Chapter 12: chapter 12 strange old man

As Veer is on his way home, he notices some children his age who are likely on holiday from school. Veer observes that these children are wearing uniforms from three different schools, with labels indicating Magician School, Warrior School, and Common School.

Magician School specializes in elemental magic, rigorous spell casting, and mana cultivation. Warrior School enhances physical prowess, weapon mastery, and tactical combat. Common School focuses on versatility, basic self-defense, academics, and community building. Each school prepares students for unique roles in their society, contributing diversity to their shared world.

Veer reflects on his own education and recalls that he had to leave his studies halfway through due to his inability to pay the fees, as he is an orphan. As he ponders this, Veer hears a voice calling out to him from the group of children: "Hey, Veer, come over here!"

When Veer looks back, he says is it you?

Veer asked Lucky, "How did you become so skilled? Did you pass the tests to become a warrior or a magician?"

Lucky replied, "Yes, I passed the test to become a warrior. I have been practicing martial arts since childhood, and I was thrilled to get admitted to the Indi Martial Arts School."

As they chatted, another person approached from behind and asked, "Excuse me, who is this Lucky you're talking about?"

When Lucky turned around, he saw that it was none other than his friend from his martial arts class. Lucky then introduced Veer to his classmate Suray, saying, "Veer, meet my friend Suray."

Lucky then asked Veer if he had passed the test to become a magician or warrior at the Battle Mages Organization. Veer was about to respond when Lucky's school friend interrupted him.

"What are you saying, Lucky? Did Veer go to take a test at the Battle Mages Organization?"

"Yes, I went and passed the warrior test, and I am now a rank 1 warrior. Today, I went to the Battle Mages Organization to collect my reward," replied Veer.

Lucky expressed surprise, saying "So, you are now an official warrior. I thought you wanted to become a magician?"

Veer replied, "Yes, I had that desire, but now it is what it is. By the way, where are you headed?" he asked, in a playful tone.

Understanding Veer's joking tone, Lucky invited him to join them for training at their nearby martial arts gym. "Hey Veer, would you like to come with us?" asked Lucky.

Veer declined the invitation, saying, "No, I can't do it now because I have some work to do." In truth, Veer wanted to go to the gym with his friend, but he still needed to acquire the necessary magic spells for his magician abilities.

He also needed to learn how to convert his mana into different elements. Veer knew of two places where he could obtain what he needed. The first was the Battle Mages Organization, but he could no longer go there. The other was the black market, where he could get the spells, but he would have to keep his identity a secret. He planned to buy a no-face mask from a store in the Battle Mages Organization to conceal his identity.

After bidding farewell to his friend, Veer went back home to start his search for the necessary spells and training materials.

It was 10:45 PM at night and Veer realized it was time for him to head out. He put on his no-face mask to conceal his identity, ensuring that no one would recognize him. Veer was close to the black market and knew he had to buy the magic spell that would help him control his power element. He needed to learn how to channel the energy of the element into his blade to increase his fighting ability.

After making up his mind, Veer headed towards the black market shop. He saw that it was a Black Magician Spell Shop, which was where he hoped to find the spell he needed.

Veer noticed that the name of the shop was a bit peculiar, but he proceeded with caution. He knew that the magician who owned the shop was of an unknown rank and had a reputation for being a little eccentric. In the past, the magician had even cut off a customer's hand and put it in a pot, and after chanting some mantras, the person had started laughing uncontrollably, causing chaos in the shop.

The incident had frightened off many customers, but Veer had come to this particular shop because he had heard that the magician could also control the lighting element.

With a trembling voice, Veer musters up the courage to enter the Black Magician Spell Shop. Inside, he sees an 80-year-old man muttering to himself.

"I need to find a student," the old man sighs. "Someone to whom I can pass on all the spells of my lightning element and the magic knowledge I've accumulated over the years."

Veer's eyes light up at the thought that this old man might be looking for a student to inherit his knowledge and power.

I should talk to him once, Veer thinks to himself. As he's contemplating this, he suddenly feels a lightening bolt and hears a loud thunderclap. As a result, the mana in Veer's body starts to increase rapidly, and he's unable to control the surge. Blood starts flowing from his nose, and he faints.

After some time...

Veer wakes up with a groan, realizing that the old man has trapped him with his magic. "Who's stopping me here?" Veer exclaims. As he opens his eyes, he sees that he's tied to a wooden chair.

"Well, well, well, look who's awake," a voice says from in front of Veer. He recognizes the voice and realizes that it's the old man.

The old man informed Veer that he was watching the wrong shop, as the owner was a 6th rank lightning magician.

As Veer listened to the old man, he responded, "You're mistaken. I'm not here to spy. I came to purchase magic spells. When I saw you speaking inside, I stopped to eavesdrop. Suddenly, you used your magic to render me unconscious and take me prisoner."
