Chapter 6: | Awakening |
Pov: Ráel
After the hard work I did for a year, I am almost done with the creation of my mana core, just the last fragments and I will have a mana core.
But before that, I have to come up with a plan for my awakaning l dont want those bandits to find out about my awakening, god knows what they will do to me if they find out, so tonight while they are raiding a village I will go into the nearby forest and awaken my core
Its decides than tonight, when Eda is asleep, I will sneak out and go into the forest as planned
And just like I planned I sneaked out late at night alone
Finally I am out of the house, lets go quickly, I do not want her to find out much less the bandits to find out that I awakened as a mage that would only be a disaster for me.
Running from tree to tree I finally found a littel cave a normal human definitely could not fit in here but me as a baby I do not have that problem and with a little help from crawling and getting my clothes dirty I managed to get inside
Now comes the hard part I thought as I sat down
in a meditative position focusing only on the mana fragments and pull them to my almost formed core
Sitting whith eyes closed, my teeth clenched and my small hands clenched into fists
Beads of sweat rolled down my face from the concentration as I pulled the mana fragments closer and closer.
The formation of the mana core was not as easy as I thought, it would be ,it required more effort than understanding some mathematical and scientific theories
I felt the mana moving and trickling to my almost formed core, slowly and patiently forming a sphere around my sternum, like puzzle pieces coming together and creating a cool but complicated phenomenon.
The size of a mana core does not determine its power. Rather, it depends on the purity of the core. Starting with a black core, a mage purifies it through the stages of dark, solid, and then light. Over time, the color becomes lighter and lighter, which is usually called Core Progression. After black comes Red, followed by Orange, Yellow, Silver and finally white.
The white core being a the last known to the people of Dicathen, but after that comes the interogation stage and that stage is a mystery even to me because it has not been explained in the story what it is or how many stages it has.
As the last fragment joined with the core, I felt a warm feeling surrounding me.
as l started to open my eyes, the sight I saw was not the one I had expected. The entrance of the cave was now as big as a house, the terrain around me had spider-like craks that originated from me
everything around me was destroyed, the stones, the cave, the earth beneath me and in the middle of it all me covered in a transparent dome that surrounded me while i was floating in the air.
[ Congratulations, from now on you can become a demon ]
[ Do you want to do the procedure ]
[ Yes ] [ No ]
Ohh so I can choose not to be a demon and remain a human being I thought that was quite interesting development.
If the god though this race is good, than there must be a reason that it was given to me as a power in this world so without wasting more time the momente I landed on the ground I pressed the yes button.
[ Yes ]
And with a shock i fell to the ground not expecting to lose control of my body and fall to the ground, but that was just the beginning of what I had to endure, because after that hell began, the excruciating and seemingly never ending pain, my body was deconstructed and constructet to an atomic level, every cell in my body changed to something better and stronger i felt the mana around me nourish my body as slowly the pain increased to such a levels most people would wish to die better than this.
It felt like millions of ants were crawling on my skin and their legs were spiked with sharp little needles, inuring my extremely sensitive body I felt the urge to vomit as my organs felt like they were moving around my body slowly blood started to appear all around my body,after some time I could not take it anymore and passed out.
Not knowing that when I wake up i will be vastly different then before.
