Chapter 40: Start Of The Competition
"Yeah, she is definitely one of the most popular here!"
Alan said it casually. He didn't think there was anything wrong with admitting facts. Even though he didn't like Composer Jules and anyone associated with him, it didn't mean that he would not admit to what is a fact.
And the fact is that Mina's prowess is clearly higher compared to others. And it can clearly be seen from the enthusiasm of the fans.
Mina's manager seemed startled by Alan's admitting to that. She didn't expect that kind of response from Alan. At least from what she had seen earlier, she thought of Alan as a cocky kid who doesn't know any manners.
"Humph! At least you can see that. I don't know why you were fighting with Composer Jules. He is supported by Mina who is clearly more popular than Irina & Cecilia. It is certain that Mina would win this competition with a song from composer Jules."
Mina's manager said. She thought that Alan was not as a blockhead as she thought he was. And he also seemed pretty calm compared to when he cursed at Composer Jules earlier. So that made her question why Alan had fought with Composer Jules earlier.
She knew that Composer Jules wanted to create trouble for Alan. However, before Composer Jules even did something like that, Alan had already shown his hostility toward Composer Jules.
She didn't know that Alan already knew about Composer Jules' goal of kicking him out and that is why he acted like that.
So this confused Mina's manager who thought that Alan was arrogant and didn't know his place.
It was clear to anyone that fighting Composer Jules would only harm Alan and his artists. Losing the competition to Composer Jules would mean that Composer Jules would be valued more than Alan.
In that case, if Composer Jules insisted on having Alan fired from the company, even if Alan had connections with the executives, he might end up being kicked out of the company, or so Mina's manager thought.
"It would be better if you apologized to Composer Jules. It is still not late and he might even forgive you if you are sincere enough."
Mina's manager advised him. It seems that although she didn't like Alan's attitude before, she had a much more favorable opinion of him now. Moreover, she thought that he was very young and needed someone to guide him as a manager.

However, this was not the type of competition where established fans could guarantee a win. While having loyal supporters could provide an advantage, it did not necessarily determine the ultimate winner. The individual with superior vocal abilities and a better song would emerge as the victor.

She thought that Alan might have realized his mistake but here he was, once again bragging. Mina's manager didn't expect Irina and Cecilia to win. Even if their songs were good, they can't beat Mina who has a massive number of fans.
Furthermore, she had faith in Mina's capabilities. Mina's popularity stemmed from her abilities, and without them, she would not have achieved her current level of fame.
She sighed in disappointment and ceased conversing with Alan, believing that he needed to experience setbacks to learn.
Alan did not explain anything to her either, even though she had good intentions and was trying to help him. However, Alan did not require any assistance, and it was unnecessary for him to apologize to someone who was plotting against him.
