Chapter 37: Chapter 37 Unusual Transformations and the Power of the Golden Core

Veer made up his mind and decided to purchase the LF 009 series model. He placed the order, provided his apartment's address and room number, and completed the online payment. Now, he needed a weapon to go along with his purchase. Veer browsed through the available weapon options and decided to choose a blade, as he had always been fond of them.

Clicking on the Blades category, Veer was presented with several choices. There were ten categories of blades available: Sword, Dagger, Axe, Spear, Bow and Arrow, Mace, Flail, Katana, War Hammer, and Blades. Veer filtered the options based on his preferences, selecting a blade with a rank of 3, weighing 25 kg, and falling within a price range of 30000 star dollars.

Three options appeared before Veer:

01. Terror Blade:

- Made of duranium metal and horn from a rank 3 black horned boar monster

- Weighs 20 kg

- Rank 3 blade

- Duranium metal quantity: 3 grams

- Price: 30000 star dollars

02. Troll Blade:

- A combination of duranium metal and rank 2 silver troll monster materials

- Weighs 21 kg

- Rank 3 blade

- Duranium metal quantity: 2 grams

- Price: 20000 star dollars

03. Light Area Blade:

- Made of rank 3 Light Fox Monster bones and duranium metal

- Weighs 15 kg

- Rank 3 blade

- Duranium metal quantity: 1.5 grams

- Price: 15000 star dollars

All of these blades were made with duranium metal. Veer realized he wasn't familiar with this type of metal and decided to search for more information about it before making a purchase. He lamented not having received a formal education since he was an orphan. Veer acknowledged that school was the place where one could learn about many things, but he chose not to dwell on his regrets and focused on searching for information about duranium metal.

Veer opened his laptop and used the search engine to look up "What is Duranium metal?" Shortly after, he found the desired information. Duranium metal was a unique type of metal that allowed both internal energy and mana to pass through it. When added to other metals, it granted them the same properties as Duranium. This made it highly sought after by weapon makers, as the more duranium used in a weapon, the more mana and internal energy it could harness.

Realizing the preciousness of duranium metal, Veer wondered about its price. He happened to stumble upon the price of Duranium: 10 grams for 5000 star dollars. Veer was astounded by the cost. If he were to purchase a weapon made entirely of 1 kg of duranium, it would cost a staggering 5,000,000 star dollars, not to mention the additional cost of the artisan crafting the weapon.

It became evident to Veer that he should opt for the first weapon he had come across, the Terror Blade, which contained a mere 3 grams of duranium metal. With this decision made, Veer proceeded to finalize his purchase.

After purchasing the Terror Blade, Veer turned his attention to the medicines category. Feeling unsure about the options, he typed in "mana replace" and "internal energy replace" to find the specific medicines he needed. A list of medicines ranging from rank 1 to rank 6, used for refilling mana, appeared before Veer. The price for rank 1 medicine was 2000 star dollars, while rank 6 medicine was priced at 120000 star dollars. Veer required rank 2 medicines, so he proceeded to purchase a bottle containing 5 of them, which cost 20000 star dollars.

With a total expenditure of 120000 star dollars for the day, Veer found himself with 70666 star dollars remaining in his bank account. He decided to engage in some window shopping, considering whether there was anything else he might want to buy.

Next, Veer explored the cultivation techniques for mana and internal energy. He had been utilizing the free cultivation techniques provided by the government and the Battle Mages Alliance, as their goal was to encourage every human to join the fight against monsters. However, once a warrior or magician reached rank 4, their cultivation speed would slow down, making it challenging to progress further. In such cases, one had to choose a specific cultivation technique that outlined the path to reaching rank 9 and beyond.

Veer contemplated whether he should invest in a cultivation technique in the future, but for now, he decided to wait until he reached rank 3. He continued browsing through the techniques, taking note of the information provided.

Realizing that his ordered items were likely to arrive the next day at 9 am, Veer resolved to spend the present time cultivating his mana and internal energy. He sat down, closed his eyes, and focused on controlling his breathing. Soon, particles of mana began entering his body, causing a soft, light blue glow to emanate from him.

After approximately three hours, Veer opened his eyes, and his appearance startled any family members who saw him. He seemed to have become extremely thin, as though he hadn't eaten in several days. Confused by his own condition, Veer questioned what had happened. He realized that ever since he formed his golden core, unusual things had been occurring. The golden core granted him the ability to utilize both internal energy and mana simultaneously. When he combined the two, he accessed a power greater than what mana and internal energy alone could provide. Moreover, the golden core had also bestowed him with mental power, enabling him to lift weights of up to 3 tons. Veer contemplated whether this was the core's way of guiding him to cultivate both his internal energy and mana together, eliminating the need for separate cultivation practices. Excited by this revelation, Veer expressed his happiness.

However, before delving further into his cultivation, Veer realized that he needed to eat something to satiate his hunger. Retrieving the bottles of nutritious food he had purchased earlier, Veer consumed two of them in quick succession. Soon, his body regained its previous appearance, and Veer felt nourished once again.

Having discovered a new method of cultivation, Veer became determined to focus on his magic training. He specifically wanted to harness the power of the lightning element, which was controlled by mana. To wield this power, Veer understood that he needed to visualize lightning in his mind and channel his mana exclusively for that purpose. The low thunderstorm spell served as a useful tool for this endeavor.

Contemplating the potential applications of controlling the lightning element, Veer wondered if he could use it to enhance his speed. He theorized that by directing the lightning element to the soles of his feet, it might provide a boost to his swiftness. Excited by the possibility, Veer decided to give it a try. However, he realized that his current location was not suitable for such experimentation. Instead, he planned to venture into a forest once his order arrived the next day.

In the forest, Veer would have ample space and freedom to practice manipulating the lightning element and exploring its potential effects on his speed.
