Chapter 24: Sharing The News (2)
Ms. May was kind of ignored as the two friends were having a spat and the twins watching them with a fond but annoyed look on there faces.
She was thinking about the videos. I wonder if there is articles that would support those videos. If not then they didn't show anything substantial as those could be hoaxes put together by people.
When Claire finally went to stop the two from bickering Ms. May went to say something about getting a bit more evidence. "Claire do you have any article that would go into more details on those videos?"
Claire went to the two to stop them when the nurse asked that. Incidentally that also made the two focus on her and turn to Claire.
With an eyeroll she said, "Duh, of course I would have more than just videos to show you. Let me pull up the following articles that would be more enlightening to you.
The following news articles she retrieved showed the dates of the incidents. After she got those first, she then pulled reports that weren't shared with the public.
"What do you think of all these?"
All in all, the released news article only said that it was either an animal attack or a sick murderer that caused the event and the police are still looking into it. The victims that survived weren't able to say much as all of them have been detained or disappeared.
There also haven't been any follow-up after that, indicating that the government knows of these events and are trying to keep the public from finding out to prevent panic.
Ms. May was very interested in the camera shots in the hospital as well as the documents they would have. She really wanted to know what was going on there.
She had to ask, "Do you have any way to dig a little deeper to find out more on what they are researching on? I would like to know what they have come up with on the bodies as well as the infected victims."
With a shake of Claire's head, "Most of the documentation on the samples and the experiments haven't been saved on any computer so I can't find any information on it. The only other thing I have found is that there is a special unit that is tasked with containing any type of outbreak."
Ms. May thought that what Claire was able to find out was the best she could do. She gave up asking more questions about the research the hospital was able to find out.
Sunny finally spoke up once Ms. May was done with her questions, "Is there a specific reason that you are telling us three about this and do you already have a plan?"
"The goal for what we are doing is to survive the apocalypse and to get stronger to protect those who we can. That is the simplest I can explain for why we told you all and to ask if you would want to go with us." Sam really wanted them all to agree to go with their family.
They only had so much time before they get picked up from school.
"Let's make a group chat so we can contact each other." Sam pulled out his phone. As he typed away he turned towards Ms. May, "Can I have your number as well?"
She gave Sam a smirk, "Why go you can send me suspicious texts?"
Sam ended up with apple cheeks, "Stop making fun of me! It's so we can contact you later to tell you more information as well as when we are leaving."
Claire was packing up her stuff when her phone went off.
It was a text from her eldest brother saying 'Dad will be arriving soon let's meet up at the entrance.'
'Ok.'
"Sam let's go to the school entrance. We need to meet up with our brothers."
Sunny sneaks up on Claire and gives her a hug, "Don't worry about us. You told us what will happen so now we know what to do. Me and that idiot will get our stuff together and leave when you do."
Claire hugs her back with a nod, "Make sure you get Levi straightened up first as you know he will procrastinate till the last minute."
"Are you both talking bad about me?" Levi walked over with Sam.
"Whatever they said must be true or they wouldn't have said it." Sam interjected. "Besides you should know what we won't wait for you if you don't come to the meeting spot."
"Aaah." Levi let's out a big sigh, "I know I have to get ready. I'll make sure anyone and anything I want to bring with me will be there. I know when to be serious."
"At least you know."
"If you all are done me and Sam have to go. We will tell you more when it's closer to the end so you can see it yourselves. Laters."
"Byee," Sam and the other two said to each other with a wave.
Claire also turns back to bid good bye the Ms. May as they walked out
of the room.
