I'm Souta Fuj- I mean Souta Ariwaru.'

Poge: 'Nice to meet you, just know I am the best one here so be glad you're my friend.'

A bit of overconfidence, but he seems cool regardless. do it

Souta: 'Not for long.'

Poge: 'Don't work like that, I'm going to be the strongest in Cosha.'

Souta: 'That's fine with me?'

???: 'Yeah and I'll be his strongest soldier.'

Souta: 'That's unfair, the only role you left for me is the strongest in Japan.'

Poge gave off a big smile and I gave one back.

Poge: 'I like you, you're my friend now for sure.'

I actually made friends that quickly?

Poge: 'This right here is Asashi'

He was talking about the one who said he'd be the strongest soldier. He had white messy medium length hair and gray eyes.

Poge: 'That's Enmei, that's Chimon.'

He was a bit on the chubby side, he had messy black hair and wore a blue Kimono.

Poge: 'And last is Yamato.'

He looked nice, also wasn't paying

attention at all.

Souta: 'Nice to meet all of you.'

I began scanning the room and spotted two kids staring at me. One a boy, the other a girl. The boy had messy white hair like Asashi but his hair just covered his forehead. The girl had violet curly hair that barely reached her shoulder. When the two spotted me looking at them, they looked away and pretended they didn't see me. If they wanted to say something they could just say it. Just then the teacher walked in. He wore black kimono and blue bottoms. He also had messy brown hair tagged along with brown eyes.

Dorogan: 'Alright all of you take a seat.'

There were 6 tables, three on each side of the room and three seats at each table.

Poge: 'You're sitting with me.'

He pointed to me as he grabbed my arm and dragged me to the back on the left side. He sat closest to the wall and I sat in the middle with Asashi on the outside. The other three sat in front of us.

Dorogan: 'I see some new faces, I welcome you all to my class.'

Felt like he was talking directly to me since he looked dead at me.

Dorogan: 'Here we will balance training and academics. That being said…'

-TIMESKIP-

Dorogan:'...You've all passed my class. Congratulations to all of you. It has been wonderful for me to watch you all grow up and allow me to teach you.'

He then placed his hands to his side and bowed

Dorogan: 'I hope you all turn out to be wonderful samurai. Samurai exams are tomorrow, I will announce which squad fits you best and which you should aim for.'

Interesting I guess.

Dorogan: 'At the top of the class is Poge Nogutari, you best excel in the 5th squad. Squad of Offense.'

Sounded about right, he used a rapier and was amazing with it definitely fits him the most.

Dorogan: 'Second Highest is Ren Aoi, you best fit in the 9th squad, guard duty.'

Just so you know this is the white haired kid who was staring at me on my first day. Not a bad guy to talk to. I actually became good friends with the two who just stared at me on my first day.

Dorogan: 'Third is Souta Ariwaru, you fit with the 5th squad, the offensive squad'

I'm not surprised I do mainly focus on attacking people.

Dorogan: 'Fourth is Asashi Satou, coincidence that you fit with the 4th squad, the stealth team. Fifth is Ayame Tetsuya. You fit with the 4th squad as well.'

Thought she'd be with the research team but I guess that's close to.

Dorogan: 'Sixth is Chimon Matsura, you fit the 6th squad, the defensive team. Seventh is Hayami Ogasawara, you fit with the 3rd squad, Law control.'

She was smart, basically our class president. She's good at leading people and making decisions, a fitting squad in my opinion. I'll let you in on a little secret too. I had a little crush on her for about two years. Definitely won't be telling her though. Can't blame me either, she was smart, good at almost everything, and she was pretty. Sounds like a 10/10 to me. She had Blond curls that reached to her back and her eyes went well, they were blue. She was definitely gorgeous. I can go on and on about her but I'm getting off track.

Dorogan: 'Eight is Yamato Heguri. You fit into the 5th squad, the offensive team. Ninth is Enmei Inaba, you fit best with the 2nd squad with the scientists…

The rest were nobodies. I'm kidding they're my friends as well but I didn't talk much with them so it didn't matter too much.

-TIMESKIP-

It was the next day and time for the exams. We were in an arena with just our class and an audience. In front of us were where the important people were. The king, I never even saw him up close. He was a bit chubby and wore a red kimono with gold accents. The other people were the king's family and the Tsuyoi, some accompanied by who I assume is their second in command.
