Chapter 54: EP 51 - PULLING SOME STRINGS.
Sky rolled across her bed as she felt someone tapping her !lightly.
"Leave me alone. Just give me one more minute ."
"Wake up !!" It was her big brother Raul who was now shaking her.
He pointed to her phone."Turn that damned thing off. I've been hearing it in my sleep."
Sky yawned and sat up.
"How come I didn't hear it?"
"Because you were left in fairy tale land. " He jested and left her room. Sky gazed at her phone blankly at first because she was recovering from sleep but finally came to her senses when she realized she had Ten missed calls .
Sky immediately called back and then the person picked up immediately ."Hey, are you there?"
Sky rubbed her eyes and checked the time.
8:45pm.
How come she didn't sound groggy at night!
"Yeah. Any problems?"
"No . But I need you to come over to Su ling's house , ASAP. And bring some decorations."
Sky was surprised and her eyes and brain were now clear. "Why?"
"Trust me." The voice on the other end said and ended the call.
Sky sighed and hurriedly put on a simple gown patterned with beautiful flowers . She carefully tiptoed across her brother room and was nearing the basement when a door creaked open.
"Where are you going?" Raul said with an impish grin on his face.
"Please don't tell mami. She'll be so pissed."Sky pleaded.
"What are you going to do for me Skylar ?" Raul raised an eyebrow.
Sky groaned. "Ill do all your chores for a month ."
"Interesting..." Raul stroked his Chin. "Throw in your monthly allowances and you've got a deal."
"Aren't you supposed to be my brother and help me no matter what?" Sky retorted.
"This is business sweetie. Its hustle or Bustle. But if you don't want to..." Raul spoke slyly. "I wonder how mami would feel to see you sneaking out of the house past curfew."
Sky huffed and nodded in agreement to his bargin.
"Nice working with you .Have fun in whatever you're doing."He laughed and closed the door.
"Jerk!!!!"
She headed towards the basement and after acquiring all she needed , She headed to her destination.

Obi pressed the doorbell, standing infront of John magnificent home.
It always took his breath away.
The door opened and Obi was standing before a huge man that had the looks. of a movie star.
He couldn't. believe it.
He was standing before the renowned Duncan Alec !!!!!!
"Good afternoon...I mean ...Good evening Sir. My name is Brown Obi ...I mean Obi Brown. I'm here for John." Obi stammered, at loss for words.
Duncan Alec looked at this boy from head to toe. So this was the boy that John was talking about. Duncan signaled for the butler to fetch John and left Obi standing at the door.
John came downstairs .
"What's up ?"
"I think I just met James Bond ." He gasped. "Why didn't you tell me your Father was so cool !!!!"
"Um ...hello... Have you not met me????"John raised his eyebrows.
"That's different. You see I thought you were the cool, serious rich guy but he beats you hands down, over and out!!!"
John Sighed. "What are you doing here?"
"I don't know. Su ling called to tell me to come pick you up." Obi replied.
John checked his phone.
9:00pm.
It must have been really important for her to call at this time of night.
They got in a car and set off.
There was an awkward silence between the two.
"John, there's something I have to tell you."Obi broke the silence.
"Oh my God , don't tell me that you have three months to live ."John said looking at him but hands on the steering wheel.
"No!! I just wanted to tell you that I know I've acting strange lately." Obi confessed and told him everything About his house.
John shook his head. "Is there anything I can do to help!!"
"That is exactly why I didn't tell you guys!! I don't want it to seem as if I'm taking advantage of you guys. Especially Su ling." Obi sighed and continued. "But today when I decided to talk to my mom about it , She was all teary and that's when she told me that some anonymous person had cleared off all our debts and the house was hers!!!! Can you believe it?!!!"!
John smiled. "I'm so happy for you Obi, But you have to tell the others, You know."
Obi nodded and continued ."I can't stop thanking the person whoever he/she is." he added and they finally arrived at Su ling's house .
Obi received another text. It read:
'Come to the basement and I'll be waiting '.
"Is this getting creepy or what?"John mused.
They walked towards the basement and John heard a scream.
Obi was gone.
John began to shiver as he opened the Door leading to the basement and yelled. "Guys this isn't funny!!"
He turned round and saw a torch light flickered in the distance . He moved nearer to it and a bodyless head popped up.
"Boo!"
John yelled and some one switched on the light.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!" . Everyone yelled.
It was his friends that did all this for him.He held back the tears in his eyes. "Thanks guys , I really mean it."
Su ling patted his shoulder."Don't mention it. It was a group effort. Eva brought up the idea, Obi brought you here, Sky brought the decorations while I whipped up some cupcakes and muffins."
John nodded to Obi and he sighed. "I need to tell you all something, I just told John some minutes ago...

Su ling slapped Obi on his back. "You should have told me!"
"I didn't want to be a burden." He said.
"You can never be a burden to us..." Eva said.
"Besides isn't that what friends are for???"Su ling smiled.
Su ling grinned. "I'm glad it's all sorted out ...but these cakes aren't going to eat themselves."
"Lets dig in." Sky added promptly as she ate one.
"So good!!" Obi called out.
Eva handed one to John and took him to a far corner. "What did you do??"She raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing " He shrugged and ate a muffin. "Just pulled some strings."
John thought back to that afternoon.
His father had returned from work and requested to see him. John had gone to his office only to receive a parcel. He promptly tore it open and came face to face with a black card.
A card that gave him unlimited access to his father Finances and money. He could buy as much as he ever wanted.
John had sighed and broke the card in two to Duncan's astonishment.
"Do You think that you can buy me off ???? Or maybe you forgot and you're trying to placate me. You couldn't even call on my birthday because you were at one of your companies and Mother was at a Premiere!!!! You know what Father , I am sick of this. If you and mother don't have any affection for me just to take just a few hours from work just to celebrate your only Son's birthday , Then there's is no need for all this. All I want you to do is buy out this house on this address and deed it to the current Resident, Tasha Brown and based on anonymity That's all I need . Good day Father." He had said at once and walked out leaving his father baffled.
Few hours later, his Father had emailed him signed copies of his transactions of buying the house and John smiled to himself.
Eva snapped her fingers in front of him to bring him
back to reality.
They all gathered round a table and Eva held the die firmly.
"We seriously messed up last time..."
Every one nodded in agreement.
"So I say , let us give it one last Shot. Lets kick Scylla butt so hard , she'd regret she ever crossed our path...Who's with me!!"
"Yeah...
"Lets do it!!!"
"I'm ready!!"
"Awesome"
Eva grinned and tossed the die.
