Chapter 22: In Disappointment
With no sensible response to satisfy Sango with, she looked at him hoping he would give her the answer.
Sango wasn't planning on making things easy for Getha who seeks to exert revenge on her enemies but isn't taking it as seriously as it can get.
He startled Getha by using his speed to close the gap between he and her. When he got to her front, he dived his fist into her body and used it to punch her against the wall.
Pain coursed through Getha's body as she had her back hit the wall and fall down to the ground.
"i don't know much about this world yet, but even I know that unlike my world, death is eminent in here".
He picked up Getha from the floor and aggressively threw her body to hit another wall.
"do you get it? In this world, you have only one life".
Getha's thirst for revenge is filled enough to have her awaken to an avenger class, but her desire to work toward getting the necessary strength to carry out her revenge is lacking in Sango's point of view.
"your stats is so high that honestly, you have no need to wait for a year to get your revenge".
Even though he was holding back on the punches that hit her, her body was still able to take it and get her back up shortly after.
That is enough proof that she has a stat high enough to make her body durable against certain amount of strength.
Within a month's time, Sango is sure that if she continues her kill count and get herself to level twenty, she would be strong enough to go up against opponents that are above her in terms of physical advantage.
Wuth the bonus she gets as the first Apostle of the God Of Destruction, she won't have to wait long for her revenge. That is, if she plans on relying only on brute strength to force her way through.
"if that is the case, why are you mercilessly beating me up when all I asked is to be given an opponent suitable for my level".
Sango isn't looking at Getha with eyes of a child as she actually is. He believes she is a child who has been forced to grow due to the harsh circumstances she has been thrusted into.
As such, he expects her to act in a way that befits her circumstance and not delude herself that things would go well for her as long as he is by her side.
He is strong, probably one of the strongest. For that reason, she has nothing to worry about. Even if she doesn't do well, Sango can always use his strength to bail her out of it.
He doesn't want her harboring such thoughts in her mind, and is willing to bring her out of such delusions through the use of force and pain.
"i am trying to make you see that physical ability isn't all there is to fighting".
For Sango to get to where he is now, to become the strongest player in LORDS, he had to first understand the logic behind it, and the efforts needed to get him to where he is.
For those players aiming to be just players in LORDS, all they had to do is chase after stats, kill a bunch of monsters and get stats, their life will be secured as ordinary players.
While for those aiming to become more than just ordinary players, with aim of standing as a ranker. They had to have the skills, efforts and talent needed to get them to such position.
How high they can go as rankers would depend on how talented or how skilled the said players are.
That is the requirements needed for those aiming for the position of an ordinary player or a ranker.
For the position that would lead one to become an high ranker, they had to have the above listed with an hint of a tactics that is unique only to them.
"come closer".
Getha though still scared of him, got herself up from the ground and made her way closer to him.
"i am going to throw a punch to your face. Do not be frightened, for I will make sure the punch does not touch you".
She was scared internally, afraid that he would let his fist drill a hole into her face contrary to what Sango promised her.
His fist hurts her so bad that she actually questioned if he was holding back or not. The pain is not a pleasant experience for he, and she would do anything if it means not getting to feel it again.
Sango raised his right hand up and clenched his palm into a fist. He stretched it out in her face, slow enough for Getha to see and react to.
"what were you thinking".
Before asking her, he stopped his fist on her face that only slightly touched her pointed nose.
Getha's eyes were looking down at the knuckles that was touching her nose and thought well about what she felt or was thinking when he thrusted out his fist.
"that you were going to punch me".
Looking at his fist, Getha was scared for herself and her body that was earlier brutalized by him.
"what else did you think about".
Sango's tone sounded like he expected a particular wordings from Getha, a sentence that he thought she would understand if he gave her a demonstration.
Getha betrayed Sango's expectations by being unable to come up with anything that might be related to what he wanted to hear.
A fist is being directed at her, what was she supposed to think about at that moment? How to dodge it? But he told her he wasn't going to hit her so she has no reason to evade it.
Getha thought for as hard as she could and was able to come up with nothing, absolutely nothing.
"sigh....."
Sango withdrew his fist from her face and turned his back on her in disappointment.
"you still have a long way to go if truly you want to get your revenge".
"what do you mean by that? Did you not say I was physically strong and would be ready to get my revenge If I continue my hunting pace".
"physically I did say so, but again, physically".
