Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - Fake son

Jian rolled up in a tight ball, hugging his bent knees close. His whole body was trembling and he was not able to control the chatter of his jaws.

'Cold….'

It was bone numbingly cold. Winter had rolled around sending out chilly wind and snow.

His small shed had protected him from the snow and cold...

But in that small cell, he was able to feel the full force of the weather.

His stomach growled loudly right then.

Jian touched his stomach. 'How long has it been?'

he couldn't remember.

From the moment he was captured to the moment he was tossed in here. he was not fed even once. Occasionally guards would leave a small cup of water for him late at night when he was knocked out.

That was all.

Jian touched his arms and legs. They were only skin and bones. The muscles he had developed from hunting had disintegrated.

'It must be four or five days….' He closed his eyes tightly. 'Why... why did Bian do this...' he softly sniffled but not a tear was seen. His tear ducts had already dried out from dehydration.

'Maybe this is to protect me... maybe my brother wants to keep me away to keep me alive... yes that must be it.'

Jian blankly gazed at the dirty ground. He knew he was delusional but he did not want to think too bad about his brother without knowing the whole truth. His Bian, who was the kindest and only person who stood up to him when people bullied him all his life. How can he be bad?

a soft squeaking sound was heard followed by a sound of footsteps.

Jian vigilantly gazed at the door. 'Is it that guard?' there was this one guard who always stood there looking at him with that wretched look in his eyes. That wretched man pleasured himself while looking into his cell.

it was bone-chilling to realize how much of a dangerous position he was in.

Jian hid from him ever since then in hopes it would deter him.

Soft candlelight filtered through the grill gates. He could vaguely see a white figure standing outside.

"Bian…" Jian sat up looking his way softly. "Are you safe? Is someone hurting you?"

But that question sounded hypocritical.

Bian looked awfully warm in the fine fur coat that covered him from head to toe. It was harder to find such high-quality fur in the wild.

That could only mean his brother was well taken care of.

"Bian…" he crawled closer.

Bian wang coldly gazed down at him. "Grab him,"

Suddenly the cell door was thrown open and ten guards rushed in.

He could spot that lecherous man among them.

"no..." Jian backed away until his back hit the walls. "Bian... this man is not a good person... please... please..."

Five men held him down while the ones in white coats took out syringes.

He blankly gazed at them. "What is that? What are you doing to me? Bian... Bian…"

"oh shut up. Bian, Bian." He mockingly repeated his words. "Calling my name so many times is not going to help you. I'm not going to free you." He gestured for the white coat men.

They struck the syringe into his spine.

"AHHHHHH!!!!!" he thrashed around in pain. But the five burly men held him down. "it hurts. it hurts please... please... what did I do to deserve this..." he reached out to Bian's white fur-covered legs.

Bian stepped back. "What did you do to deserve this?" he squatted down. "You pretended to be me. That's why."

"w-what… when..." his brain was already getting foggy from the pain. "Bian I would never do that."

They were identical twins but he had never been gutsy enough to act out as Bian. Never.

"You're still pretending to be me." Bian took out a dagger. "Let me prove it ah." He softly grinned.

That grin looked chilling.

Jian blankly gazed up as the dagger moved closer to his face.

His brother placed it on his forehead, piercing the skin.

Jian was already dazed from all the pain. The stab did not hurt. But the look of elation on Bian's face hurt him more. 'Why... I thought he loved me as much as I did... then why…"

The dagger dug into his skin.

A chunk of flesh fell off his face right before his eyes.

"There. Look, you are not me." Bian knocked on his forehead with that dagger.

A weird tinging sound was heard. As if the dagger tip was hitting on some stone.

"Hear that, that's your Jeta."

Jian could barely keep his eyes wide open. "w-what?"

"You are not a human, Jian. You are just a cheap imitation of me. Your mum camouflaged you to look like me and left you at the hospital. She changed everyone's memory. But darn that old lady's head was too strong. Only she remembered. Do you get it why she called you a fake?" Bian grinned softly.

Jian's heart chilled. he could remember the many times his grandmother had called him a fake. Sometimes he could even see a vague sense of fear in her eyes as he looked at her.

Bian grabbed him by his head, making him peer up. "And you… you took everything that was meant to be Bian's. Everything. I won't let that happen."

Jian shook his head weakly. 'I never would...'

Bian stood up wiping his hand on a towel. "Did you Guys get enough?"

"The spinal fluid has been drained but there is not much blood to take. It's better to get him hydrated and try again." The man in the white coat said loudly.

"Do that. I want his blood to last until the wedding." Bian waved at them to leave.

He alone stood there looking down at him.

"I never... took... what was yours…" he softly touched his foot. "Bian…"

Bian sighed. "Yet. You didn't take anything yet. Because I took it all." He squatted down in front of him peering into his face coldly. "I can't understand one thing. We both have the same face, yet you have a different fate than mine. Why did the author make it so? why did the author make you a hero while me a villain? I'd only give her One star rating. What a cheap plot."

Jian could not comprehend what he was telling him.

"Are you special because you're an alien? It was irrelevant to the plot. Xing Yu fell in love with you as a human. You never changed into your alien form even once. so why didn't Bian get the man? It's so cliche man. but it was okay. It was a book after all." he peered down at him coldly. "But I can't tolerate it in real life."

"I used to stay up at night thinking 'Why did I transmigrate as Bian? I should have been Jian. Not this useless human.' but one day I realized. what is wrong with me? I can be the hero? I look like you. Xing Yu fell for your looks so it is possible. ,"

Bian chuckled.

"I stole your adopted father. I stole your plot Jian."

Jian only caught onto a few points. 'Novel… hero, he is villain… this is real life... why is he...'

Bian grinned. "But look at us now. You on the ground and me on the top of this world. Do you know I'm going to be marrying your fated man Xing Yu? And after that, it's all going to be happily after. With your spinal fluid, I will be able to produce alien blood. Only one thing is needed." With a cute grin, he stabbed his forehead again, tearing out another chunk.

"AHHHH"

"Fuck, you're loud." Bian pulled out what looked like a green diamond which was covered in blood. "With this i have your magic too. The winner is me, Bian." He stood up and strolled out, humming.
