Chapter 2: The Diva

"You can't do this to me, Adrian. You can't just break up with me when you signed the three-month relational contract. Why do you want to cast me aside? But in the meantime, I have paid for this," the woman's voice reverberated through the room, filled with a mixture of anger and disapproval. Her heels clicked as she paced around, her frustration palpable.

"Fuck the contract, Celie! I'm done with you, once and for all. I have no interest in the pieces of paper you brought for the remittance. Come get them and get the lawyer ready. I can't continue playing these dumb games with you anymore," the man retorted, his voice laced with seething anger. He clenched his teeth, fighting the urge to unleash his pent-up rage. How dare she speak to him like that...!

"No. No... Please, Adrian. I will do anything, whatever it takes. Don't leave me, I beg you," she pleaded, dropping to her knees. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks as she realized her pleading would not change his mind.

"Stop with the theatrics, Celie. I only signed those papers out of boredom. I needed something to toy with while I watched the play, glass of my favorite wine in hand, and you were the perfect bet," he sneered, a devilish smirk playing at the corner of his lips.

The woman froze, stunned by his words. She had been nothing more than a game to him? It couldn't be true, she thought. And even if it were, she didn't care. All she wanted was him, and there was something she could still cling to—the old master's desire for them to be together. If she could win the old master's heart, she could soften Adrian's heart as well, reminding him of his grandfather's request.

Yes, that was her plan now.

"Don't you think this will affect you too? The old master wants us to be together. Breaking up with me means you're out of the old master's will. Do you want that?" she asked, a broad smile appearing on her beautifully painted red lips.

She had hoped that reminding him of his grandfather's request would soften his heart, but instead, his mocking smirk turned into a frown of realization. However, she was taken aback by his response.

"I have nothing to do with the old man. I want nothing from him, and I don't care about his nonsensical will. I made myself clear, right?" the man stated coldly, turning his back to leave. He couldn't understand why he was still talking to her, but he wanted to clarify that her little threats held no weight. He owed the old master nothing.

Her face turned pale as his response sank in, and her heart shattered as she watched him walk away. She couldn't let him go without a fight. She had to stop him and confess her feelings before it was too late.

"Where are you going?" she sprang up, rushing to the entrance, blocking his path as he gave her a deathly glare of anger.

"You're not going anywhere, Adrian. Do you really think I went through all that just to make myself famous?! I didn't, Adrian!" she yelled through tears, her long, lustrous dark hair partially obscuring her beautiful face. A Diva like her shouldn't be reduced to this, especially when she could have any man she desired. But she wanted none other than Adrian. She was willing to let her career die if that's what it took to have him.

"I... Love... you... Adrian," she mustered, her voice filled with shame and vulnerability, looking up at the man whose icy expression stared emotionlessly into her ocean blue eyes. She shouldn't have said it, but she had no choice. She had to confess and hope it would change his mind.

"What did you say?" the man's voice grew colder, his deep tone cutting through the air.

"I... said I-I love you... Adrian," she repeated, almost brazenly, traces of dried tears mixing with fresh ones on her face. She looked sorrowful.

The man tilted his head, his eyes narrowing as he gazed down at the desperate woman before him. He began to regret ever signing that foolish and pointless deal with a woman like her. He had thought he was merely toying with her, but her desperation had become too much. He was genuinely tired of her. Why couldn't she understand that he didn't want her? She was just another pawn in his game, nothing more.

"Listen, Celie," he said, and the woman blinked, her long artificial lashes fluttering twice.

"You can keep your love for someone else because I don't do love. Now, get out of my way," he threatened grimly.

She couldn't accept that he wouldn't give her a chance, that he couldn't fall for her. She was determined to make him love her and only her, and she wasn't going to move until he retracted his words. She had to make him understand.

"I'm not leaving here, not until you take back what you said," she voiced her thoughts, tears continuing to stream down her cheeks as she stood her ground.

"And... If you don't do love... Just give me a chance. I promise you'll come to love me, Adrian, please..." she pleaded, her voice growing hoarse from both crying and yelling. This was the worst situation she had ever faced. She was the type of woman whom men begged for attention, and here she was, her angelic voice turning hoarse for the one man she truly desired.

He took a few steps toward her and firmly grabbed her jaw, forcing her to look at him. "I appreciate your efforts, but you can't make me fall for you. I don't have a heart that beats for a thing called love," he stated in a low, gruff voice, his expression growing increasingly dangerous. "I hate the word
