Chapter 30: Competitors For The Contest

As Eida listened to the lyrics of the song 'STAY', she found herself getting immersed in the emotions conveyed by the music. The heartfelt lyrics resonated with her, and she could feel the raw emotions in the singer's voice.

Eida exchanged a surprised glance with Mia, who was watching her intently. Eida nodded, confirming that the song was indeed as good as Mia had claimed.

"This is amazing," Eida said, handing back the phone to Mia. "I can see why it's getting so popular. The lyrics are so good, and the vocals are powerful. Senior Cecilia and Senior Irina had totally killed it!"

Eida said excitedly.

"Irina and Cecilia really outdid themselves with this one."

Eida nodded enthusiastically.

"Definitely. It's no wonder it's climbing up the charts. I hope it gets nominated for the Song of the Year award. It deserves it."

Eida said. She had instantly become a fan of the song and even remembered some of its lyrics.

"Lucy, you also listened!"

Mia gave her the phone and the earphones.

After a while, Lucy had a dumbfounded expression.

"T-This… This is too good! Seniors would definitely become popular with this. I mean they might even get to B-List Idol just by relying on this song."

Lucy said. She was also mesmerized by the song and definitely thought that it might stand a chance at the Song Of The Year award.

"Do you know the composer? It says Eclipse Shadow but there are only five songs with this composer which are all the songs that Cecilia and Irina sang."

Lucy asked, curious about the composer of 'STAY'.

"I don't think that there was any famous composer with that nickname. He should be a new composer, no?"

Eida said. While composers are not really remembered by general audiences, they were well-known among Idols, especially good composers.

"A new composer? … With this level of ability, he might be at the level of Hit Songwriters."

Mia said. Unlike Lucy and Eida, she had also listened to other songs which were all great songs. From that, she came up with the conclusion that Ellipse Shadow might be at Hit Songwriter level.

"A Hit Songwriter? That would be nice then! Do you think we should ask Senior Cecilia and Irina about the composer?"

Eida asked excitedly. They were from different Idol companies, however, considering that they were their juniors in school, they thought that they might help.

"Yes, Mia, why don't you ask that guy who is always with Irina? Aren't you like his Childhood Friend? Maybe he knows something about this composer."

Lucy asked Mia.

He had been talking about Cecilia and Irina for the whole day. At this rate, it seems that he will inevitably turn into their die-hard fan or did he already become one? I don't know but I don't really want him to become one.

It could get pretty annoying if he asked me about them every day. Today itself was pretty tiring because of his nonstop talking.

Well, in any case, I should probably check whether Irina and Cecilia are practicing the song that I gave.

I couldn't go with them to practice after school because I had promised my friends to treat them. It had been more than a month since I had hung out with them.

Anyway, jokes aside, this was the reason why I had to come late to the company. Orion and Holden invited me to go to the karaoke after eating, however, I refused as I still needed to check on Cecilia and Irina.

With less than one week before the contest, I had to make sure that they are both ready to give their best performance.

I entered the Dreamwave Entertainment building. The moment I entered I saw three people who were talking to each other.

( What was her name again? Mina? And that Idol boy was called… I don't really remember. )

I think that she was one of the Idols that works for the company. She also released her song last week and was competing in the Weekly Ranking on MeloPlay.

As for the other idol, he was also with Mina when I had come to the company to check the status of Irina and Cecilia's songs.

The man who seemed to be in his 30s, smiled and talked to the two of them.

"Although your new songs didn't do well, it is because your songs were not good. With my songs, you two will definitely soar. In terms of singing and popularity, he knew that he didn't lose to them.

"I am also confident that we will win. But I heard that those two newcomers who won first place in the 'Weekly Ranking' would also be participating. I'm worried that they might come up with another great song."

Mina said worriedly. She was a B-List Idol and was pretty confident about her skills. However, she also knew better than to underestimate others, especially after losing to them once already.
