Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Butterflies in His Stomach
Selena could feel the heat from his chest spreading to her cold fingertips. Perhaps he was having a slight fever.
Who on earth was he?
How did he get such a serious gunshot wound?
Who were those people who wanted to ambush him just now? And if they really were there for him, why?
......
Selena bit her lip, too many suspicions flooding her mind.
Partially, this was also why she didn't call the police. Regardless whether he was good or evil, as a doctor, she would try her best to treat him. Social status was nothing to a doctor like her.
Selena withdrew her hand. Then, she took a clean gauze and applied it to Jefferson's bleeding abdomen.
He had lost too much blood. Her immediate priority was to stop the bleeding.
The pain didn't even make him groan or gain consciousness. However, he grabbed Selena's wrist so abruptly, his tight grip almost crushing the bones in her wrist.
Selena winced. Despite that, she didn't withdraw her hand and kept applying pressure to his wound.
As soon as the bleeding stopped, she removed the gauze that was soaked in blood. It was only then that he let go of her wrist.
She moved her sore wrist around for a brief moment before stitching up the wound with a needle and thread. Fortunately, Jefferson did not move this time. She quickly stitched the wound up and bandaged it.
Selena leaned against the edge of the bed exhaustedly after finally treating his wound. She looked at the unconscious man on the bed.
"How dare you assault me and tear my clothes!" A hint of fatigue could be heard in Selena's hoarse voice as she snorted and muttered, "I would definitely send you to the police station if you weren't injured!"
She was very tired...
She was exhausted from having to carry a man twice her size home and treat his wounds right after.
Leaning against the edge of the bed, Selena eventually dozed off.

Morning soon arrived, and the blaring sun shone through the window into the room.
Jefferson woke up and instantly felt alarmed. The first thing he saw was that he was in a room painted in pastel pink.
He touched the wound on his abdomen and realized that it had been bandaged.
It was her...
It was then that he turned around and noticed Selena sleeping soundly beside him.
Her breathing was even although he had stolen her bed, her long and thick eyelashes fluttering with every breath she took. Despite having no makeup on, her lips were cherry red, tempting him to come closer and take a bite.
She did not look as sly as she was when she was awake. In fact, her sleeping face looked innocent and defenseless.
It seemed that she didn't call the police and instead treated his wounds on her own.
All of a sudden, Jefferson noticed a dark bruise on her pale wrist.
He vaguely remembered grabbing something to fight off the extreme pain the night before. He didn't expect it to be her wrist.
Well, despite looking as fragile as glass, Selena defied his expectations entirely. Jefferson gazed at her, a hint of awe creeping into his eyes.
Although Selena didn't remember him, he remembered her.
He gently caressed her lips.
They were as soft as he had imagined.
Amidst her sleep, Selena could feel a rough and strange touch on her lips. She hated it when others disturbed her sleep, so she bit his finger in annoyance.
It didn't hurt at all. On the contrary, Jefferson could feel a tingly sensation on his finger. The occasional wet feeling of her tongue on his finger made him slightly aroused, his body reacting to it before his mind could process his thoughts.
