Chapter 4: Family Dinner
Walking towards the hotel restaurant and bar with them following behind me they must have gotten into the second elevator after I had. I smiled at my siblings because I can hear my favourite song playing by The Black Keys the song called Lo/Hi grabbing my sister’s hand we danced together towards the bar catching the eye of a few of the groups of men at the bar, giving them a flirty smile, my sister tapped my arm telling me no, I shrugged my shoulders. While Charlotte was getting the barmaid's attention our father and brother were standing behind us giving any male who looks our way the death stare like really am over, the over protectiveness from the pair of them, I do get it, I would be too if they had the same medical history that I have had in childhood, but let me have fun.
“Hi, can I please have a coke, thanks,” Charlotte said, I smiled and leaned over a little so she can hear me, “Hi, can I please have two long island ice teas,” I said happily, while my brother made a scoffing sound from behind me, “Shit Rhiannon are you planning on getting pissed?” Alex asked, “Yeah, kinda want to get a little tipsy big brother. I have been stuck in a car with you for three days I need a drink and need some fun mate.” I snapped at him. Mum stepped in, “Ok you can have a few drinks, but please behave we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. With unpacking the truck and moving into the house.” She reminded us, and we all nod our heads, paying for my two drinks and my sister’s while taking a sip I smiled at my mum, “I’m going to go and dance a little bit.” I told her, laughing as I walk off towards the dance floor dancing away by myself and feeling the music through my body, I love dancing I enjoy people either being around me or touching me or watching me I just enjoy feeling free and alive. Still dancing by myself for a few beats of the song when someone came up behind me placing their hands on my hips, I looked back and smiled at him, he is not a bad looking man at all. “Hi there sexy, I’m Nathan.” He said, he is taller than me, well built short brown hair with hazel brown coloured eyes. “Hi Nathan, I’m Rhiannon,” I said with a smile on my face, he pulls me closer and whispers, “Your boyfriend seems pissed, are you trying to make him jealous?” He asked, I looked back at him in shock, “What?” I asked he turned me around a little and pointed out my dad and brother and I can see the looks they are giving Nathan, wow no wonder he thinks that.
“Oh um no I don’t have a boyfriend, they are my dad and brother,” I told him, he laughs awkwardly, “You normally bring your family out with you on the town?” He asked, “Oh, um no just here for some food and fun but if your not down for it I’m off to go eat then.” I told him, wow why am I trying to be like Josephine? Is it to see that I can be like my only friends I act like it around them, let’s see how I go without them. I don’t want to live a life without trying everything and having fun and letting go. I turn to leave he grabs my arm gently, “Wait Rhiannon, I am up for some fun with you Rhiannon as long as they are not going to kill me for doing that with you.” He said I looked back at them then back at Nathan, “It all depends on how you treat me is how this will end Nathan.” I told him. “So am I correct you are up for carefree fun with no strings attached?” He asked sounding like a kid at Christmas.
“I am if you play your cards correctly, I’m off to go eat dinner with my family if you want to hang out I will be down at the hotel pool in around three hours.” I said with a smile on my face, “Really Rhiannon? I will be there.” He said brightly, I walked back towards my family knowing he is watching my ass the whole time, spotting my dinner is at the table already, and having no memory of ordering any food. Alex smirked at me as I sat down, “Did he strike out?” He asked, “That is for me to know and you to find out later. Also thank you to whoever ordered this it looks yum.” I said cheerfully, “Starting to think I am a bad influence on you.” Alex mumbles, I start laughing, “Nope I’m bound to be you know baby of the family here.” I said around my laughter. “You’re welcome baby girl, but also please don’t be alone with that man I’m getting bad vibes from him, sweetie,” Mum said I squint my eyes at my mum, “You get bad vibes from anyone that shows any form of interest in me,” I told her.
Charlotte pointed her fork at mum, “She has you on that one.” She said cheerfully, “Why are you like this Rhiannon?” Mum asked I smiled at her, “Rather be like this than worry, I want to live my life mum, I will worry if I need to but right now can I be a fun carefree nearly twenty-two-year-old like the rest of the world?” I asked, “You can be carefree sweetie but not risky like you have been.” Dad grumbled, “Really I’m not taking hardcore drugs guys chill.” I snapped, and my brother looked at me in shock, “What you are doing is the next step down from it, Rhiannon.” Alex snapped, and I rolled my eyes at him, “I’m not going to do drugs, Alex, please stop worrying about that. I love being carefree but not like that.” I told him, the rest of dinner was quiet as we all ate our food, and we headed up to our rooms, mum and dad said their goodnights to us before heading to their adjoining room.
