Chapter 6: C6: Punching a Kid Is Legal

It has been nearly 3 months since he reincarnated and 2 days since he became a Beast tamer.
In these past 2 days he has focused on upgrading the skills of Ben and Eleven.
They have grown tremendously. Eleven was already at level 7.

After 256 times he managed to take profenciy of worm silk beyond transcendent. Since it was a levelless skill it was not that hard.
There was now a Delete button next to the Worm Silk skill. He needs to teach a skill to the maximum for him to delete it. It was a nice function to increase his skill slots.
Max level Worm Silk was strong, strong enough to cut through Eleven's expert level Hardening. Expert level Hardening was no joke. One had to train for months and even years with sufficient nutrition to reach it.
For him to make it go from initial to expert in 2 days was beyond Insane. Also the growth level mainly depends on the racial skill of a pet.
Additional taught skills did not make that much of a difference in overall growth level.
Eleven and even Ben required a lot of nutrition to sustain their rapid growth these days. Even he ate a lot as his physique improved.
Shi Yu has also substantially grown these days. His beast taming space had also increased by a lot although it was still a bit far away from reaching Level 2.
Beast Tamers were also divided into different ranks and levels. Starting from Level 1 to 9. With increasing Levels one could contract additional pets.
Level 1, also called apprentice, was equal to ascension rank pet. Level 2-3 was Low level professional or Transcendent rank to low level commander.
Then 4 was equal to a high level Commander. Level 5-6 one was called master and was equal to Monarch.
Level 7 is called Legend, equal to an Overlord beast. Level 8 was a Titled legend, they could fight an Invincible Overlord to a Totem beast.
Level 9 are known as Legendary; they could fight from top Totem to Demi-Gods.
From Level 7 onwards one was truly a powerhouse. Legends were revered and respected wherever they went.
Legendary Beast Tamers could be counted on one hand. They were the current known ceiling of power. Like the current Guardian of the Dong Huang Nation, the Legendary Mechanic.
Raising skill levels so fast made Eleven feel uneasy as he was very disciplined. So Shi Yu agreed to spar today, as given his physique it was enough to manhandle Eleven.
Shi Yu and Eleven were in the courtyard. Both stood about 6 feet apart facing each other.
Eleven had an air of seriousness around him as he took this spar very seriously and Shi Yu had a more amused or laid back attitude.
Shi Yu was not looking down nor was he relaxed for this fight. He just seemed relaxed on the outside just for his opponent to let his guard down.
After a minute of staring at each other Eleven who never really had been in a real fight couldn't really sit still so he dashed towards Shi Yu forgoing his defences.
It was really really rare or even impossible for tamers to fight beasts of the same level head on solo. A Beast tamer was a kind of a summoner with mediocre physical strength.
They mostly depend on their pets. In some rare cases when a Beast Tamer chose to contact just high level physical type pets, he might get a corresponding boost in his strength.
But it was not practical and was costly. Beast Tamers generally preferred Diversity as that is what they were known for. It was also easy to counter different types of opponents one might encounter.
Shi Yu was an anomaly. Using his cheat skill, which he took full advantage of during these three months, he could fight Ascension level beasts head on and he had just begun his Beast Taming journey.
Eleven did not know this and he was about to find it the hard way.
Eleven quickly closed the gap between them and tried to simply punch Shi Yu in the chest.
Shi Yu, taking a boxing stance, raised his hands in front of him to block it. He could have dodged it but he wanted to test his durability.
As the punch connected Shi Yu seeing the opening on the left swiftly went for a jab, using only 40% of his power.
Shi Yu for the past 3 months was not just raising his physical stats, he also practised some fighting techniques he remembers from his previous life.
Although he was not really into fighting he had taken some boxing lessons in the past.
Eleven suddenly felt danger. He knew if that punch connected it would hurt a lot.
Fortunately he raised his arm for cover, using his hardening on his arm. But the impact was too powerful, he was sent flying across the courtyard.
Rolling a few times he came to stop by colliding with the courtyard wall.
"Are you ok?'' Shi Yu was concerned he might have used too much force and accidentally hurt Eleven.
But looking at Eleven who was just a bit dizzy he calmed down.
"Wuu–"
Eleven was in disbelief. It was impossible for a Tamer to exceed their pet in strength, even more so in early stages when there is minimal feedback.
Yet looking at his Tamer who clearly had held back, Eleven could not decide who was the real Beast.
Shi Yu was amused by Eleven's antics. He just patted his fluffy head and smiled.
