Chapter 4: Arriving on Coruscant
"Wake up, little one. We've arrived at our destination." Master Kona Ti shook my shoulder, waking me up from my peaceful sleep.
I used my tiny hands to rub my eyes, groggily waking up with a small, childlike groan. "Mmm... are we here?"
As I rubbed my eyes, I looked outside the canopy. We're currently hovering over a red planet with golden circles and lines throughout the planet. It looked like a formation of some sort, but with my otherworld knowledge, I knew this was the planet Coruscant.
Master Kona Ti chuckled at my childish actions before pressing a yellow button. Pressing the yellow button, the ring attached to her starfighter disconnected. It flew away, and after a few minutes, we entered Coruscant's atmosphere.
I kept my eyes peeled, watching as Coruscant entered my vision. I was amazed by how surreal and sci-fi everything looked.
From the very tall, large, futuristic buildings to the flying cars that passed by that looked like they were driven randomly,
However, I saw some people getting pulled over by the air traffic police. Written on their airships was the kind of language you'd see in Star Wars movies. I forgot what it was called, and I unfortunately cannot translate it into English yet.
Anyway, the city was exactly how I remembered it to be. Since I'm currently living in an earlier timeline than the first movie, I wonder what the Jedi Order is like. I played some of the games, especially an MMO, but I haven't gotten too much into it.
I guess I'll have to wait and see. From what I know, there's an ongoing war, and I'm not sure which one it is.
Looking outside the canopy, we approached the magnificent Jedi Temple. "That's the Jedi Temple, where you'll spend most of your days as a Jedi initiate. Hold your questions until later, youngling." Master Kona Ti spoke before pressing buttons in the cockpit.
I nodded my head and stayed silent. We were nearing one of the five large towers of the temple, where I assume the Starfighter hangar is.

Ten minutes later, we successfully landed on a pad outside one of the five towers. Pressing a blue button, the canopy clicked and slowly lifted itself.
Soon after, Master Kona Ti jumped out of the Starfighter with me in her arms. When her feet landed, she placed me on the ground before talking to a female temple employee about her ship.
I looked around the hangar and could see various Starfighter ships currently being worked on. Some were badly damaged, almost like they'd been in a large-scale battle. The rest of the Starfighters received routine maintenance.
About five minutes passed before Master Kona Ti called out to me. "Come, youngling. Let's get you dressed in your uniform. After that, we'll bring you to your assigned group."
"Okay!" I yelled. I was very excited to have my own uniform. Ah, and how can I forget?! I'll get to have my very own lightsaber!
I grabbed onto her cloak, and we stepped onto an elevator—Master Kona Ti called it a turbolift—and we descended from the starfighter hangar to a hallway. Looking around, I could see long hallways filled with droids, Jedi, and employees walking to and from places.
To reach our destination, we needed to walk across hallways, turn corners, and climb stairs. It took nearly an hour to reach our destination.
Master Kona Ti and I arrived at a dorm. Upon entering, we can see many small children running around and talking among themselves.
They were all wearing tan or gray tunics, and holding them in place were their brown leather belts. Their feet were in brown, leather boots. Some of the children couldn't wear the uniform because of their alien anatomy, so they had to use a sash.
All the children in the room looked at me and Master Kona Ti. They all gave her a small bow before they greeted her. "Hello, Master Kona Ti!" which made the latter laugh.
"Hello to you too, younglings. I've brought along a new friend. I'll introduce you to her after she gets her uniform."
After saying so, Master Kona Ti brought me to a room where unused uniforms were kept. She pulled out a grey tunic, a leather belt, and leather boots.
She helped me change out of my current clothes and into the uniform. I have to say, I didn't think it would be as comfortable as it is.
Master Kona Ti brought me to a mirror that reflected herself and a pretty young girl.
The young girl had pale skin and short, snow-colored hair that reached her shoulders. On her adorable face were thin, white-haired eyebrows, and underneath were sky-blue eyes with white-colored eyelashes protecting them. She had a small, raised nose and thin pink lips below it.
