Chapter 17: chapter 17 "The Convergence of Energies and Awakening of the Golden Core"

Veer nodded in agreement, fully comprehending the gravity of the situation. Taking the lead, Veer and the other members of the Fire of Magic guild began their retreat, cautiously making their way into the dense jungle. As they hurried away, Veer glanced back and was taken aback by what he witnessed. The wolf he had slain was being devoured by the pack of 60 wolves, all working together in a savage display.

Veer's astonishment grew as he contemplated the scene before him. He realized that it was indeed the law of the jungle, where strength dictated survival. As long as one remained formidable, nothing would befall them. Even in death, their own kind would not abandon them.

While running, Karva glanced at Veer and spoke, his words slightly strained amidst their hasty retreat. "In order to gain power in the presence of these creatures, they consume Source Stones or even other formidable monsters. Nevertheless, you've successfully passed the test, which means you'll be recognized as an official member of our guild. Tomorrow, you can visit our guild base and acquire your guild ID card. Following that, we'll embark on a mission where both the Guild Master and the Voice Guild Master will be present. So, prepare yourself."

Veer acknowledged Karva's words with a nod, his mind consumed by thoughts of what transpired just two days ago.

Two days prior, Veer had been engrossed in practicing the Lightning Body Cultivation Technique. As he honed his skills, Veer found himself gaining better control over the element of lightning. The energy manifested itself in the form of a majestic lion, occasionally allowing Veer to manipulate it to perform impressive feats, such as effortlessly igniting and burning a nearby can.

Amidst the exhilaration of these newfound abilities, Veer couldn't help but revisit the idea that had crossed his mind earlier. "Should I attempt to merge my internal energy and mana?" he pondered. Recalling his previous experience, where the combination had threatened to erupt uncontrollably, Veer acknowledged that he had narrowly averted disaster. However, the sheer power unleashed during that near-explosion surpassed both mana and internal energy individually.

"This means," Veer contemplated, "that if I successfully merge these two energies, my strength will undoubtedly surge to greater heights."

With determined focus, Veer began directing his attention to the control of both his mana and internal energy within his body. Guiding these energies, he channeled them from their respective sources—the mana from his heart and the internal energy from his stomach—towards his head.

Gradually, the two energies intertwined, their meeting point radiating a captivating golden light. However, Veer's initial success was short-lived, as he suddenly found himself losing control over the merging energies.

"This golden light," Veer mused, recognizing it as a completely new energy formed from the convergence of mana and internal energy. He realized that this energy was unique to him, as no one else could harness it. With this realization, Veer decided to christen it as Golden Energy. However, he hadn't yet fully achieved the fusion of mana and internal energy, leaving him pondering on the next steps.

Recalling his knowledge from a previous life, Veer recollected a martial art called Tai Chi, practiced in a country known as China. In Tai Chi, two energies circled each other, eventually coming together in harmony. Veer contemplated whether adopting a similar approach might assist him in successfully merging his mana and internal energy.

As Veer diligently practiced the Tai Chi technique, he witnessed the formation of a third core within his head. This core, akin to his mana core and internal energy core, gradually took shape, fueled by the merging energies. Veer allowed both mana and internal energy to flow into this newfound golden core, witnessing its strength intensify with each influx. However, amid this process, a sudden shattering sound reverberated through Veer's consciousness.

"Cruc..." Veer began, a mix of astonishment and realization coloring his voice. "Could it be that I have surpassed my previous limits? Does this signify a rank advancement?"

Contemplating his situation, Veer couldn't help but feel that despite his newfound strength, there was an indescribable difference in how he perceived it. Though his mana appeared unchanged, he couldn't shake the sensation that he had progressed in some other aspect. Veer's thoughts turned inward as he closed his eyes, delving into his inner mind.

Within this introspective realm, Veer was greeted by the sight of a resplendent golden star, resembling a radiant sun. Astonished, he pondered if this celestial object was none other than the golden core he had forged mere moments ago.

"The size is truly enormous when I combine my mana core and internal energy core, resulting in a golden core that is larger. In comparison, the difference in size between the moon and the Earth appears insignificant compared to the strength of this golden core. I must accomplish this quickly before I proceed with the guild test."

After opening his eyes and attempting to gather his mental strength, Veer noticed something peculiar. Whenever he tried to utilize his mental abilities, an overwhelming sense of exhaustion washed over him.

"What is this? I have only just begun to gather my mental strength, and yet I am already feeling exhausted. What is happening? Do I need to undergo specific training for this as well? Uh..."

While Veer contemplated this phenomenon, he suddenly experienced dizziness. Confusion filled his mind as he tried to understand the cause, but before Veer could grasp any clarity, he fainted.

As the evening sun bathed Delhi Noida's old apartment in a warm glow, Veer's eyes slowly opened at precisely 5 PM on June 25th, 2125. The room was filled with an air of anticipation.

"Ah, my head still throbs. It's reminiscent of the pain I experienced when Avi's soul merged with mine," Veer remarked. Suddenly, a chilling sensation coursed through his brain, extending its icy tendrils throughout his body. This coolness traversed from his brain, passing through his mana core, and reached his internal energy core. As a result, Veer sensed a profound transformation within his mana and internal energy.
