Chapter 24: Weekly Ranking, Number 1!
Director Zayden's voice fell, and soon the door on the other side was pushed open.
The person who walked in was Mertz, the director of the Operations Department. The Operation Department is responsible for keeping their eyes on the songs of the company's singers and also for promoting them.
He walked in happily and excited. He also seemed to be in some kind of rush.
"Director Zayden, 'STAY' has entered the Top-3 Ranking on the weekly ranking."
"Really?"
Director Zayden asked, surprised. He immediately turned to Alan who was on the phone.
"Manager Alan, 'STAY' has entered the Top-3 ranking!"
He said excitedly. Just earlier he said it was in the Top-10, and now it had managed to break into the Top-3.
"I heard!'
Alan said casually. He wasn't as excited as Director Zayden was. He expected the 'STAY' to achieve much more than just getting the number 1 on MeloPlay.
Mertz didn't know who was on the phone but didn't care that he was given priority because he was excited and happy from the result of the songs from the company.
Actually, he had promoted the songs from Irina and Ceclia but his main focus was from a B-List singer who released a song which is also in the Top-10. They wanted to make her song enter the Top-3 but they failed.
Fortunately for them, even though they failed with the B-List singer, Irina and Cecilia's 'STAY' has managed to reach Top-3. Now, they are promoting 'STAY' as well as the other four songs of Irina and Cecilia.
Mertz believes that the other four songs would also make their way to the Top-10 of Weekly Ranking.
They are now trying to get 'STAY' in number 1 position while for the other songs, they want it to reach Top-10.
"I will ask more about the situation! Mertz, is the operation department prompting the song. What is the plan?"
Director Zayden asked Mertz.
"I've arranged for a round of resources to be allocated today for 'STAY' to give them a boost in traffic. We are planning to push the song to Number 1 position. While also promoting other songs. 'Rising Star 'and 'Shine' might enter the Top-10 soon."
Mertz spoke with a smile.
Just when two of them were speaking, the door was pushed open. This time there was not even a knock.
"Director Zayden! Director Mertz! 'STAY' has become second!" Now 'STAY' is getting closer and closer to the top!"
Hearing the voice from the operation department, Director Zayden and Mertz were startled.
