Chapter 5: ALONE - II
I changed my direction and was now aiming for mom but Dane beat me to it,he had stabbing mom and he didn't stop there,he took something familiar from his belt pocket and then stabbed her in the throat with it.
I saw dad approaching Dane and it looked like he was going to attack him,so I ran towards him in a bid to stop him but I was too late, Dad reached there before I could and tore Dane up from the back.
It was horrifying,but I could do nothing but watch,I was scared but then dad turned to me and he muttered something that I couldn't understand ,he approached me and with every step he took towards me,I instinctively took a step back,I didn't know what to do,"Was I going to die?",I asked myself.I needed to protect myself but with what?,I then remembered what Dane used to stab mom in the throat,it was a jade dagger coated with the saliva of a dragon,mom had it made specially for Ellen and Dane.
And then,it hit me, Ellen still had hers and she hadn't used it yet but how would I get past dad and so I got an idea, although I wasn't sure if it would work,I still tried it .Mom had taught me how to use magic as I was the only one who seemed interested in it but till now,I could only manage to control the air around me,it would be worth the try.
I stopped my movements and inhaled sharply just like mom had told me to, then I summoned nature and she obeyed, I concentrated my full force towards his direction but he was persistent,he didn't give in,I could feel myself getting weaker by each passing second but he still wasn't giving in,"I couldn't give up,I had come this far and I had lost all it was that could be lost so I have to finish this battle even if it took my last breath for the sake of my family ",I called again and this time, it came with full force,dad was blown off to a corner and it gave me enough time to reach Ellen, seeing Ellen up close and in that state,made me feel vulnerable and angry,I couldn't do anything to protect them but I'd make sure that I avenge them.
I pulled out the dagger from her belt pocket and headed towards dad,as much as I was determined,I was also heartbroken after all ,he was my father and I was closer to him than I was with my mom but it needed to be done,he needed to die and it looked like I wasn't the only one who wanted to kill the other as he also approached me,I was grateful to be small because I easily evaded his first attack and jabbed his knees with my needles,he hissed in pain.
I wanted to move away but in an instant he caught me and this time instead of strangling me,he bit me,it felt like he was draining all the blood from my body,I cried out but then I realized how close I was to him so I stabbed him with dagger. Dad released me from his grip and fell down,dead I assumed and I also fell down,"Was this my end?, Will I also die now?"I asked myself before I surrendered to the darkness .