The adorable young girl wore a grey tunic made to fit her, and wrapped around her waist was a leather belt. On her small, delicate feet were simple brown, leather boots.
After showing me my current attire, she brought me back to where the other children were.
She gestured a hand toward me as she spoke. "Alright, younglings. This little one is named Halan Kanjen. She will be learning beside you on her way to becoming a full-fledged Jedi."
She then pointed to a group in the far corner of the room, near a window. "I've placed her in Saru Yorea's group. Saru, please get yourself and your group acquainted with Halan."
Looking in the direction Master Kona Ti pointed, I could see a group of five children. They were sitting in a "V" position and were previously talking to each other before being called out by Master Kona Ti.
At the left tip of the "V" formation was an alien with a pink, squid-like head and four tentacles protruding from its jaw. I noticed the child had three finned fingers on its pink hand. I knew some of the species names in Star Wars, and this one was a Quarren, I think? Also, I assume this one was a girl due to her feminine figure.
On the right of the Quarren girl was a human boy who looked like someone from Korea. He had raven-black hair and dark brown, monolid eyes.
Sitting across from the Quarren girl was an alien boy with rough, pinkish-tan skin and down-curved cranial horns. If I had to guess, I would say the boy is from the Iktotchi race.
Sitting to the left of the Iktotchi boy was a child that looked human. However, he had an enlarged skull that extended upward, extending ten centimeters above his forehead. On the lower back of his skull was brown hair that reached his shoulders. On his face were thick eyebrows and blue eyes. I forget which species he is, but I've definitely seen someone like him before.
Finally, at the point of the "V" formation was a pretty young girl with purple skin and two head-tails, which didn't deform her head, that extended down to her lower back. Around her head and head-tails was a leather headdress, engraved in some language I don't recognize. She had yellow eyes framed by thin, black eyebrows.
I knew what species this girl was: a Twi'lek. By the way, Twi'leks are my favorite Star Wars species.
The Twi'lek girl stood up and waved at me with her hand. "Hello, I'm Saru Yorea. Welcome to my group, Halan!"
Looking up at Master Kona Ti, she nodded her head and gently pushed my back. With some hesitation, I walked over to her group, and the rest of the children returned to talking and playing.
Arriving at their group, Saru pointed at each person and introduced them. She first pointed at the Quarren girl, and her name was Shus Frok; she was from the Mon Cala planet, located on the Outer Rim territory.
Next was the human boy; his name was Garean Alwcot, and he was from the planet Alderaan, located in the Galactic Core.
After Garean, Saru pointed at the Iktotchi boy, Rishal Tisul. He's from the planet Iktotch, which is located on the expansion rim. Apparently, the expansion rim was between the inner rim and the mid rim.
Second to last was the boy with an enlarged skull. His name was Roh Chrel, and he was from the planet Cerea, located on the Mid Rim. As I already knew about the others, I now know that Roh's species is Cerean.
Lastly, Saru told me a bit about herself. "My name is Saru Yorea, a Twi'lek. I... I was born on the moon Nar Shaddaa, located in Hutt Space. However, my mother was from the planet Ryloth... A-Anyway, where are you from?"
"I'm Halan Kanjen, and I'm from the planet Kinzara, located in the Outer Rim. I just left there a bit ago." I said, looking at Saru, who made a thinking face.
"The Kinzara planet? I've never heard of that one before. I guess it's way out on the Outer Rim, huh?" Saru said, seemingly sure she was right.
I shrugged. "I guess so. I'm not really sure."
"Well, you're one of us now! Welcome aboard, Halan!" Saru said with a wide smile. We then started talking until lunch was called.
Saru told me that since I joined late, I missed the beginning classes. I had to learn what I missed in the next class tomorrow morning.
I nodded, and we were soon led by Master Kona Ti on our way to lunch.

People who follow lore, I've read something about the initiate rank not being a thing until a certain time period, which is later than the story's current timeline. Anyway, if that is indeed the case, then I'm tweaking it a bit to fit my story better.
Please note that you will not see any CANON lore characters in this story, however, you will see people from the Old Republic era.
