Chapter 111: Interrogation (Remilia and Rita's POV)

"Shun..."

The man, whom Remilia had saved, tried to make a hasty escape, but a wall of fire blocked his path.

"Hey... Where do you think you're going?"

"E-EEK!! M-Monster!!"

Remilia's crimson eyes bore into his, and a wicked smile played on her lips. "That's right... I am a monster in your eyes..."

"H-Help!!!" His pleas echoed one last time before he succumbed to fear and unconsciousness.

"Tsk... Shit smell." Remilia turned away, only to reconsider and decide she might help Shun in her own way. With ease, she carried the unconscious man back to Rita's safe house.

A few minutes later, Remilia knocked on the door, and Rita opened it.

"Huh? What are you doing here?"

"I have someone you might need." Remilia tossed the unconscious guy inside.

Rita's eyes widened. "D-Did you kill him?!"

"No, I did not. How could I kill a peasant? I don't have a reason to."

"T-Then... Why is he unconscious?"

"He..." Remilia cleared her throat, "He passed out on his own."

Remilia entered and closed the door. "He is also related to that old man butler that Shun wanted dead."

"Wait... Now that you mention it... Where's Shun?"

Remilia stayed silent. "Shun found the old man, but I stopped him..."

Rita's eyes widened as she sighed, "Good thing you stopped him... We can't have him murder unless we have evidence."

"Oh? I thought you would also be opposed to my decision?"

"No... What you did is a good decision..."

"And so? What are we gonna do to that man?" Remilia asked staring at him.

"Interrogation... Torture."

"...Fufu~ I'm actually good at torturing."

"Then, I'm counting on you with that, I'll handle the interrogation."

"Very well."

Rita grabbed a chair, sat the man down, tied him up, and prepared for the interrogation.

"That's done, let's get the main event started," Rita said, grabbing a glass of water and splashing it on the guy, causing him to wake up slowly.

"Where am I?" His first words came out as he looked around, and then he noticed the two in front of him, especially her, "N-No!! Monster! Monster!!"

"Calm down." Rita patted his shoulder with a smile. "I'm here... Look at me, and she won't kill you."

The man looked at Rita, slowly calming down.

"W-who are you? Where am I?!"

"Shhh..."

Rita began the interrogation, using the first method — the peace method.

"Tell me about him." Rita grabbed a picture from the table and showed it to him. "This guy." She showed him a picture of the old man butler.

"H-Him?! I-I don't know anything about him!"

"Really? It seems that you were somewhat related to this man..."

"I-I don't know, I swear!"

"He keeps denying it, huh... Let's see, how about I make him a false confession?" Rita thought to herself. "Or maybe seduction..."

Rita continued with the peace method, attempting to coax information from the man. However, he remained adamant in denying any connection to the old man butler.

"Come on, sweetie. It's easier if you just tell us what we want to know," Rita said, leaning in with a seemingly friendly smile.

"I told you, I don't know anything about him! Just let me go!"

Remilia observed the interrogation with mild interest, her crimson eyes flickering between Rita and the captive man.

"You know," Remilia interjected, "I can make this much simpler for you. A little bit of persuasion, perhaps?"

The man's eyes widened with fear. "Persuasion? W-what do you mean?"

Remilia stepped forward, her eyes glowing menacingly. "I can make you spill all the secrets you're hiding, willingly or not."

Rita sighed, "Milady, maybe we should stick to the plan. Let me handle the talking."

Hm? She suddenly called me 'Milady'?

Remilia tilted her head, considering for a moment, then nodded. "Very well, Rita. I'll leave the talking to you."

Rita returned her attention to the captive man. "Now, you wouldn't want Lady Remilia here to get impatient, would you? She has a way of making people talk that isn't as gentle as mine."

The man gulped, his eyes darting nervously between Remilia and Rita. "I... I don't know anything!"

Rita sighed, appearing disappointed. "Well, if that's how you want to play it." She stood up, adopting a more serious demeanor.

"Milady, would you mind giving me a moment alone with our friend here?" Rita asked Remilia.

Remilia raised an eyebrow but agreed, "Fine, but make it quick."

As Remilia stepped out, Rita leaned in closer to the man, her tone becoming more serious. "Listen here, you. We know you're hiding something, and I can guarantee that cooperating will be much more pleasant than dealing with Lady Remilia's methods."

The man hesitated, glancing nervously at the door Remilia had just exited.

"You have one chance. Tell me everything you know about the old man butler, or you'll wish you had when Lady Remilia returns."

The man bit his lip, contemplating his options.

After a tense moment, the man started to speak, his words shaky and uncertain.

"Alright, alright! I... I used to work for him. The old man, the butler. But I left, I swear! I didn't want anything to do with his dirty business!"

Rita's expression remained stern. "Dirty business? What do you mean?"

"He was involved in some shady dealings. Illegal stuff, you know? I didn't want to be a part of it, so I left. I don't know where he is now. That's the truth!"

Rita considered his words, then nodded. "Thank you for cooperating. We might have more questions later."

As Rita left the room, Remilia reentered, her eyes questioning. "Well?"

"He used to work for the old man butler. Claims he left because of illegal activities. Says he doesn't know the current whereabouts of the old man."

Remilia's eyes narrowed. "He could be lying."

"He could, but there's a chance he's telling the truth. We need to verify this information," Rita replied.

Remilia turned back to the man, her eyes piercing. "If we find out you're lying, you won't like the consequences. Understood?"

The man nodded vigorously. "I'm telling the truth, I swear!"

Rita and Remilia exchanged glances, silently communicating their next steps.

But then Rita had a plan to ensure the man was not lying.

She started patting the pocket of the man's pants, searching for something, and there it was... his phone. She grabbed it and then took it to the laptop on the table.

"W-What are you doing?!" the man stammered.

"Shut up... You could be lying, and if you are, Milady will break your fingers," Rita responded coldly.

"Hehehe~ Sure~" Remilia's smile was predatory as she flexed her fingers, the sharp nails catching the dim light.

The man let out a horrified squeal, "E-Eeeek!!!"

As Rita delved into the phone's data, her eyes narrowed at the discoveries. "Oh? Would you look at that... I found something. A place somewhat related to the old man... Oh? And what's this? Drug dealings and illegal weapons smuggling? Trying to create a war, aren't we?" Rita's smile was almost mocking as she eyed the man.

His fury escalated, "F**k you, b**ch!! I will kill you! I will f****ing kill yo-" Before he could finish his threat, Remilia swiftly beheaded him with her sharp nails, the gruesome sound echoing in the room.

"Rita... Take us there."

"Yes, Milady." Rita nodded and gestured for Remilia to follow her.

But Remilia first turns to the man's body. "I'm sorry, but I felt like not wanting to break your fingers... plus I'm pissed off." Remilia then burned the body to crisps with her flames, turning it to dust, and watched the man's remains burn to ashes. "Burn in hell," she whispered, the flames consuming the evidence in an instant.

The atmosphere was tense, charged with the weight of their next move. Rita led the way to the garage, the air heavy with the anticipation of the impending confrontation.

Meanwhile, Shun, unaware of these developments, wandered the streets, haunted by memories of the mansion and fueled by a desire for revenge.
