Chapter 12: Origins of the Enderman part 2

POV Teles:

My group has been trapped in the end dimension for more time than we can even remember, due to time working there differently. I was about as lost as everyone else, unable to talk normally, and surrounded by the darkness that mutated my skin.

Turning everything about my body black besides my purple eyes. My vision made everything brighter, and color disoriented, and my teeth grew sharp.

⛏⛏⛏

One day though(Or at least a day out here) I was sitting in the Endstone hills of the end. Having nothing on my mind, but I was somehow able to remember something.

A time when I was a little kid in a certain flower biome where my group was camping out for the night. Once I got a hold of this lost memory, I started to actually feel something again.

A feeling of wanting to return to that place, the place I remembered being truly happy. I started to become surrounded by purple particles.

Before I knew it I was part of the few Enderman who were able to somehow teleport all the way from the end dimension to the overworld, I was in the exact same flower biome again!!!

It took a lot of energy, and I was so drained I could barely walk, but I was actually feeling emotion, it was a glimpse of happiness and hope, especially after all the years I was trapped in the end, I was actually free!

⛏⛏⛏

A week later I was able to walk around, enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of the overworld again. It was nice seeing the nature of biomes, the wild animals, and being able to interact with other colorful materials!

As I ventured through the forest, I came across a human. I nearly forgot what they looked like it's been so long, but he was completely confused when he saw me and started to stare into my eyes.

Sure his eyes weren't glowing white, but his eyes, EVERYONE'S eyes would always remind me of HIM. Brian, the guy who cursed us and trapped us in that horrible dimension.

I became enraged, I started shaking and my teeth grew sharp, and in an instant, I struck him down. I killed someone due to a trauma that didn't even relate to this stranger I never knew, but I couldn't control myself, and I didn't have a sense of my old morals in this form!

I absorbed the XP he dropped upon death, and continued to make my way through the wilderness.

⛏⛏⛏

7 years have passed, and everyone I came across was the same, they wanted to kill me or stared at me until I became hostile.

After some time, with all the XP I collected from the people I killed, I started to mutate again, except this was a GOOD type of mutation.

I was somehow starting to look human again!!! I don't remember exactly how much XP I needed, but if the process took this many years, it HAD to be a lot.

As I gazed into a nearby river, I was shocked, I couldn't believe my eyes!

I looked like a human again! The only thing that was still different about me was my purple hair and eyes, but I didn't really care about that since this was still way better than being a full monster!

I tried to touch my reflection in the river, but the water burned my hand upon contact. Things like this reminded me that I was still part enderman, I would need way more XP if I want to go back to my old self.

At this point, I was known as one of the 'demimonsters', which were a condition where monsters gained a human form again, but they have some minor cosmetics that show they were once a monster. (like hair, eyes, etc.) Another thing they still have was the abilities and quirks of the monsters they once were.

I also learned that I was still able to teleport and pick up block-like materials with ease, but part of me also feels like the rest of my goals would still be a bit hard despite my better appearance.

⛏⛏⛏

However, if I ever came across any trouble in the future, I could simply teleport away. It's been easier for me to teleport when my mind is clear again. I just look where I wanna go and I instantly teleport there.

I could also go to places I have been before, but I have to physically be there originally to teleport to that original location.

I used this ability of mine to focus on my cartography hobby, teleporting to as far as I can see, and drawling everything around me on the maps!

⛏⛏⛏

Luckily I ended up learning how to speak normally again, and I thought things would be normal for me after reverting to normal, but alas I was wrong...

People I came across were still scared of me. They would always try to look away, or they would try to throw the first attack, but I didn't want to hurt or kill anyone anymore!

Especially now that I have the ability to think clearly again, though I wish I could say the same thing to the people who came across me...

Unfortunately with the reputation the Enderman originally had, I couldn't blame them for their actions.

So from then out I decided to get my XP in other ways that didn't involve killing, though the process was a lot slower, I still prefer to do it, I don't want to kill anymore!!!

Not only was I having trouble with the people I came across, but even other monsters I encountered attacked me too!

I learned it was because of my human look, you see they didn't see me as a monster, but as a full human. So even at night, I can't get a break!

The only living things that didn't want to hurt me were other enderman.

I even still remember how to communicate with them, but I could hardly find any of those in the overworld. Most Enderman lived in the end, and they can rarely teleport back to the overworld.

I spent forever being alone, and I was sick of it, I was practically forced to live on an island again.

Self-isolation is what turned us into enderman in the first place, but I really had no choice but to be alone, because I would just be attacked no matter what!

It was a terrible dilemma, and it completely depressed me, but I can't give up yet!

I know things will get better if I can just get enough XP, then I can find a village, make new friends, and be accepted again for who I was, but for now... things are just tough...

⛏⛏⛏

I'd usually just spend my time moping around the forest, feeling depressed, and not even motivated to work on my maps. Some days I'd just sit by the river feeling nothing but boredom and loneliness.

