Chapter 35: Chapter 35 A Twist of Fate

"Sir, did the senior catch the murderer?" Veer asks, his voice filled with worry.

"No, Veer. He had already left by the time the senior arrived," Dhuvar replies in a monotonous voice.

"How did he know that a rank 7 senior was going there to look for him?" Veer asks, rubbing his eyes.

"Veer, I don't know that either. But I can say one thing - anyone affiliated with the Dark Murderous Circle organization needs to be careful now. They've messed with the Battle Mages Alliance, and you may not know this, but when anyone provokes them, the consequences are severe. The most powerful magicians and warriors in this world have formed an alliance to protect humanity and ensure a peaceful life for the general public. The Dark Murderous Circle organization has angered these giants. You probably haven't seen their video on the Battle Mages Alliance forum today, where they both vowed to destroy the organization completely within one month and not spare the murderer," Dhuvar explains.

"We apologize to the families who have lost their loved ones. We will ensure that these murderers face justice," he continues.

"The video ends after this," Dhuvar tells Veer.

"Hey Veer, I'm sorry I forgot that you called me. What did you need?" Dhuvar asks Veer.

"Sir, it's not much. I just wanted to know if I can get information about that murderer. In case I accidentally come across him, I can contact someone for help. Also, I wanted to know if I can go to the forest area where rank 2 monsters live without a guild mission," Veer explains.

"Hmm, Veer. For your first point, I will provide you with the information about that murderer. But as for your second point, I advise against going alone into such a forest area. It could be dangerous for you, as monsters live in groups there, just like the pack of demon wolves that were after you. So, Veer, I strongly recommend that you don't go alone. But if you still want to go, I won't stop you. Just take care of yourself, okay?" Dhuvar advises.

Veer feels relieved and appreciates Dhuvar's concern for his well-being. He replies, "Yes, sir. I will take care of it. But can I encounter that murderer again in the Forest 055? When I go there?"

After thinking for a moment, Dhuvar responds, "Veer, I don't think you'll find that murderer in Forest 055. So, you can proceed with caution. However, be mindful of the monsters in that area. After we end this call, you will receive a file containing information about the murderer."

"Okay, sir," Veer acknowledges.

After ending the call, Veer receives a notification on his smartwatch. When he reads it, the information about the murderer is displayed:

Name: John Week

Ability: Internal Energy Warrior (Rank 4)

Affiliation: Dark Murderous Circle organization

Wanted: Reward of 10 million.

"Hmm, so the name of that bastard is John Wick. Just wait for me. I will kill you with my own hands once I become stronger. Don't let the Battle Mages Alliance catch you. Just wait for me to end you," Veer vows silently.

As Veer contemplates his thoughts, a bike rider pulls up outside Lucky's house. Veer immediately recognizes her as the girl who had previously given him 50,000 star dollars as compensation. The girl takes off her helmet, revealing her face.

"What are you doing here?" Veer asks, curious about her sudden appearance. Just then, someone calls out to the girl from a distance, surprising her.

"Do I know you?" the girl asks, trying to recall Veer's face.

"No, but I'm the one who narrowly avoided an accident with your bike. You compensated me with 50,000 star dollars, and now I remember," Veer explains.

"Oh, so you're the one with the dirty bike. I didn't even remember your face. Why did you stop me?" the girl says, looking at Veer skeptically.

Veer responds, "I stopped you because I was wondering why you're here."

"I've come to investigate the boy who someone tried to kill. Since you were coming from the same house, you must be his brother or friend, am I right?" the girl asks, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Yes, I am his friend. But who are you, and why have you come here to investigate?" Veer raises his hands slightly, seeking an explanation.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Sunena, and I'm an officer from the Investigation Team of the Battle Mages Alliance. I've been assigned to ask some questions to your friend," Sunena reveals to Veer.

"If you don't mind, could you tell me what questions you want to ask him?" Veer inquires, curious about Sunena's intentions.

Soon after, Sunena explains to Veer what transpired during the car blast incident that day.

Veer breathes a sigh of relief and looks at Sunena with concern. "Please, don't ask him any more questions that might distress him," Veer requests, worried for Lucky's well-being.

"Okay, I'll take care of that," Sunena assures Veer. She then starts making her way towards Lucky's house.

Observing Sunena's movements towards Lucky's house, Veer thinks to himself, "Lucky will have to wait for some time until I can sort things out. I won't sit idly by while she's in distress."

Lost in his thoughts, Veer walks along the side of the road, contemplating his need to increase his strength to earn money. Since he obtained the golden core, both his mana and internal energy have been cultivating at an equal and rapid pace. However, he notices that both his mana and internal energy automatically flow into the golden core, intensifying his desire to rank up and enhancing his strength. To boost his internal energy, Veer understands the importance of consuming nutritious food, while for mana, he simply needs to gather it from the surrounding environment. Another method to augment his mana and internal energy is by extracting source stones from monsters that possess source energy. These stones contain a mysterious energy that aids in the training of internal energy, yet its nature remains elusive to all.

Additionally, Veer reflects on his limited understanding of mana and how to utilize it. Currently, he only knows how to employ the Thunder Storm spell, which generates a lightning storm with a range of approximately 10 meters. However, when he infuses his internal energy into the spell, its attack range expands to 60 meters, enveloping everything within it with electrifying devastation. Veer recalls his encounter with the lightning storm during his time in jail, where its destructive power was vividly displayed.

While using mana, Veer experiences a sensation akin to having an additional reservoir of internal energy at his disposal, but unlike internal energy, he can manipulate and control it outside his body. Veer ponders these thoughts as he continues walking on the roadside.

Suddenly, Veer realizes that he has arrived outside his own house, which is situated around 15 to 20 minutes away from Lucky's residence.
