Today would be the day Itachi and Kisame would arrive in Konoha, if I hadn't fucked the plot so hard in the ass. Itachi, after Hiruzen's death, would come to Konoha to warn Danzo to keep his pedophile hands away from Sasuke. But Sasuke is dead, Danzo is dead and Sarutobi is dead. So, why would Itachi come to Konoha?
Sad really, I wanted to look at the fucker in the eye with a snicker. Miserable idiot who gave up on himself, for the sake of peace of others. Even after all these years I still can't quench my hate for this guy. He murdered everyone in his clan so others can live peacefully. What the fuck?
Anyways, no Sasuke means no Itachi coming. That is enough for me. Instead, on this fine day, Naruto, Hinata, Ino and I are sitting in a Dango shop with Kakashi and Anko.
"I can't believe Orochimaru died." Anko muttered as she grabbed the back of her shoulder.
"Yeah." Kakashi nodded slightly. "He always seemed unkillable."
'You have no idea.' I grinned under my breath.
"What will happen now?" Naruto asked with a crestfallen face. "What will happen to Gaara?"
"Rasa was forced to step down. So, as his kin Gaara is to take the seat in the future. But as long as Rasa lives, Gaara will never truly be free of his control. Although you changed his perspective, you cannot break him out of his shackles placed over the years."
All of them turned to look at me.
"What? Didn't you see how Rasa could control even the bloodthirsty out of control Gaara?" I looked back. "It is obvious now that the Elder Council and Father of the new Kage will mold him in their shape. The clashing ideologies of old goats will create an abomination."
"Gaara is not a monster!" Naruto exclaimed.
"He is not. He is just a jinchuriki. He is an innocent host of the beast who is also again innocent." I sighed helplessly. "But when they are done with Gaara, he will become a monster."
"Stop!" I stopped Naruto as he was about to defend his new friend. "I don't mean literally. His mind is going to break apart between the 'education' of parties trying to manipulate him before he takes the hat."
"We have to help him." Naruto looked at me eagerly.
"We can't." I shook my head. " Naruto, you gotta understand. Before Tsunade came and cleared your situation, when the mindless people of the village hated you, could a Cloud Shinobi come and stop them from hating you?
Could anyone from any other village take you away before they hurt you anymore?"
"He is not just the host of the Tailed Beast! He is GAARA!"
"I didn't say it is because of his identity as a Host. It is the same for any of us. Since we are Shinobi and Kunoichi of Konoha, any outside interruption would disturb the trust. We already forced them to take their Kage down. Do you think they would allow us to take the new one until he takes the hat?
They will think we, instead, will try to wash his mind and mold him as our puppet. Sorry Naruto, I know it is tough but it is the Ninja World we live in."
Naruto looked even more gloomy before a voice interrupted his thought.
"I finally found you, you lot." A white haired man exclaimed.
"Jiraiya-sama." Anko and Kakashi nodded with respect while, we Genin, just looked at the man.
"Guys, this is Jiraiya-sama. He is a Sannin alongside Tsunade-sama and Orochimaru. He is also..."
"That should be enough. I am Toad Sage." Jiraya flashed a smile then looked at Naruto. "Naruto, would you like to go on a trip with me?"
"Trip to where?" Naruto asked.
"We are going to look for Orochimaru's base, and clear out their evil." Jiraiya stated with a no-bullshit tone.
"Why me though?" Naruto looked baffled. "I am just a Genin."
I fucked things a bit huh. Yeah, in the Anime, Naruto would meet with Jiraiya during the one month break between the second and third stage of the exam. Signing Toad Contract, being his pseudo-student.
Later, to save Sasuke and Kakashi, both of them would go on an adventure to search for Tsunade. Learning Rasengan from him, bonding even further. Replacing the father figure in his head with Jiraya. And later even more bonding when he realizes Jiraiya is just like him and lost a friend to darkness. Going on another adventure with him lasting almost 3 years.
I changed them all. I made him sign a contract with Tengu, I taught him Rasengan way before that. I changed his mindset so he wouldn't look for a daddy figure in every corner, and now his relationship with Jiraiya was non-existent.
"Erm…" Jiraiya didn't know what to say. He thought Naruto would jump to be taken away by him, but he also understood why he didn't want to. He had friends and a girlfriend in the village. He of course didn't want to leave.
"Naruto, Jiraiya-Sama is Fourth's Sensei." Kakashi commented from the side much to Jiraiya's gratitude. "He is also one of the best living seal masters."
"Oh, can you teach me, Old man?" Naruto asked in excitement.
"I sure can!" Jiraiya beamed with happiness. "Ehm, I mean I can teach you if you have the talent for it."
"Alright! Let's go then!" Naruto shouted in excitement.
"Naruto, shouldn't you think it through. At least talk with your girlfriend first?" I hit him in the head. "What will we do, Sensei when this idiot is away?"
"Well, actually we are beyond being a team anyway." Kakashi sighed.
"You mean?!" I asked with my eyes wide open.
"Yeah, let's go to see Hokage-Sama." Kakashi nodded and we left. Not long after we were in front of Tsunade. Jiraiya was seated on a window stool. Kakashi, Asuma (Who now looked proud and walked with his chest puffed once again thanks to his lunatic father sacrificing himself for the village,) Kurenai, Gai, Genma and Hyuuga Iroha stood with their Genin Teams.
"Let's start with congratulations…" Tsunade scrutinized us. "Step up, Uzumaki Naruto."
"Yes, Grand— Hokage-Sama." Naruto walked a step.
"Your tactical mind and wide catalog of Jutsu and sharp mind allows you to make use of the environment to its best and makes you a spectacular Shinobi. By the power bestowed on me, I now promote you to a Chunin!"
"Yes!" Naruto pumped up with a great jump.
"Koushin, step up."
"Yes, Hokage-Sama."
"You have great abilities. Some of the best I have seen in my life and I am so glad that you are the Shinobi of my village. You know many great Jutsu way above your Rank. With your unique summoning contract you are as strong as the best Chunin can offer, but you are still young and need to experience more what the role really means. For that means, I promote you to a Chunin."
"Thank you, Hokage-Sama." I answered gracefully. After that, Tsunade promoted a few others as well.
Shikamaru, Sai, Shin, Neji and Ino were promoted as well. Sadly, Shino was eliminated in the preliminaries and had no chance to show off.