All that changed when I finally came across something, I saw a tall dark figure in the distance, and what do you know, it was another enderman!

It was unfortunately still a full monster one, but I knew I could at least talk to it. I went over to communicate with it, and using our language, I was told something that piqued my curiosity and gave me hope again.

It said they found a human, not just any ordinary human, but an otherworlder human!!! (I only heard legends about them) Otherworlders were bound to not know I was an enderman, but I needed to see this for myself!

It told me the location of the village they were at, and I teleported to the area and watched from afar.

I saw a person who was performing astounding feats, who practically spawned walls of cobblestone, someone who'd help those out when they weren't able to do something themselves.

Maybe they really ARE the otherwolder the enderman was talking about. I then watched them go out at night to get wood.

I wanted to keep an eye on them in case something bad happened. If any monsters attacked them, I could teleport them out of there.

I tried to get a closer look myself! Judging by their pretty half red half green short hair, the big blue jacket, a strange object wrapped around their neck that was covering their shoulders, and a body type that looked pretty skinny, I assumed they were female, but the real test here was to see if what the enderman told me was correct.

Alas, while I was thinking, I noticed she looked in my direction and stared for a little while. I knew she was either going to run away or try to fight me.

I teleported toward the otherworlder to try to reason with her, if she continued to attack I would simply teleport away and give up, but she did something that I'd never expected, she actually CONTINUED to dead stare at me when I was close, not moving just looking at me with her pretty hazel eyes.

For some reason, I felt drawn to her, this was something no other human I met reacted to my appearance, but she looked somewhat tense while staring at me.

So I decided to start a conversation with the first thing I thought. I moved in and said:

"You are not from this world, are you?" I asked

I then see her starting to make a ton of strange and confused faces before she finally said something back to me.

"Hmm? What do you mean, 'not from this world', I was just trying to collect some wood for the night," She said to me

Yep, definitely an otherworlder...

Her voice wasn't that feminine though, something felt off when I got a closer look, I decided to feel around out of curiosity and.... oh... nope this is a guy... that would've gotten bad fast...

Ahem... Surprisingly he was just as curious about this world as I was. He even wanted to see me again, and again, he even knew to shield my head from the rain by building a roof over us when it rained.

I was overjoyed to finally someone who would wish to be with a monster like me, and I hope this new friendship could grow to greater heights now than ever!!!

One last thing he said before I started this story... Saving the monsters? Is that even possible?

I'm not sure, but one of my goals is to become a complete human again, so maybe I can help him make this goal somewhat easier! Takeo, I will support you on this goal till the end!

⛏⛏⛏

POV Takeo:

I heard Teles' full story, and I understood everything and took it responsibly. I DEFINITELY DID NO CRY AT ALL!!!!! I collected myself.

"Say Teles?" I asked rubbing my eyes

"Hmm?" she responded

"I get it now, I understand a lot more now, thank you!" I said

"Of course!"

"Tell me, do you have any other goals planned for the future?"

"Countless!" Teles started "Besides becoming a complete human again, I wish to make lots of new friends, get married, and become one of the best Cartographers!"

"Woah, you really have a lot going on huh?"

"Well, it's honestly going kind of slow at the moment..."

"Hmm..."

You know, I've been thinking about it for some time. I finally came to a decision, but of course, I was going to ask her opinion on this next question.

I knew I had to help her, and wanted her to no longer feel alone anymore, so I wanted to see if she would like to live in the city with me.

"So how about I make things a little easier until you can reach these goals of yours!"

"What do you mean?"

I reached out my hand, "How would you like to live in my base in the city!" I happily offered

I was waiting for a response, but I can tell she needed a minute to ponder what I just said, but I can see her face was frozen in shock. like an insecure person winning the lottery.

⛏⛏⛏

"I... don't know what to say..." she whispered (Yeah I can tell..)

"A-are you sure!?!?" Teles finally responded to me

"As sure as ever!" I replied confidently

"Would they even accept who I am?" She said sadly

"You didn't want to hurt other people did you?"

"But won't the villagers know what I am and run me out?" Teles said

"Leave that to me, the villagers trust me now, and if I prove that you aren't just some hostile monster, and you'll soon gain their trust too, you can be a great aspect to our village!" I responded

"But but-"

"You wanted to make more friends didn't you?"

"Well YES but-"

the rain stopped, "Come on, let's go!" I grabbed Teles' arm and we ran towards the village.

"Sometimes you need just need a push, the worst they can say is no" I reassured to her

"I should've taken my chances in the rain!!!" She shouted behind me

Soon we will make it to the village, I planned a small speech as we ran. I hope this works because I too have been lonesome, but I at least had Stephen with me so I wouldn't constantly practice self-isolation.

In all honesty, though, I realized that maybe things would be different if I had just talked more in college, but that was all behind me now, my main focus now was to help others, and the Ender-girl running behind me looked terrified of her future outcome!
