Chapter 116: Chapter 110- Fourth Floor: Intervene

[A/N: Before starting this arc, I would like to inform you that I watched the movie: Mugen Train a long time ago, as such, I don't remember whether there was any difference between that movie compared to manga. Since I am following Manga, there might be some differences, so please bear with it. Anyways, enjoy~]

---------------------------------

Akaza was on investigation for Blue Spider Lily when he came across a Hashira.

Akaza was intrigued by this human.

Rengoku Kyojuro had a burning spirit that was far fiercer than the Hashiras he had met before. Not to talk about his swordsmanship which left Akaza in awe—and wanting for this battle to continue for an eternity.

Well, of course, as mostly how every Hashira has replied in the past, Kyojuro as well, didn't assent to join the Demon army and fight Akaza for many and many years to come.

Kyojuro had everything Akaza needed to get stronger and defeat a certain Demon he was acquainted with. However, sadly...

"Don't die yet, Kyojuro." Seeing the bloodied figure of the Demon hunter, Akaza sighed.

The duration of battle only lasted for half an hour and Kyojuro was already bloodied and bruised all over. The other demon slayers around, including the Hanafuda earring wearer, were trying their best to get back on their feet but it didn't interest Akaza.

"The cut you made on me is entirely healed already...yet, the counter I made on you, is making you dull by every second. If you had been a demon, all those wounds would have been subjected to nothing. "

Akaza grinned before suggesting, " I offer you another chance; become a demon and utilize your talent by training restlessly and becoming a better version of yourself. "

In response to that, Kyojuro only breathed heavily as he measured the pros and cons of what he was going to do now.

However, even after contemplating the chances of him defeating the Upper Moon remained near zero...unless Rengoku doesn't take a risk.

Holding his blade over his soldiers, the Flame Pillar took a fighting stance as a bright smile lifted his lips,

"I will fulfill my duty. I won't let anyone die here!"

As he said, flames began to enshroud Rengoku's figure as the surface began to tremble under his fierce aura. His whole person seemed to be ignited with a newfound vigor as the Flame Hashira stared at the demon with nothing but utter blood lust.

"Esoteric Arts...Flame Breathing...Ninth form...."

"Such an aura! Even with those wounds, your fighting spirit is shining! You should join me, Kyojuro!"

Ignoring the Demon's blabber, some words escaped Rengoku's lips before his figure disappeared in a whirlwind of flames and advanced toward the Demon.

"Rengoku!"

Akaza grinned before he crouched and launched himself towards the incoming foe,

"Technique Development: Annihilation Type!"

The two forces of nature advanced toward each other at a pace that was impossible for someone like Tanjiro to keep an eye on.

However, just the moment flames and wind collided, both sides fell into a lull.

Akaza was the first to notice the ambusher who sprang between the two and saved Kyojuro from his definite death.

Akaza's claw remained inches away from Rengoku's chest, yet the latter's sword was still half a foot away from Akaza's neck; indicating the probable winner in this confrontation.

However, before a winner could be decided someone appeared between the two and stopped Akaza and Rangoku with his palms raised laterally and pressed against their chests.

Both Rengoku and Akaza jumped slightly backward to witness the intruder who suddenly jumped into their fight before the dust cleared and exposed the figure of a young man in his teenage, standing there, all unscathed by that last attack.

An anomaly has arrived.

"I am just outside. Call me if you need anything." Jinah nodded to that before Sung Il-Hwan got up from his seat and advanced toward the door.

Reiji was currently with his wife in another ward since she had fallen unconscious after crying for the whole night. Even after fainting she was holding Haru's hand so tightly that it took an S-rank to separate the two.

Currently, in the room, only Jinah was seated.

Her tears had long dried up yet the look of concern remained in her eyes as she looked at the person lying on the bed.

...it was the second time she had seen his vulnerable side. However, the first time was still within the scope of recovery.

Haru has saved her once again. And not only her but maybe the whole planet by pushing through his limits. It wasn't the first time Haru took the responsibility to make everything better, all on himself. He have done something like this in the past as well...and Jinah never stopped him for that.

Now thinking closely, she should have.

Maybe, her plea might have stopped him from taking such a drastic step.

She knew she was being unreasonable and what Haru did was a noble cause...

...but who would convince her heart to stop beating such restlessly? Who would erase her anxiety and tell her everything was going to be fine?

"You promised...you will never leave me alone...we even promised to have our first baby last night..." Holding his hand weakly, Jinah muttered in a whispering voice, while staring at his face.

She wanted nothing more than to feel his warm fingers wipe her tears and embrace her as he always does. The sense of security she felt around him...the way he always made her feel loved; Jinah desired to experience it again.

"You have to return to me Haru...you promised me...you will *sniff* never...you promised..." Holding his hand near her chest she wept like a broken doll; unable to pronounce a word properly.

Suddenly, a shadow emerged right beside her, before Jinah heard a familiar voice,

"I thought my Jinah had become a different girl, now that she entered her dating phase. But here, you are still a crybaby."

Hearing her Oppa's words, her sobbing only intensified as she leaned her head on him and wept loudly.

Jin-Woo held his sister's shoulder and allowed her to let it all out.

His eyes remained on the pale face of the youth lying on the bed as he inwardly muttered,

'You better not let my sister cry for long, Haru...'

*****

A/N:- I will show both sides alternatively. After all, there is a huge canon divergence with Jin-Woo as well.

I will detail everything in the upcoming chapter. Drop a comment.
