Chapter 12: Thanatos
Xylo: I'm not here to hurt you or kill you, I'm here for help.
I said with a sigh, Thanatos widen his eyes for a second but then became more serious and said.
Thanatos: and why would I help you.
I'd sighed once more at his reply, I expected this from him he wouldn't trust me anyways I thought he would not attack me but apparently I was wrong on that part.
Xylo: this is a complicated situation isn't it huh.
I'd said with a tired voice, Thanatos just raised his eyebrows at this.
Xylo: well you see I'm a book of the dead of course you can see by my ruins all over my body but I think I am a new book of the dead, I need your help to control my new form of mine so I won't stick out like a book.
I said with a hopeful look, Thanatos just looked at me with a surprise look. He didn't expect a new book of the dead to appear but he also didn't expect it to come to him for help.
Thanatos: just get off of me and then we can talk.
He said with a grunt. Quickly got up off of him and he quickly got up as well and dusted his robes, he then asked a question.
Thanatos: Who are you the son of?
He said with a curiously.
Xylo: Hades.
Once he heard this he widen his eyes and then said.
Thanatos: you just might be a new book of the dead.
He said while walking back-and-forth with his hand on his chin.
Xylo: what do you mean by that?
I said with a confused expression while tilting my head. He then stopped and looked at me.
Thanatos: do you know how books of the dead come into existence more like the ones that are like you who are living and have spirits.
The question while looking at me waiting for an answer.
Xylo: no.
I replied while looking back at him, he then answered by saying.
Thanatos: there are certain conditions to become or be a true book of the dead, one you have to be A demigod. Two you have to have shadow magic death magic and demonic magic in order cast spells from such a book. three you have to be a child of death such as me or be a child of a god of the underworld.
He said well looking at me, I then looked at him with a understanding expression. As I was about to say something to him he interrupted me.
Thanatos: there's one more condition and this is the most important condition out of all.
I then looked at him waiting for an answer
Thanatos: you're soul has to go through reincarnation.
He said while staring daggers at me. I paused at his words, A anime sweat drop slowly crept on my face.
Thanatos: telling by that expression you somehow know that you are reincarnated unless you have your memories from your past life which should be impossible. Even if you were reincarnated as a book of the dead usually they don't remember who they were from their past life.
He said with a serious expression on his face. Just look at him and sighed.
Xylo: yeah I'm reincarnated and also explains why I am now a book.
I said as I sat down on the ground with my knees to my face not knowing what to do now that I've been caught. Thanatos saw this and said.
Thanatos: it's not like I'm going to do anything to you, and plus I can't do anything to you because you already reincarnated it's not like you cheated death it wasn't your intention to live again it was more like you're soul rejected the river of bones itself or any other underworld capsule, and the fact that you remember everything from your previous life makes you a lot more special than other books of the dead there was two others before you but they never remember who they were from their past lives which makes you special.
I then looked at him and raised eyebrow.
Xylo: two others, I thought there is only one before me.
I said while wearing a confused expression on my face. He then sat down beside me and put his hands together and said.
Thanatos: no, There was two books of the dead spirits they had different names one I don't remember but the other one i do.
He said while in thought.
Xylo: tell me about the one that you remember.
I said waiting for an answer, he then looked at me again and answered.
Thanatos: The book of blood, I remember that one well the book of blood is not what you think it was it wasn't evil but good surprisingly it was from the Egyptian pantheon if I remember correctly it was also the child of Anubis himself. As for the other one I don't remember well I know that it's the child of Hela, and it was evil I don't know the name of the book so I can't help you there.
I looked at him with a thoughtful look. Could Magnus be the reincarnation of the book of blood. I then asked him another question.
Xylo: what happened to the book of blood.
He then looked at me and said.
Thanatos: The book of blood and the other book fought against each other and they both died.
He said while looking at his hands. I Then asked another question.
Xylo: can books of the dead reincarnate again if they were to die.
Thanatos looks at me and widen his eyes and said.
Thanatos: that actually may be possible if they can reincarnate before they can reincarnate after so it's highly possible that they can but the price of it would be their memories again.
I Then looked at him with the understanding expression.
Xylo: well with all the questions out of the way will you help me control this form or at least help me activate and deactivate it.
Thanatos then sighed.
Thanatos: The only reason why I'm doing this for free is because it's very important, and may affect the future.
He said as he got up I quickly followed him as well and got up. He then stopped and turned around and looked at me and said.
Thanatos: oh yeah one more thing you will now be called they.
Thanatos said with a mischievous smile.
Xylo: oh ok, WAIT WHAT!
I'd yelled.
