Chapter 21: Best dressed award
Adam's eyebrows raised in surprise, hearing the name and a stunning girl sitting in the extreme corner of the first row got up happily, walking elegantly towards the stage.
Adam's mouth fell open as he looked at Amanda, looking completely outstanding. His gaze fell upon her alluring neckline and her legs, while her beautiful face and long neck, was shining like a bright moon. As soon as she started to climb up the stairs of the stage, something got into Adam and he walked upto the girl and held out his hand like a true gentleman. "Congratulations Amanda. Here let me help you."
"Thank you sir." Amanda smiled gratefully and held Adam's hand, as she slowly climbed the stairs of the stage, adjusting her dress.
As soon as Amanda placed her hand on Adam's hand and they both walked hand in hand, several gasps and jealous stares looked at Amanda.
"Why is he being so nice to her?"
"She is not even that pretty. Just a stupid nerd."
"This chief guest is blind or what? Why us he giving so much special importance to her?"
"Someone is looking extremely pretty today." Adam ushered the girl to the centre of the stage, while whispering in her ear.
"Thank you sir." Amanda nodded her head, blushing a but from all the extra attention she was receiving from Adam.
He then took the award and the degree from a staff member's hand and handed it over to Amanda happily, grinning from ear to ear. Suddenly the claps had halted and only the jealous stares were coming from the crowd.
Amanda bent a little getting the degree as Adam held out her his hand. "Congratulations. I am proud of you and also the fact that I hired the right person to work for me."
"Thank you sir." Amanda kept repeating the same sentence, not knowing what to say anything further.
"You did not tell me, you could write so well. My publishing house is already looking for new writers, yours will be the first book to be published. Start working on it from today itself, in your new library." Adam smiled as he patted the girl's shoulder, feeling her bare skin on his palm.
"What!!!?" Amanda gasped in shock almost about to drop her award and degree. "You... you will publish my book!!?" A tear dropped down from her eye and she controlled the urge to hug Adam instantly.
"Don't thank me. You will prove to be an asset for my publishing company. You deserve it." He wiped away Amanda's tear and smiled lovingly.
The entire audience and the staff was now looking at the two of them, as Adam lovingly consoled an emotional Amanda, while handing over the award. Soon Amanda walked down the stage and seated back on her chair, while Adam kept staring at her, as usual.
"Wait till I get the best dressed award. I will get the same treatment from him. She is only getting the attention as she is a nerd and received the best student award." Henna fumed in anger as she whispered in a blonde girl's ear.
"Of course. You are better than her in everything. Look the head master is about to announce it." The blonde girl grinned looking at Henna.
The head master smiled as he opened an envelope in his hand. "So, this award is the most awaited award of the evening. The entire staff's votes have been taken under consideration for this and we have come to a judgement. This time, without any doubt we have one clear winner..... And the award for the best dressed student goes to..."
Henna quickly stood up on her feet, setting her hair and adjusting her dress, ready to move towards the stage.
"Yet again.... Miss Amanda Mathew!!!" The headmaster spoke in an ecstatic tone and Amanda gasped in much shock, while fixed to her seat.