"I'm sorry. I used too much force for that punch."
"Also, don't worry about my strength. You will surely surpass me soon. Now go back to Taming space and get a good rest, we will spar again later"
"Wuu–"
Eleven jumped on his feet and posed flexing his non existent biceps, trying to indicate that he was ok and can go for round two.
But Shi Yu just stared at him whth the no nonsense look that Asian parents are known to have when their child tries to disobey them.
Eleven saw that and knew he would not get his round two. So he obediently went into the taming space.
After that brief spar Shi Yu had a pretty good grasp at his strength. Skill index simultaneously increased his Speed, Strength and durability.
Although they were not precisely equal with strength being more than durability and durability being more than speed.
He might have an advantage in strength right now but sooner or later Eleven, or even Ben will surpass him.
There was no comparison between humans and beasts. The main advantage humans had was their Beast Taming Space that was unique to their race.
With the skill index their growth will be even more monstrous.
Shi Yu required eleven to reach the ascension level 9 at minimum for him to break through Level 2 BTS (Beast Taming Space).
He also needed to put effort into meditation to speed up the process. It will take at minimum around 5 days for him to break through Level 2.
Shi Yu looked at the green silkworm who was watching their brief fight. This bug had been munching on leaves and watching the fight, clearly enjoying himself.
Ben suddenly felt a chill. He went on full alert looking around to see any threat, only to see his beast of a tamer observing him.
So he went back to laying and stuffing himself with some tasty leaves. Using Absolute Sleep it dozed off.
Absolute Sleep was a helpful recovery Skill. At low proficiency a pet could use it to recover stamina and injuries faster while they slept.
But if it had a high proficiency that is above Perfected, one could use it in the middle of the fight like sleep walking to recover while they actively fight.
But being an High-Level skill it was significantly harder to master. Not that it mattered to Shi Yu.
He also needed to buy this bug some resources to accelerate his growth. He already had one in mind.
A space type resource which if continuously consumed by a pet would have a chance at getting minor space attributes.
It would be helpful for him as he could then teach him some OP space type skills. It doesn't matter if it is just a minor affinity towards space he could use skill index to increase it.
Even if it is minor it will be of tremendous help as space type pets are very rare.
He will get him some other resources for his evolution as green silkworms have a very low lifespan. Ben had about a year left.
But for now it is best to teach them some skills and increase their proficiency.
Shi Yu after making sure Ben had enough food, closed the door and left the house.
He was going to get himself a smartphone. Today he came to the Century Corporation building and prepared to look around.
Century Corporation was the leading tech company in Dong Huang Nation. And had stores in all the cities above Level three.
"Welcome, Sir. How can I help you?"
After Shi Yu entered the building he was immediately greeted by a receptionist.
"I want to buy a cell phone."
"What are your basic requirements?"
"It should be able to connect to the Internet. Also should have the ability to detect energy and the pet catalogue function"
Basically a Pokedex. Energy detection was used to detect base energy levels of a pet or Beast.
After Shi Yu finished speaking, the receptionist took out a sliver-white phone from the counter.
"What do you think of this one?"
"This is the newest model of Century Corporation, the Index Machine M30. It contains information on 6,029 types of pets and their skills. In addition, it can accurately detect the energy level of pets below transcendent level.
"Its price is 99,998 yuan. If you choose this one, you can even get a thousand yuan as a gift if you buy it now."
"Can I try it?" Shi Yu asked.
"Of course."
Shi Yu took the cell phone and found the index function.
This function was actually not that magical. It was similar to the face-detection feature of Earth's smartphones. It needed to use the cell phone camera aimed at some creature to take effect.
After opening the index function, Shi Yu aimed his cell phone at a black and orange dog with a ferocious expression lying outside the hall. In an instant, the cell phone immediately broadcasted a voice message.

Anyway he looked at the phone in his hand. It was nice although he did not really care about energy detection. It was still useful to have.
What he mainly bought it for was to access the Internet. He could now shop for a lot of resources. If any resources were not available in this city he could order it from someplace else.
"Alright, I will take this one."
"Thank you for your patronage."
With a professional smile on her face the receptionist packed the phone and handed it to him.
