"Finally, we're almost out of this godforsaken area"
I grumbled and spat on the ground out of frustration as I could see the valley entrance of the Ancient Retreat in the distance.
And after passing through there, I should be able to finally start doing my mission.
As for how long I stayed in Coronet Highland...
It was about a week and a half and It would have been less if it weren't for the pesky Alpha Pokemon always blocking the road.
Because of them, I had to take the long way around until I could get to this moment.
Of course, I didn't just waste my time and did nothing.

I naturally battled, surveyed, and captured several Pokemon on the way.
Which is exactly 65 Pokemons captured by yours truly, me... and just like last time, I categorized them into two groups.

Still, I am a bit bummed out that I only caught less than the amount I got last time in Obsidian Fieldlands.
I mean, there were a lot of super interesting Pokemons that I saw but too bad, they were too high-level for me.
Heck, I even encountered a Mismagius while I was trying to find a place to camp and I immediately wanted to capture it for myself.
Of course, I didn't do it since it was obvious that it was high-level even without me seeing its level.
I mean, after a period of constant surveying of Pokemon in the wild...
I kind of acquired a knack for figuring out whether a Pokemon is strong or just dangerously strong through observation, you know?
However, I only have about a 60% success rate when it comes to this thing but it's still a useful skill in my opinion.

I didn't capture a lot for myself since most of the Pokemons I wanted in this area are evolved forms which equals to high-levels so, I couldn't get them.
Still, I got myself some Rotom which was very surprising to me.
Though this lil shit was hard to get, I'll tell you that...
Oh, right... I also captured duplicates for Voltorb, Stantler, and Scyther since I plan to build a breeding ground of some sort for Pokemons.
Of course, It'll happen in the future and not right now since I'm currently piss-poor.
- Shing! Shing!
"Hm?"
It was then that my Honedge abruptly appeared in front of me with its body leaned sideways, pointing the tip of its blade in a certain direction.
"What is it, buddy?"
- Shing!
"You want me to go there...?"
- Shing~
I could see Honedge wiggle its entire body, expressing itself in agreement as it seemed that he found something in that direction.
Which made me raise my right eyebrow, wondering what sort of goodies my Honedge found.
And so, I nodded toward Honedge to lead the way as we soon arrived on what looked like a small hill.
"Oh?"
It was then that in the far distance, I saw a furry creature with sharp claws, perching beneath a tree while nibbling on some Oran berries.
And I immediately recognized what it was since I'd been trying to find one for the past few days.
"A Hisuian Sneasel!"
I finally found one...
Still, that took way too long than it should have.
But it doesn't matter anymore since this Sneasel is going to be mine.
"Nice job, Honedge"
- Shing!
I couldn't help but form a wide smile as I patted Honedge in enthusiasm, feeling proud of my little floating blade.
"You always seem to find the things I want, maybe you're my lucky charm"
- Shing~ Shing~
"Hahaha..."
I laughed for a bit before calming down and preparing myself as Honedge and I quietly inched our way toward the wild Hisuian Sneasel.
And it didn't take long for us to arrive close to it but not close enough that it would notice us.
"Hm"
Good, with this I should be able to properly observe it.
Now then, time to test out my newly acquired skill.
Let's see...
Looking at its fur and body, there doesn't seem to be any scrapes or dirt seen which goes to show that it doesn't battle that much.
Or it could have just washed itself every day which is likely the case since it's a feline creature.
I mean... cats like to clean themselves, right?
You know what, I'm getting sidetracked... I should focus on the situation.
Okay...
So, if it is the first theory then, it should be weak in battle since it doesn't have any experience.
I mean, it's impossible to always stay clean in a battle since the dust and dirt would cling to you and I would know since I've fought dozens of battles already.
"Hoh..."
And if it's the second one, well... I dunno but I do know it'll be bad for me... I think.
"Ugh..."
This is frustrating...
Screw this, it shouldn't be that strong since my guts telling me so anyway.
That's right, don't overthink too much...
You've managed to survive this long, you should at least put more trust in yourself, Shiroe.
"Okay... Honedge, use Autotomize"
- Shing!
Hearing my words, Honedge twirled its entire body as silvery particles seemed to fall off of him.
And it was then, that I could faintly notice that Honedge's movement was a bit faster than normal.
"Good, now Honedge use Shadow Sneak!"
- Shing!
In an instant, I saw Honedge turn shadowy before diving down to the ground and sneakily swam toward the unsuspecting wild Hisuian Sneasel.
And just as I expected, Honedge successfully attacked the wild Pokemon from behind without it being able to react at all.
- Sneasel?!
I watched as the wild Hisuian Sneasel cried out from the pain and got flung away as it rolled on the ground before shortly standing back up with a few bruises appearing on its body.
And it was then, that my good old friend, the notification bell chimed in inside my head.

"Huh..."
That was much higher than I expected...
I thought its level would be at around mid 10's or something but I guess, I underestimated it.
Still, this doesn't change anything since my Honedge is 9 stages higher than this wild Pokemon.
And I knew that I got this in the bag...
Until Murphy showed up and slapped me in the face.
- Sneasel!!
- Sneasel!
- Sneasel...
It was then, that I gaped as three Hisuian Sneasel suddenly came out atop the tree and landed on the ground, blocking Honedge from heading toward the injured Sneasel.
"...!"
I did not see that one coming... literally.
And with my power of observation, I could tell that these three Pokemon are veterans when it comes to battle.
Well, damn...
Was this a trap?
If so, then I am very impressed since they managed to hide so well.
I guess, that level 25 wild Hisuian was the bait while the three hid to ambush the enemy.
But it seems, they did not expect the bait to lose easily, huh...
Cause they came out way too early and I bet my money that they planned to wait for my Honedge to get tired before finishing him off.
That sounded wrong...
"Ehem..."
Anyway... I could finally understand why the currently injured Sneasel was at level 25 when it was so weak. It was because he/she had three friends to carry it.
I'm jelly...
I want friends as well to give me a bus ride.
"Ugh..."
And It was then, that I realized that I had no actual friends in this world...
I mean, Akari and Rei are more like work friends and not actual ones but maybe in the future that might change.
Still, though...
Currently, I have no one to call as a friend... well, a human friend anyway.
Shit, now this is making me mad...
"Honedge, use Quick Attack to pass through the three Sneasels"
Instantly, I watched Honedge flicker and vanish in the air as he moved so fast that he looked like he was teleporting all over the place.
And I could see the three Hisuian Sneasel trying their best to block his way but ultimately failing as my Honedge easily passed through them like a slippery butter.
- Sneasel?!
- Sneasel...?
- Sneasel!
I smirked and felt a tear drop from my eyes, seeing Honedge just ankle-break three Pokemon at the same time.
That's my boy!
"Honedge, finish the injured one with Aerial Ace!"
Hearing my shout, Honedge instantly executed a stance before moving so fast that in the blink of an eye, he had already passed through the injured Hisuian Sneasel and appeared right behind it.
And the moment I watch my Honedge sheathed himself...
The injured Hisuian Sneasel twitched before I saw as its eyes rolled back and fell to the ground.
- Sneasel...
It cried out one last time before its eyes twirled into a spiral and fell unconscious.

- Sneasel!
But it seems the other three Hisuian Sneasels weren't so happy about it as they immediately charged... towards me?
"Wait... what?!"
