Chapter 23: Rush

Gasia looked at her as if she was staring at a person with a mental problem. Obviously, she didn't understand why she asked such a question from her. Did she want to mock her for being unlucky? In her dreams then. She wouldn't fall into her tricks.

"Why are you asking?" She snapped curtly.

She knew that there was no way she would get a chance to stay in Langstone mansion. Hence, she forgot all of her fake manners, showing her true colours to everyone.

"I thought Caleb's embrace felt good and warm to you, right? You must have slept well between his hands." Amelia continued. "It's not your first time after all."

"What are you saying?" Caleb was confused.

Gasia broke out in cold sweat as she glanced at Caleb with her watery eyes, pleading him to spare her.

Amelia diverted her attention to him. She sneered and said, "She said she slept with you."

"Bullshit!" Caleb's face turned red in anger as he stormed towards Gasia and grabbed her by her hair, making her gasp in pain.

"Aaah!" She screamed. "Let go... It hurts."

Caleb pulled her hair even harder interrogating, "Tell us the truth. Did you seriously think I can sleep with you? Don't think so highly of yourself."

Tears filled in Gasia's eyes as she listened to his words. They were like needles to her ears. Caleb got tired of that drama. Brushing his neatly arranged hair backwards, making it messy, he commanded, "Drag her out of here."

"Nooo!" Gasia screamed as security pulled her towards the exit. "I was wrong. The young master didn't sleep with me. I lied. Please forgive me!"

No one pitied her. Instead, they got annoyed by her screams until they disappeared into the distance.

Caleb gave Amelia a deep look.

"Are you happy now?"

Amelia returned his gaze.

"You cleared your name. It has nothing to do with me."

Caleb ignored her as he faced the elders. "Mom, Grandpa, I'll get going."

Both of them nodded their heads in approval.

Amelia mentally huffed as she turned around to leave but Caleb held her by her wrist and pulled her all the way to the garage. Amelia didn't make a scene and obediently followed him.

Caleb released her hand when they reached in front of his car. Opening the back door, he put his suitcase on the back seat and closed the door, turning to face Amelia.

"I'll get going," He said.

"Okay, bye," Amelia replied with a nod.

Caleb squeezed out an awkward smile. "Aren't you gonna give me a goodbye kiss?"

Amelia widened her eyes in disbelief. "Hell no!"

Caleb narrowed his eyes unhappily. "Why not?"

Then, without a warning as usual, Caleb pressed his lips on hers before breaking the kiss quickly. He acted like he was in a rush. Avoiding her eyes, he jumped onto the driver's seat and started the engine before heading out.

Never in his wildest dreams, he would have thought that a single kiss could make him turn on. It was his first time facing such a situation. He didn't want to bother her. He could only swallow his discomfort and go far away from her.

Wait till he goes to an isolated place.

Caleb glanced at his hands and let out a sigh. Thankfully, there were tissues inside the car.

Amelia blinked her eyes in confusion as she kept looking in the direction he vanished into. She couldn't understand why he suddenly hurried out like his butt was on fire or something.

--------

Gasia yelled as Caleb's men dragged her outside. Then without a mercy, they pushed her forward, making her fall onto the ground with a heavy thud. Because of the roughness of the carpeted floor, her knees got scratched and started bleeding, which made her growl in pain and anger.

Standing up, she ran towards the door again with difficulty, screaming, "My belongings... They are inside my room. Lemme take them with me!"

"Get lost."

The men closed the door in her face.

"..."

Tears of agony rolled down her cheeks as she squeezed the hem of her shirt. She was left all alone. She didn't even have a single penny with her. She could only walk like a helpless puppy.

An hour later...

Gasia was sitting on a bench in front of an ocean, looking at the never-ending waves that kissed the smooth sand beach. Suddenly, the sky turned dark and tiny raindrops dropped to the ground.

She sighed, looking up.

"Even the sky is sad and crying for me. Why can't you do the same, Caleb?"

"Ha ha ha!" Someone laughed next to her ear.

Surprised, she looked beside her only to see a young woman who looked in her early twenties sitting next to her with her legs crossed casually. She appeared like she was the ruler of the world or something. Her persona appeared majestic and unapproachable.

Narrowing her eyes, Gasia asked curtly, "Who the hell are you?"

"You can call me the leader of hell." The girl smiled at her.

Gasia rolled her eyes. "What a psychopath!"

"No, I'm not. You are the real psycho here. You don't know how to win over a man. Tsk, quite pitiful." The young woman snickered in sarcasm.

"What are you talking about? Who are you? How do you know?"

"Be patient, Syntella."

Gasia was even more surprised that her eyes were about to come out of her eye sockets.

"How..." She couldn't speak further. She looked at her as if she was looking at an alien. Disbelief flashed across her eyes.

The woman shrugged her shoulders. "I know more than that and... I can help you with taking what belongs to you."

"But..." Gasia carefully examined her face. She thought she looked familiar but she didn't know where she had met her before or... Was it just a ridiculous feeling?

"But how can I trust you? I don't know you."

"You will know."

The girl reached out and touched the raindrops.

"Very soon."

--------

Caleb sat down on his seat and drank the coffee Reeta brought over. When he realized that she still didn't leave his office, he squinted his eyes unhappily.

"What is it?" He spat out curtly.

Reeta hesitated. "...Is that true?" She enquired. "Did Macie... I mean Amelia... really become your wife?"

Caleb looked up at her. His eyes looked like they were burning with anger which made Reeta shudder in fear.

"I think it's none of your business."

"Yes, it is." Reeta blurted out without thinking.

Caleb: "..."

"I... I mean... You are correct, boss. It's none of my business, it's none of my business." She awkwardly smiled and grabbed the empty coffee mug before leaving his office in a rush.

"Phew!"

Her whole persona changed 360 degrees the moment she stepped out of his office. Clenching her hands on both sides, she trembled, trying to surpass a scream.

"Macie bitch, how could you? I don't care whether you are a daughter of wealthy Carters or not."

Suddenly her mood changed again as an evil grin formed on her lips.

"You are an enemy's daughter. An enemy's daughter is an enemy!"

"What the heck?"

She flinched when she heard that. Turning around, her gaze locked on Peter the troublemaker.

"What's your prob, Pete?"

Peter laughed a little before giving her a playful wink.

"I see... A chubby little girl is fuming with anger and jealousy. Is it worth it?"

This time, Reeta examined him closely.

Peter had brownish-red curly hair that reached his neck and a pair of green eyes which emphasized his appearance. His pinkish cheeks and round, adorable face looked more like a child's one and of course, he was a man who could be labelled as 'Good looking'.

However, he still couldn't be compared with Caleb. He was more than good looking and Reeta wanted him to be with her not this annoying Peter who roamed around her 24/7 like a bug she wanted to smash to death.

"It's none of your business," She bit out in the end.

Unexpectedly, Peter took a sharp knife out of his coat pocket and waved it in front of her!
