CHAPTER ONE
Page -4 _The serenity of despair_
Lying on the ground, she couldn't think at all. She tried hard but nothing came to mind. From a distance a car appeared coming her way in top speed. After that she just blacked out. In her mind she thought fantasies were better than reality.
After sometime she blinked twice while slowly opening her eyes, only to catch a glimpse of pleasure. Paused in front with a keenly worried face was none other than Keisuke, the person she had ran away from. He stood wearing a navy blue woolen knit cap with a white black panda sweater, and a cream scarf around his neck since it was cold. "Are you okay?," he asked as he stared deep into her eyes in a trancelike state. "Yes," she bluntly replied finding herself in an odd house wrapped in a thick blanket. She looked around to see if it was her's, but it wasn't neither her's nor did it look like a Senami mansion. She asked whose it was and he answered," the person who saved you".
Rin didn't really get what he said, but that's when she heard someone coming down from the stairs. A slightly tall girl with short midnight blue hair and shiny blue eyes walked over to her. "Are you okay?, you were almost a goner," she asked dressed in a pink shirt and white shorts. She was shocked to see the person who saved her was a girl least of all a high schooler.
The girl explained that she had taken Rintaro off the road the moment she saw a rushing car, and happened to bump into Keisuke on the way to her house. Of course he offered to help, but staying anylonger wasn't what Rintaro had in mind. She thanked her in the utmost respectful way possible and decided to go home and prepare for the next day of school. Senami offered to walk her home but finding no reason to do so, she brushed him off and begged him not to tell anyone at school.
As she strayed along the path to home, the lights were a bit dim and she thought to herself 'why can't i hear any cricket sounds,' since it was already nighttime. It was around 10pm at night, which was past her curfew. She stopped to gaze at the sky which looked wonderful. The stars were in an amazing arc shape and glimmering like the sunshine over a blue sea. Caught up in the beauty, she forgot all about nighttime and suddenly felt a chilly chuckle in her back. When she tried to turn around all that was in sight were two hands wrapped in black gloves. Her heart skipped a beat and at some point her conscious was saying 'thank you lord i'm in the hands of death itself, maybe all my worries will go away,' but still she was scared. The thief called out her last name which was very confusing. Was the person someone she knew?, her mind was tossed around in a melody of insaness. She tried to twist herself and look at the face, but all in vain she fainted.
When her eyes opened, at first sight she saw a bright light above her. She got up from the bed she had mysteriously gotten on and onsight, she noticed how the whole room looked familiar. The door made a screeching sound as it opened. Haruno checked to see who it was and she was madly shocked.
With curly light brown hair, a piece of it between his eyes, and faint golden eyes stood her obnoxious brother. His face was freakishly delighted.
Takashi was the loving brother of Rin. He took the responsibility of raising her alone ever since their parents' tragedy. At this time he was currently engaged to his girlfriend and was about to marry in a few months.
Even though Rin was grateful for him raising her, the best big brother in the world, was a bit annoying. He explained what had happened and she understood but was frustrated. Like all the time he was pulling a prank on her, but she had somehow fainted in the process. Even so he still was a caring brother and when she got downstairs dinner was ready. He had cooked Rintaro's special dishes, stewed fricassee, pork cutlets in fried rice and wieners. The aroma ravashingly took her to a dreamworld of food. She was so happy and ate like she'd never eaten before (_well she literally hadn't eaten almost all day_).
After eating, she washed the dishes to thank her brother and went to sleep. Before she even knew it, the night was over and she had passed school waking time.
